About China House

Welcome to China House, a Chinese restaurant located at 418 S High St, Cortland, OH 44410, USA, serving the local community within the Chinese Restaurant category. China House can be contacted at (330) 637-2788 or +1 330-637-2788 for placing orders or inquiries. Based on recent customer feedback, China House is recognized for its convenient and fast service, particularly for takeout, as well as its fairly priced and well-regarded food.

Details regarding the specific ambiance or interior environment of China House are somewhat limited and mixed based on the provided reviews. One customer noted that it is "not much for dining in," suggesting that the primary focus might be on takeout and delivery services. This reviewer also humorously mentioned the possibility of dining in while children are doing their homework, implying a casual and perhaps less formal setting. The absence of further description suggests that the dine-in experience might not be a primary feature or focus of the restaurant. However, this also indicates that dine-in is a possibility for those who prefer it.

China House primarily offers takeout and potentially delivery services, emphasized by the positive comments on its convenience and speed. One reviewer fondly recalled a former pickup window that was available during the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed a wish for its return, highlighting the efficiency of their takeout operation. The first-time carryout experience reported by another customer was excellent, further underscoring the quality of their takeout service. While parking is mentioned as "a little confusing in chaotic," this seems to be an external factor related to the location rather than a direct reflection of the restaurant's services.

Several features distinguish China House as a noteworthy option for Chinese cuisine in Cortland. A significant aspect is the quality of their ingredients and the preparation of their dishes. One reviewer specifically praised the bourbon chicken, noting that the chicken pieces were large, juicy, and flavorful, and the vegetables were equally well-prepared. Their chicken fried rice also stood out for having substantial pieces of chicken and egg, unlike other restaurants where these ingredients are often sparse. This suggests a commitment to providing generous portions of high-quality ingredients. Another key feature is the fair pricing of their food, making it an affordable option for local users. The positive feedback on the saute broccoli with rice, enjoyed by one customer's wife, further indicates the quality and taste of their vegetarian options as well.

Currently, there is no explicit promotional information available in the provided reviews. However, the consistent positive feedback regarding the quality and quantity of food for a fair price could be considered an implicit promotion of their value. The fact that one customer felt China House "stands out from the crowd" compared to other Chinese restaurants they have eaten at, citing "better ingredients, better portions," serves as a strong endorsement. While there are no mentions of specific discounts or special offers, the positive attributes of convenience, speed, quality, portion size, and fair pricing collectively enhance the perceived value of dining at or ordering from China House.

In conclusion, China House in Cortland, OH, offers a convenient and fast service, primarily geared towards takeout and delivery, with a possibility of casual dine-in. While the dine-in environment is not extensively described and might be basic, the food consistently receives high praise for its quality, flavor, and generous portions. Customers have specifically highlighted the excellent bourbon chicken, substantial chicken fried rice, and tasty saute broccoli with rice. The pricing is considered fair, adding to the overall value. Although there are no explicit promotions mentioned, the positive attributes of quality ingredients, generous portions, and fair prices, coupled with the convenience and speed of service, make China House a standout choice for local users seeking reliable and delicious Chinese takeout in the Cortland area.

It's pretty convenient and fast. Used to have a pickup window during covid.Wish they still did. Parking is a little confusing in chaotic, but food is priced fairly, and very good wife got the saute broccoli in rice and loved it. Not much for dining in. I suppose you probably could sit in there if you don't mind sitting with the children while they're doing their homework.

My first time trying carry out from here and I thought the food was excellent. The chicken pieces in the entree (bourbon chicken) were cut large, were juicy and flavorful as were the vegetables. I had chicken fried rice and the chicken pieces and egg were substantial, in comparison with other restaurants where you have to search for tiny bits of each in their versions. Most Chinese restaurants I've eaten at are very similar to each other but this one stands out from the crowd. Better ingredients, better portions. I'll definitely order here again.

First time ordering from this place and probably will be the last. I ordered the chicken and shrimp fried rice. I'm sure the food had been previously frozen and then thawed to be reheated. The shrimp was ok but the rice and chicken texture is what gives me that impression.

First and last time. My order for take out was incorrect. Ordered shrimp rice, received beef rice. Ordered pork wontons and got cream cheese wontons. Ordered extra sauce for sesame chicken and received normal amount. The food itself was no better than what you can by in the frozen section in a grocery store. I expect this level from fast food and not from a family owned restaurant. I won't return.
