About China King buffet

Welcome to China King Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 640 E Main St in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania (PA 17268), USA. As a prominent member of the Chinese Restaurant category in the Waynesboro area, China King Buffet distinguishes itself by offering an extensive all-you-can-eat buffet experience, catering to a wide range of tastes with a diverse selection of Chinese and even some non-Chinese dishes. While the primary service model is buffet-style, it is likely they also offer takeout options for those who prefer to enjoy their meals off-site. For any inquiries or to confirm services like takeout, you can reach them at their local phone number (717) 762-3888 or their international mobile number +1 717-762-3888.

To provide a detailed understanding of what China King Buffet offers to the local community in Waynesboro, let's delve into the experiences shared by recent customers. Their feedback presents a somewhat contrasting view, highlighting the extensive selection and quality of the food while also pointing out potential shortcomings in atmosphere, service, and food temperature consistency.

One reviewer expresses significant dissatisfaction with their experience, suggesting that if one is looking for "hot flavorful food with a lot of selections and welcoming service," China King Buffet might not be the place to go. This reviewer specifically mentions an unusual experience with "three (3) lady's to take your money" and a perceived lack of concern when they reported that their food was cold. They recount informing someone, possibly the owner, that the food was cold, and the response was seemingly dismissive, suggesting the food had just been put out without addressing the temperature issue. This negative experience led the reviewer to give the restaurant a rating below one star and to advise others that if they prefer cold leftovers, they should stay home. They also noted the absence of a senior discount. This feedback raises concerns about food temperature, customer service responsiveness to complaints, and potentially the overall management of the buffet.

In contrast, another reviewer describes China King Buffet as "our favorite local Chinese restaurant." This positive sentiment is based on the "wide range of dishes, all prepared beautifully," which they feel more than compensates for what they perceive as a lack of atmosphere and service. This reviewer highlights that whether ordering from the menu (if available) or choosing from the buffet, every dish is "nicely prepared and seasoned perfectly, neither too salty or too bland." They also appreciate the extensive nature of the buffet, noting the inclusion of "some non-Chinese offerings for those who prefer," indicating a broad appeal. A key positive aspect mentioned is the use of "small" serving dishes at the buffet, which the reviewer believes ensures that the food is "refreshed frequently and the food does not get stale sitting on the steam table." This suggests a focus on maintaining freshness despite the buffet format. The reviewer also lists several of their favorite dishes, including hot and sour soup, Szechuan green beans, lo mein noodles, pepper chicken, and steamed dumplings, and notes that there is "plenty to choose from for vegetarians and carnivores, alike," indicating a diverse menu catering to various dietary preferences.

Considering these contrasting reviews, China King Buffet in Waynesboro, PA, appears to be characterized by a wide and diverse selection of food, with one reviewer praising the preparation and seasoning across both Chinese and some non-Chinese dishes. The practice of using smaller, frequently refreshed serving dishes in the buffet suggests an effort to maintain food quality and prevent staleness. The availability of options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters is also a notable feature. However, there are significant concerns raised by another reviewer regarding the temperature of the food, the responsiveness of the staff (possibly management) to complaints, and the overall welcomingness of the service. The atmosphere is also noted as lacking by one reviewer, although the other focuses more on the food quality. The discrepancy in these experiences suggests potential inconsistencies in food temperature control and customer service.

As a Chinese buffet restaurant, China King Buffet likely offers a vast array of dishes spanning various categories of Chinese cuisine, along with the mentioned non-Chinese options. Buffets typically include appetizers, soups, a wide selection of main courses featuring different meats, poultry, and seafood, as well as vegetarian dishes, rice and noodle preparations, and a dessert section. The positive mention of specific dishes like hot and sour soup, Szechuan green beans, lo mein noodles, pepper chicken, and steamed dumplings gives a glimpse into their offerings. The inclusion of non-Chinese food suggests an attempt to cater to a broader range of palates. To get a comprehensive understanding of the full scope of their buffet and any menu items available for individual order, contacting the restaurant directly would be advisable.

For local users in Waynesboro, PA, China King Buffet offers a location with a potentially extensive selection of Chinese and some non-Chinese food in a buffet setting. If a wide variety of options and well-seasoned dishes are your priority, and you are less concerned about the atmosphere and potential service inconsistencies, this might be a viable choice. The practice of using smaller, frequently refreshed buffet dishes could be a significant advantage in ensuring freshness. However, it is prudent to be aware of the negative feedback regarding food temperature and customer service responsiveness to complaints. It might be wise to assess the buffet and the service during your visit to form your own opinion.

To inquire about their current buffet offerings, any takeout options, or any potential senior discounts, local residents are encouraged to contact China King Buffet directly via their phone number. While there are contrasting views in the provided reviews, the focus on a wide selection of food that is generally well-prepared and seasoned might appeal to those seeking variety in a buffet setting in the Waynesboro area. It would be beneficial to experience it firsthand to determine if it aligns with your preferences and expectations.

If you want hot flavorful food with a lot of selections and welcoming service and not to mention three (3) lady's to take your money! Then this is not the place to go. It is true you will have three (3) ladies to take your money and say iam sorry! I think it was the owner? That asked how every thing was, I said food is cold 🥶 she said just put it out! Not sure she mention the cat or the food. Give this place below 1 rating, but if you like cold leftovers I would say stay home. Did not offer senior discount 😕!

This is our favorite local Chinese restaurant. What it lacks in atmosphere and service, it more than makes up for in the wide range of dishes, all prepared beautifully. Whether you opt for the buffet or order off the menu, every dish is nicely prepared and seasoned perfectly, neither too salty or too bland. The Buffet is quite extensive, even including some non-Chinese offerings for those who prefer. The serving dishes at the buffet are small, ensuring that they are refreshed frequently and the food does not get stale sitting on the steam table. Some of my favorite dishes are the hot and sour soup, Szechuan green beans, lo mein noodles, pepper chicken and steamed dumplings. There is plenty to choose from for vegetarians and carnivores, alike.

Nothing we tried from the buffet was edible . The tea was good . The staff was very polite & nice . It was a disappointing meal , or the small amount of each item tasted bland & had an aftertaste which did not resemble anything food like !? Definitely our 1rst & last time at this restaurant. Sorry , but it’s the truth .
