The available customer reviews for China Hut present a notably negative perspective on the dining experience. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the food quality and value. They described the food as "not fresh" and asserted that there was "no value" in their meal. Specifically, they mentioned an 8-wing lunch "special" priced at over $14, with the wings being described as very small, "about the size of your big toe." This reviewer strongly advised against spending money at China Hut for those seeking decent Chinese food or good value, stating that it would be a regrettable decision.

Another reviewer echoed a negative sentiment, referring to the establishment as a "hood joint." They commented on the perceived limited food selection, suggesting it was "not typical chinese" and primarily focused on wings with various kinds of fried rice. This reviewer also found the food to be "bland" in taste and indicated that they would not be returning to China Hut.

Considering these two recent reviews, there are significant concerns raised about the food quality, value for money, and the variety of the menu offered at China Hut. Both reviewers expressed disappointment with their meals and indicated that they would not recommend the restaurant to others. The feedback suggests potential issues with the freshness of the ingredients, the portion sizes relative to the price, and the authenticity or range of the Chinese dishes available.

As a local Chinese restaurant in Columbia, China Hut serves the residents and visitors in the Millwood Ave area. The convenience of its location might be a factor for some seeking a nearby Chinese food option. However, the strongly negative feedback regarding the food and value suggests that potential customers should be aware of these opinions when considering this establishment.

The specific mention of overpriced and undersized wings in one review is a critical point for customers who might be considering ordering this item. Similarly, the comment about a limited and untypical Chinese menu, along with bland taste, could deter those looking for a more traditional or diverse Chinese culinary experience.

Given the consistency of the negative feedback in the available reviews, it appears that there might be underlying issues with the food quality, pricing strategy, and menu offerings at China Hut. Potential customers who prioritize these aspects of a dining experience may want to exercise caution or consider alternative Chinese restaurants in the Columbia area that have received more positive reviews.

In conclusion, the limited customer feedback available for China Hut in Columbia, SC, paints a negative picture of the restaurant, citing concerns about food freshness, poor value due to high prices and small portions, a limited and untypical Chinese menu, and bland taste. Local users looking for a Chinese restaurant in the Millwood Ave area should take these strong negative opinions into serious consideration when making their dining choices.

The food is not fresh and there is no value. 8 wing lunch "special" is over 14 dollars and the wings you do receive are about the size of your big toe. If you're hungry for some decent to good Chinese food or looking to get some bang for your buck, you will regret your decision to spend your money here.

It's a hood joint. Chinese people are cooking just wings with various kinds of fried rice. Limited food selections not typical chinese. Tasted bland, not returning.

This use to be the spot back in the day. I don’t know what happend but they must have changed management and cooks because the food was just meh. Nothing fancy about it. The portion size for the money wasn’t up to par and the wings were small. I’ll just stick with my usual Chinese spot. Oh I didn’t mention that calling in I was out on hold and got hung up on that should have been my first sign called back and got VM but their customer service rep did call back.

This is a lovely little place. The staff were very polite and fast. Wait time was not long. The establishment was clean and there are places to sit and wait or dine in if you wish. The food was delicious. Only thing that wasn’t spot on were the “crab angels” crab ragoons, fried a little too hard and dark for my liking but overall 5 stars!

I wanted vegetable lo mein but was told they were out of noodles. I then asked for vegetable fried rice but they said they didn't have any vegetables. We were charged more for our lunch specials than the online menu prices indicated. There wasn't a lot of shrimp in the rice for the price, especially after being overcharged. Overall, the food was good. We ate half for lunch and the rest for dinner. It was even better after the wings were left to marinate.
