About CHINA INN

Welcome to CHINA INN, a Chinese Restaurant located at 5059 Richmond Rd, Warsaw, VA 22572, USA. As a part of the local Chinese Restaurant category, CHINA INN aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the Warsaw community. You can contact them at (804) 333-9333 or +1 804-333-9333 for orders or inquiries. However, it is important to note that recent customer reviews present a mixed and largely negative picture of the dining experience at this establishment.

Based on the available customer feedback, the environment at CHINA INN appears to have significant issues. One reviewer described the building as "very hot and at least 80% humidity," which made for an "unpleasant meal." Such conditions can severely detract from the comfort and enjoyment of dining in the restaurant. This suggests a potential problem with the climate control system or ventilation within the premises. Local users considering dining in should be aware of this reported issue with the temperature and humidity levels.

In terms of services, CHINA INN seems to offer both dine-in (including a buffet) and takeout options. One customer mentioned doing a "to go order," indicating the availability of takeout service. However, feedback regarding the quality and value of these services is largely negative. The buffet was mentioned as needing to be "refreshed more often," and concerns were raised about the "thick congealed layer at the top" of soups and sauces on the buffet, which was described as "pretty gross." This suggests potential issues with food freshness and hygiene on the buffet. For takeout, one customer found the food to be just "food" (implying it was not particularly impressive) and noted that the portions were small for the price, especially the walnut shrimp, which was considered expensive for the quantity received.

The features of CHINA INN, as highlighted by customer reviews, are predominantly negative, particularly concerning the food quality. One reviewer experienced a significant decline in food quality compared to their normal experience, stating that the food "tasted totally different today than normal." Specific issues were raised with the hot and sour soup, which was described as bland, tasting like "gelatinous beef broth," and "somewhat old tasting." Several other items also "tasted off," leading the reviewer to speculate about a new cook who might not be following recipes correctly. This indicates a potential inconsistency in food preparation and quality control.

The most alarming feature reported by one customer was a case of "mild food poisoning" the morning after dining at CHINA INN for their child's birthday. Despite a previous negative experience, they returned, and while they noted the food was "slightly better" on this second occasion, the subsequent food poisoning led them to vow never to return. This serious health concern should be a significant warning for potential customers. The fact that this occurred after a weekend dinner time suggests that issues might be more prevalent during busier periods.

Another feature highlighted was the portion sizes for takeout orders. One customer felt that the portions were small relative to the price, particularly for the vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken, and especially the $17 walnut shrimp. This suggests that while the taste of the takeout food might be acceptable to some, the value in terms of quantity for the cost might be questionable.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at CHINA INN based on the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is overwhelmingly on negative aspects of the food, environment, and service. Local users interested in any potential promotions would still need to contact the restaurant directly, but given the serious concerns raised in the reviews, it might be prudent to exercise caution.

In conclusion, CHINA INN in Warsaw, VA, appears to be a Chinese restaurant with significant issues based on recent customer feedback. Concerns include inconsistent and declining food quality, potential food safety hazards (as indicated by a report of food poisoning), a poorly maintained buffet, small portion sizes for takeout orders, and an uncomfortable dining environment due to excessive heat and humidity. The hot and sour soup was specifically criticized, and the value for money on takeout items was questioned. Given the severity of the negative feedback, particularly the report of food poisoning, local users should exercise extreme caution when considering dining at or ordering from CHINA INN. The overwhelmingly negative recent experiences strongly suggest that this establishment may not provide a satisfactory or safe dining experience at this time. It would be advisable to consider alternative Chinese restaurants in the area based on this information.

Food tasted totally different today than normal. Hot and sour soup was neither spicy nor sour, tasted like gelatinous beef broth, very bland and somewhat old tasting. Several other items tasted off as well, as if they got a new cook who couldn’t find the recipes. Buffet could def stand to be refreshed more often. The soups and sauces generally have a very thick congealed layer at the top which is pretty gross. The building was also very hot and at least 80% humidity which didn’t make for a pleasant meal. Couldn’t recommend this place to anyone after todays dining experience. Edit: For some reason my kid loves this place, so we decided to go for his birthday, despite me really not wanting to. We went on a weekend during dinner time. The food was slightly better than my previous review. It’s the next morning and I now have mild food poisoning and can’t get off the toilet. Just skip this place, I will definitely never be returning, my kid can find a new favorite place.

We did a to go order. We got the vegetable lomien, seseme chicken, and the walnut shrimp. The food was food, but I thought the portions were small, given the price of them. Especially the walnut shrimp that was 17 dollars.

We have gotten takeout from here 2 times. We were disappointed the first time (about a year ago), but tried it again yesterday. We ordered the orange beef and it was pretty tough and tasted of baking soda. I think they must tenderize with it, but maybe too much was used? The General Tso’s chicken was jaw tiring tough and well over cooked. The steamed dumplings had large brown areas on them, from maybe sitting out in the air too long before steaming? The egg roll was just ok. We didn’t receive the normal bag of crunchy noodles this time. We were hoping for a better experience this time, especially for over $40.00 + tip. Unless we see a real change posted in reviews, I doubt we will be back.

Great atmosphere, good food and nice people! Have extra seating for large party's and is not to pricey. Overall great place to take the family.

No cocktails unfortunately, food was semi cold, cookies were stale to the point where it was bendable instead of breaking. We were a family of 6 and only 3 other people were there. Good service but will not be eating here again.
