About China House

China House, located at 6005 Sid Martin Hwy #105 in Hawthorne, FL, is a Chinese Restaurant that has garnered positive feedback, particularly for its food quality and service for takeout. For those living in and around Hawthorne, China House presents a reliable option for satisfying Chinese food cravings.

One recent customer who moved to the area from Ocala expressed initial skepticism but was ultimately impressed, stating that China House offers the best Chinese food they've had since relocating to central Florida from the southern part of the state. They specifically praised the deliciousness of the food and were particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the location, including the visible kitchen area. The reviewer also noted the great prices, adding to the appeal, especially in a more rural setting.

Another reviewer provided a comparative perspective, noting that while China House is a step above Panda House in terms of quality ("fine dining" in comparison), it doesn't quite reach the level of Kobe's (being more comparable to Panda House in that context). A significant advantage highlighted was the quick 15-minute pickup time for orders. While they suggested that the fried rice could be more flavorful, they appreciated the use of large shrimp in the dishes. This reviewer also mentioned that the family running the establishment is nice and involves their children in the business operations, giving it a typical family-run feel.

However, this same reviewer pointed out a significant drawback: the restaurant has been in need of a makeover for years, and the atmosphere is definitely not conducive to dining in. This suggests that China House primarily caters to takeout customers.

In summary, China House in Hawthorne, FL, offers delicious Chinese food at great prices with quick takeout service and a clean environment. While the dine-in ambiance is not recommended, it is a favored spot for locals seeking quality Chinese food to enjoy at home. You can place your order by calling (352) 481-5099 or +1 352-481-5099.

Just moved here from Ocala. I was very skeptical. But by far the best Chinese I’ve had since moving to central Florida from south Florida. The food was delicious. The location was extremely clean even the kitchen in the back that you can see while purchasing meal. So happy to have a good Chinese place finally and on such a rural location. GREAT prices too

Compared to Panda House, this is fine dining. Compared to Kobe's, this is Panda House. I like that I can order and pick it up in 15 minutes. The fried rice could be a bit more flavorful. But at least they use large shrimp in the food. There's not much else to say, really. The family who runs it are nice and have been teaching their kids how to run the business. It's pretty typical. However, the place needs and has needed a make-over for years. The atmosphere is definitely a no dine in one.

Been coming here for years ,recently the quality and the portions have changed. My pork fried rice was very bland had maybe 3 to 4 pieces of fried pork about the same for vegetables and the orange chicken was minimal.the bowl size is now half of what it was. For the value I received it's worth the drive to somewhere else . Also almost all of the items.where overfried from the dumplings to the egg roles

Been coming here for years, always great food, only reason for the stars is because they need to change their menu prices, extremely different form what they advertise to what you spend my math was $67 ended up being $110

All Chinese food that we HAD .. are for the American pallet..We just settle for what every they give US.There is something about saying.."YOU WANT CHINESE TAKE OUT!" it's boring over salted..lack of taste to much corn starch soggy egg rolls.. all taste like condiments
