About China Hut
Welcome to China Hut, a Chinese restaurant located at 103 N 12th St in West Columbia, South Carolina. As a part of the local Chinese Restaurant category, China Hut has been serving the community for several years. Based on the available customer reviews, the restaurant offers a mix of experiences, with some customers appreciating the quality of the food in general, while others have expressed significant concerns about specific dishes and the friendliness of the service.
The services offered by China Hut likely include both dine-in and takeout options. One reviewer mentioned that "this place has been around for years," suggesting the presence of a physical location where customers can eat. The other review, while highly negative about specific items, does not specify the service type. Given the nature of most Chinese restaurants, takeout is also expected to be a readily available option. To confirm the availability of dine-in, takeout, and potentially delivery services, local users are encouraged to contact China Hut directly at (803) 939-0770 or +1 803-939-0770.
The environment of China Hut is not explicitly described in detail in the provided reviews. One reviewer simply mentions that the place has been around for years, which doesn't offer much insight into the ambiance or decor. Customers primarily focused on their experiences with the food and service. Therefore, local users seeking information about the restaurant's atmosphere or dining area might need to visit the location or look for additional online reviews that could provide such details.
Customer reviews for China Hut present a somewhat polarized view. One reviewer had a very negative experience, particularly with the rice and an item referred to as "Thai meat balls." They described the rice as "HORRIBLE" and strongly advised others to "DONT EVER BOTHER" with the Thai meat balls, using strong negative emojis and stating that it was a "WASTED LUNCH HOUR" and vowed to "NEVER AGAIN." This review raises significant concerns about the quality of these specific items and suggests a potentially very unsatisfactory culinary experience.
In contrast, another reviewer offered a more balanced perspective. They acknowledged that the food is "good" and mentioned that the place has been a local fixture for years, implying a level of consistent quality that has allowed them to remain in business. However, this reviewer also noted that the staff is "not that friendly." Despite this issue with the service, they indicated their intention to "keep getting the food," suggesting that the quality of the cuisine outweighs the lack of friendliness in their opinion. They also mentioned the limited number of other "Good Chinese food places that are good anymore" in the area, implying that China Hut might be one of the better options available despite its shortcomings in service.
Considering these limited reviews, a key feature of China Hut appears to be its longevity in the West Columbia area, suggesting a history of providing food that at least some customers find satisfactory. The reviewer who intends to continue patronizing the establishment explicitly states that the food is "good," which is a significant positive. However, a major concern is the extremely negative feedback from another customer regarding the rice and the "Thai meat balls," indicating potential inconsistencies in food quality or perhaps significant differences in individual preferences for certain dishes.
The issue of unfriendly service, while not impacting the food quality directly, is a notable aspect of the customer experience at China Hut. Potential customers who prioritize a welcoming and friendly atmosphere might find this to be a drawback, even if the food is generally considered good by some.
No specific promotional information, such as discounts or special offers, is mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in learning about any promotions at China Hut should contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. They may also inquire about daily specials or any combination meals that might offer value. Given the contrasting feedback on food quality and the mention of unfriendly service, potential customers might want to consider these points when deciding whether to try China Hut.
In conclusion, China Hut in West Columbia, SC, is a Chinese restaurant with a long history in the area, suggesting a sustained customer base. While one reviewer found the food to be generally "good" despite unfriendly service, another had a severely negative experience with the rice and "Thai meat balls." This indicates potential inconsistencies in food quality or significant differences in the appeal of certain dishes. Local users considering China Hut should be aware of these mixed reviews. If good food is the primary concern and one is willing to overlook potentially unfriendly service, China Hut might be worth trying. However, the strong negative feedback on specific items should also be taken into consideration. Contacting the restaurant directly for more information on their menu and any current promotions is recommended.

Food use to be good..THE rice is HORRIBLE and the so called THAI MEAT BALLS..DONT EVER BOTHER 🙄🙄🙄🤮..A WASTED LUNCH HOUR🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮NEVER AGAIN🤮..
This place has been around for years and although it's good food. They not that friendly.. but I will keep getting the food. Being that there are not many Good Chinese food places that are good anymore
The place nice and clean, friendly staff and the food was the best chineese food ive ever had.
Had a taste for Chinese so I stopped to the nearest Chinese restaurant (I have never eaten here before). I told the lady that I wanted honey mustard wings, she repeated it to me. I asked to see my plate before she tied it up and she gave me teriyaki wings. I told her this isn't right she said "you said teriyaki" I said I DON'T EAT TERIYAKI SO I KNOW I DIDN'T SAY THAT. She rolled her eyes and put the wings in a separate bowel. Now she already had wings cooking for an order that was after mins, rather than dropping some while theirs was cooking she made me wait another 15 mins before she dropped my new wings. Then she pours my lo mein from the other container into a new one and has the lo mein sauce ALL OVER the new container, proceeds to dump my new wings in the lo mein sauce and then adds my honey mustard on top of the wings. Needless to say my wings are soggy and gross and my noodles are a soggy mess as well. I will NEVER eat here again!
The food is always amazing!! And I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. They have "THE BEST EGG ROLLS" I've ever tasted!!!!!! I will forever go eat here...
