About China House

Welcome to China House, your local Chinese restaurant situated at 11150 N Williams St #103, Dunnellon, FL 34432. Located in Dunnellon, China House serves as the sole Chinese dining option within the immediate area, catering to residents and visitors seeking Chinese cuisine. For inquiries or to place an order, you can reach them at (352) 522-0008 or their mobile number +1 352-522-0008.

As a Chinese restaurant, China House falls under the category of food service establishments that specialize in dishes originating from or inspired by Chinese culinary traditions. These restaurants typically offer a diverse menu encompassing a variety of cooking styles and regional flavors, often adapted to suit local palates. Common offerings include rice dishes, noodle dishes, stir-fried meats and vegetables, soups, and various appetizers, providing a wide range of choices for customers.

Based on the limited online reviews available, the customer experiences at China House appear to be significantly negative, raising concerns about both the environment and the quality of the food. One reviewer expressed considerable distaste for the cleanliness of a prominent feature within the dining area, specifically mentioning a fish tank that appeared to be poorly maintained, resembling a "mud puddle." This initial impression was so off-putting that the reviewer, who had placed a takeout order, stated they were unable to eat the food as a result.

Another review provided specific feedback on the food itself, detailing several issues with the dishes ordered. The pork fried rice was criticized for containing bacon bits instead of traditional pork, lacking bean sprouts and other vegetables (containing only onions), and tasting stale with no discernible flavor. This deviates significantly from the expected ingredients and taste profile of standard pork fried rice found in most Chinese restaurants. Furthermore, the sweet and sour chicken was described as "old and refried," making it hard to chew and also lacking flavor. This suggests potential issues with food freshness and preparation methods.

Adding to the negative feedback, this same reviewer also commented on the pricing, stating that the prices were "stupid expensive" relative to the perceived poor quality and small quantity of the food. This combination of low food quality and high prices led the reviewer to conclude with a strong statement of not returning to China House in the future.

Considering these critical reviews, local users in Dunnellon seeking Chinese food should be aware of the potential issues raised by previous customers. The concerns about the cleanliness of the dining environment, specifically the fish tank, could be a significant deterrent for those who value a clean and pleasant atmosphere while picking up or dining in. Moreover, the negative feedback regarding the food quality, including the use of unconventional ingredients, staleness, and poor preparation resulting in a lack of flavor and unpleasant texture, suggests that the culinary experience might be unsatisfactory.

The mention of high prices further exacerbates these concerns, indicating that customers might not feel they are receiving value for their money. In a market where consumers have choices, even if limited locally, the perception of overpriced and low-quality food can severely impact a restaurant's reputation and customer retention.

Given that China House is mentioned as the only Chinese restaurant in Dunnellon by one of the reviewers, local residents may have limited immediate alternatives for this specific cuisine. However, the strongly negative feedback suggests that potential customers should proceed with caution. It might be advisable to inquire about the restaurant's current practices and standards before placing an order or visiting. If possible, seeking recommendations from other local residents who might have more recent or different experiences could also be beneficial.

It is important to remember that these reviews represent individual experiences at a particular point in time. However, the consistency of the negative feedback regarding both the environment and the food quality warrants serious consideration for potential new customers. Without more positive or contrasting reviews to provide a balanced perspective, the available information paints a concerning picture of China House.

In conclusion, China House in Dunnellon, FL, as a Chinese restaurant, has received negative feedback concerning the cleanliness of its dining area and the quality of its food, with specific criticisms regarding the preparation, ingredients, freshness, and flavor of dishes like pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Additionally, the prices have been described as high relative to the perceived quality and quantity. Local users seeking Chinese food in Dunnellon may want to consider these points carefully before choosing to dine at or order from China House.

Seriously? Why would any normal restaurant owner think that it's OK to keep a fish tank that looks like a mud puddle in their dining room?? I was in town and in the mood for Chinese food, and this place was the only Chinese restaurant in Dunnellon. I phone ordered take out and, upon picking up my food, I noticed the fish tank. I just couldn't get past that first impression and couldn't eat the food.

Pork fried rice has bacon bits for the pork. No bean sprouts, no veggies only onion. Tasted stale, no flavor. Sweet and sour chicken was old and refried, hard to chew, also no flavor. Prices are stupid expensive for the quality and quantity of food. I will not be going back there.

What can I say, place I'd o..k..having had the best Chinese, which is from the northeast believe it or not, the food is just ok most of the time. Not good enough to get excited about not bad enough to pass on. I get either the sweet and sour chicken or like pictured the beef sezchuan and my husband gets the bourbon chicken. Price on like teriyaki sticks, egg or vegetable rolls are a bit high. 2 teriyaki sticks an order for 5 bucks.. service is always curt and sometimes a bit rude but seems to be typical for Chinese restaurants. Being the only Chinese place in Dunnellon at this time, it itches the scratch when you get in a bind and want some chinese!

I don’t know the reason why this place has low reviews. Decided to try their food. Food was just amazing; crab rangoon was delicious, and shrimp fried rice with chicken was great. It’s five stars for me, and I’ll recommend this place to all.

Been buying food at China House for a long time. It has progressively been getting worse! I just purchased a Quart of Roast Pork Fried Rice. The Rice isn't Fried or just barely heated in a Wok. The Roast Pork is Grated into the Rice, it had small amounts of tiny slivers for texture. No Pork chunks could be found in the Quart Container! This is Unsatisfactory and beyond pitiful! I will NOT Order this again! So little Pork it's Almost Kosher! Carry Out Order.
