Located at 405 N Main St, Lawrenceville, VA 23868, USA, China King operates as a Chinese restaurant in the local area. For orders or inquiries, they can be reached at (434) 848-0411 or their mobile number +1 434-848-0411.
Based on recent customer feedback, the experience at China King appears to be somewhat polarized, with varying opinions on different aspects of the restaurant. One recent review expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that the food quality has declined over time and is now considered overpriced. This customer recounted purchasing four orders of sesame chicken for their family, totaling nearly $50, only to have to discard all of it due to poor quality. This negative experience suggests a potential issue with the consistency and quality control of their dishes, at least in this particular instance. The reviewer also mentioned a past positive experience with a related restaurant in Emporia before its closure due to a tragedy, drawing a contrast with their recent disappointment at China King in Lawrenceville. This feedback serves as a strong caution for potential customers regarding the current state of their food.
In contrast, another reviewer acknowledged reading several reviews, some of which echoed negative sentiments. This customer specifically corroborated complaints about instances of phone calls being abruptly disconnected, describing such behavior as "rude." Additionally, they highlighted the restaurant's "CASH ONLY" policy as a significant inconvenience for customers who may prefer or rely on other forms of payment. These points suggest potential shortcomings in customer service and payment flexibility.
Despite these criticisms, the same reviewer went on to describe a more positive experience with the food itself. They reported ordering Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Egg Foo Yung, and General Tso's Chicken, and found these dishes to be "actually pretty good." Notably, the Egg Foo Yung was singled out as being "some of the best" the customer had ever had. This indicates that while there may be inconsistencies, some of the food offerings at China King can indeed be of decent quality and even exceptional in certain cases. The reviewer concluded by advising the establishment to be more pleasant to their customers, emphasizing the importance of customer relations for the success of the business.
The limited information from these two reviews does not provide a comprehensive picture of the restaurant's environment or ambiance. There are no descriptions of the interior decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere for dine-in customers. Given the mention of takeout orders in both reviews, it can be inferred that China King offers takeout service. However, the extent of their dine-in facilities or the primary focus of their business (dine-in versus takeout) remains unclear based on the provided feedback.
In terms of services, the reviews touch upon phone service (with reported issues of calls being hung up), order fulfillment (with one instance of a very negative food experience), and payment options (highlighting a "cash only" policy). The positive aspect of the service mentioned is the potential for "decent food" being prepared when orders are handled correctly. However, the inconsistency in food quality and the reported rudeness on the phone are significant service concerns.
The features of China King, based on this limited information, include a menu offering standard Chinese-American dishes such as Sesame Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Egg Foo Yung, and General Tso's Chicken. A notable, and potentially inconvenient, feature is their "CASH ONLY" payment policy. The quality of their food appears to be a variable feature, with the potential for being "pretty good" or, in some cases, entirely unsatisfactory. The reported issues with phone etiquette also stand out as an undesirable feature of their customer interaction.
Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or specials that China King might be running. The reviews do not mention any discounts, lunch specials, or other incentives to attract customers. For any information on current promotions, it would be necessary to contact the restaurant directly.
In summary, China King in Lawrenceville, VA, presents a mixed profile based on recent customer reviews. While some customers have found certain dishes to be "pretty good," even exceptional in the case of the Egg Foo Yung, there are significant concerns regarding food quality consistency, with at least one instance of a complete failure. Additionally, the restaurant's "CASH ONLY" policy is noted as an inconvenience, and there are reports of rude phone service. Potential customers may find some of the food to be satisfactory, but should be aware of the reported inconsistencies and the limitations in payment options and customer service. Further investigation or more recent reviews might be helpful in forming a more comprehensive opinion of the current state of China King Restaurant.

Customer Reviews
Food use to be ok know it's just overpriced and hard brought 4 sesame chicken for the family had to throw all away for almost 50 bucks don't know what happened but i have wash my hands i use to love the restaurant in emporia before they shutdown due to there tragedy. If you want a good meal to eat you may need to rethink your choice i wasted my money.
I've read several reviews about this place and I agree with a few of them. Yes, I have called this restaurant and had the phone hung up on me several times. (Rude Much?) The "CASH ONLY" policy is a huge inconvenience. If you can get past these hiccups, you might actually enjoy some decent food. We ordered Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Egg FooYung and General Tso's Chicken the food was actually pretty good. The Egg Foo Yung was some of the best I've ever had, All of the food was pretty darn good. Advice to this establishment, Be a little more pleasant to your Customers. After all, they are the ones that "PAY YOU"#IJS
The service is always fast. I've ordered numerous times and never gotten a wrong order once. It is important to note that they don't accept credit or debit so make sure you have cash. They now have a window for drive up & that makes things convenient with the restrictions towards the restaurants right now.
PLEASE convince business owners to set up the ( no fee ) Slice APP + check out machine in thier Chinese food restaurant. Cash ONLY is a bit tedious.
May be small town, but great food. Always very hot and fresh.
