About China House

China House, located at 12400 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73120, USA, presents a compelling case study in the adage "don't judge a book by its cover." This Chinese restaurant, while perhaps not boasting the most luxurious or modern aesthetics, has clearly captivated the palates of its patrons with consistently "GREAT" food, fresh preparations, and remarkable value. It stands as a testament to the fact that culinary excellence can thrive in an unassuming setting, making it a true hidden gem in the Oklahoma City dining scene.

The immediate and most significant highlight of China House, as emphasized by multiple customer reviews, is the **quality of its food**. Despite appearances, patrons are quick to confirm that the food is "actually very good!" and even "AWESOME." A crucial aspect highlighted is that the "Food made fresh," which is paramount for Chinese cuisine, ensuring vibrant flavors and desirable textures. This commitment to fresh preparation contributes directly to the high praise the dishes receive. The sentiment of "Hard to find a good Chinese spot definitely have to be careful but this place was AWESOME" speaks volumes about the discernment of its clientele and China House's ability to exceed expectations where others might fall short. The deliciousness is consistently reliable, with loyal customers stating, "they have never let us down."

While specific dishes are not named in the provided reviews, the general consensus that "the food was GREAT" and "everything is very good" suggests a wide range of well-executed options. The typical menu of a Chinese restaurant of this nature would include a variety of appetizers (e.g., egg rolls, crab rangoon), soups (e.g., hot and sour, egg drop), fried rice dishes, lo mein, and classic entrees featuring chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp, often with various sauces like General Tso's, sweet and sour, or Kung Pao. The emphasis on freshness and consistent quality implies that these staple dishes are prepared with care and attention to detail, leading to satisfying results across the board.

The **environment** of China House is perhaps its most understated characteristic, and it’s explicitly mentioned as something not to "judge this place by." Reviewers advise not to "judge this place by it’s location or interior of the restaurant." Phrases like "may not look as appealing" and "look a bit sketchy" indicate a modest or no-frills exterior and interior. However, this is precisely where the "hidden gem" aspect comes into play. For many diners, the focus is squarely on the culinary experience, and they are willing to overlook aesthetic shortcomings for genuinely good food. This suggests a functional, clean-enough space that prioritizes food preparation and quick service over elaborate decor. It's the kind of establishment where the quality of the food does all the talking, proving that delicious meals don't require fancy surroundings.

In terms of **service**, China House receives commendation for its efficiency. Customers note that the service is "QUICK," which is particularly appealing for those visiting during a busy "lunch hour." This speed, combined with the food being made fresh, highlights a well-managed kitchen and a responsive staff. The owners' personal investment often leads to a consistent quality and a desire to maintain a good reputation within the community. The overall positive customer sentiment, despite the humble appearance, strongly suggests that the staff is attentive and ensures orders are correctly and quickly fulfilled.

A significant **feature** that sets China House apart is its outstanding value. Customers highlight that the food is "very much FILLING for the price I paid." This combination of generous portions and affordable pricing makes it an incredibly attractive option for budget-conscious diners seeking a satisfying meal. The sentiment of being a place worth supporting, particularly as a "small businesses" facing "rough times," is another aspect of its community appeal. Regular patrons make an effort to "order from here at least twice a month," reinforcing its consistent value proposition and their loyalty.

Regarding **promotional information**, China House primarily relies on word-of-mouth and its reputation for quality and value. There are no explicit large-scale marketing campaigns mentioned; instead, the compelling customer testimonials act as its most potent form of promotion. The direct pleas from satisfied customers to "Please give them a chance!" and "much appreciated" are powerful endorsements. The restaurant's contact information, phone at (405) 936-0906 and mobile at +1 405-936-0906, facilitates easy ordering for takeout or delivery, which are the primary service modes. While not explicitly stated, restaurants of this type often offer lunch specials or combo deals that further enhance their value, and these would be discovered upon visiting or reviewing their menu. The address at 12400 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73120, USA, places it in a convenient location for many in the northern part of Oklahoma City.

In conclusion, China House is a testament to the power of excellent food and value. Despite its unassuming exterior and interior, this family-owned Chinese restaurant in Oklahoma City has earned a loyal following by consistently delivering fresh, delicious, and generously portioned meals at affordable prices. Its quick service makes it an ideal spot for a satisfying lunch or a convenient takeout dinner. For those who prioritize authentic flavor and great value over flashy decor, China House is truly a hidden gem that deserves a visit, and its continued success is a result of its unwavering commitment to culinary quality and customer satisfaction.

Don’t judge this place by it’s location or interior of the restaurant. Although it may look a bit sketchy the food is actually very good! It is family owned and operated and times are still rough for small businesses! We try to order from here at least twice a month and they have never let us down. Please give them a chance!

I love this place! The food is always hot. The vegetables are always fresh and crispy. There is not too much breading, and the chicken is not chewy like some other chinese places. Also the crab rangoons taste homemade! I've gotten orange chicken, triple delight, general tsao's chicken, moo goo gai pan, and of course, sesame chicken. It has all been delicious! My favorite thing about this restaurant is that when you upgrade to fried rice, it actually has peas, carrots, and onion in it which is super important to me. Too many chinese places give you white rice put in a wok with a tiny bit of oil and soy sauce, and to me that is unacceptable. I love China House and now have my new go-to chinese restaurant for the area. Thank you for the great food!

Ordered the Pu Pu Platter. Chicken sticks were moist and delightful in flavor. Everything was good. The shrimp toast was new for me. I truly enjoyed this place. I'd share photos but I was hangry.
