About China House
Welcome to China House, a Chinese restaurant serving the community of Knightdale, North Carolina, from its location at 7063 Knightdale Blvd. As a local "Chinese Restaurant," China House offers a diverse menu that aims to satisfy a wide range of cravings for Chinese and American-Chinese cuisine. Based on recent customer reviews, the restaurant presents a mixed but ultimately promising picture, with certain dishes receiving positive feedback while others have been less favorably received. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of China House based on the available customer experiences.
One customer, trying China House for the first time, ordered a variety of items, including "rib tips, chicken fried rice, egg roll, and the fried chicken plate with broccoli on the side," along with "an order of white rice and an order of wonton egg drop soup." This extensive order provides a broad view of some of the dishes offered. The initial impressions were varied. The "wonton egg drop soup" was noted as being "too thick and lacked flavor," suggesting that this particular item might not be a highlight of their menu. The "rib tips" were described as "decent but nothing to write home about," indicating a satisfactory but not exceptional quality.
On a more positive note, the customer found the "egg roll" to be "fresh and hot," which was considered "pretty good." This suggests that their fried items are prepared well and served promptly. The "fried chicken" was also rated as "good," indicating another potentially satisfying choice on their menu. This initial review suggests that while some dishes might not meet expectations, others are prepared to a good standard, warranting further exploration of their selections.
Another reviewer offered a different perspective, suggesting that negative reviews might stem from ordering "the wrong items." This implies that China House has certain dishes that are particularly well-received. The reviewer specifically praised the "crispy spicy fish fillet" as "great" and the "beef lo mein" as "simple but flavorful." This positive feedback on these specific dishes indicates that China House has the capability to produce high-quality and tasty meals. It highlights the importance for potential customers to perhaps explore recommendations or popular items to have a more positive first experience.
Conversely, this second reviewer also had some less favorable experiences, mentioning that they were "not too much of a fan of the hot & sour soup or the ribs." This aligns with the first reviewer's lukewarm assessment of the ribs and suggests that the hot & sour soup might also be inconsistent or not to everyone's liking. However, the reviewer also noted that they had "definitely tried many other dishes from here before and didn’t really have the same complaints as others," reinforcing the idea that the quality might vary across different menu items, with some being significantly better than others.
An important aspect brought up by the second reviewer concerns the service at China House. They mentioned that "one employee’s attitude could ruin the whole business’ reputation." This is a significant point, as customer service can greatly impact the overall dining experience, regardless of the food quality. However, the reviewer also showed empathy, acknowledging the stresses of working in the food industry and stating that they had also "met some of the nicest ones as well." This suggests that there might be inconsistencies in the staff's demeanor, with both positive and negative encounters reported.
The reviewer's call for "grace" towards food service workers, especially in today's society, provides a balanced perspective and encourages understanding from customers. They also pointed out a common tendency for people to be quick to leave negative reviews but slow to offer compliments. This is a valuable reminder to consider the context and potential biases in online reviews and to perhaps form one's own opinion based on personal experience.
China House is described by the second reviewer as a "hard working small family" business. This detail adds a personal touch and might resonate with local patrons who prefer to support family-owned establishments. It also provides context for any potential inconsistencies in service or food, suggesting that the business might be operating with limited resources and facing the challenges common in the food industry.
In conclusion, China House in Knightdale, NC, appears to be a Chinese restaurant with a somewhat varied reception among customers. While some dishes, like the crispy spicy fish fillet and beef lo mein, receive high praise, others, such as the wonton egg drop soup and possibly the ribs and hot & sour soup, have been less impressive. The egg roll and fried chicken seem to be consistently good. The service experience might also vary depending on the staff member encountered. However, as a hard-working small family business, China House likely strives to provide quality food and service to its community.
For local users in Knightdale looking to try China House, it might be beneficial to consider the dishes that have received positive mentions, such as the crispy spicy fish fillet and beef lo mein, while perhaps being cautious with items that have garnered negative feedback, like the wonton egg drop soup and ribs. The fact that one reviewer had consistently positive experiences with "many other dishes" suggests that there is likely a range of well-prepared options on the menu waiting to be discovered. Given the mixed reviews on service, approaching the experience with patience and understanding, as suggested by one customer, might be wise. As no specific promotional information was available, the best way to form an opinion about China House is likely to try it and perhaps share your own experiences to contribute to the local feedback.

Customer Reviews
I tried here after having a hankering for Chinese food. I ordered the rib tips, chicken fried rice, egg roll, and the fried chicken plate with broccoli on the side. I also got an order of white rice and an order of wonton egg drop soup. I tried the wonton egg drop soup, and it was too thick and lacked flavor. I then tried the rib tips, and they were decent but nothing to write home about. The egg roll was fresh and hot, so that was pretty good. The fried chicken was good also. I would try here again but not get the soup or rib tips, maybe try their other selections.
Maybe the people who write negative reviews are the ones ordering the wrong items? The crispy spicy fish fillet was great; beef lo mein was simple but flavorful. Was not too much of a fan of the hot & sour soup or the ribs, but definitely tried many other dishes from here before and didn’t really have the same complaints as others. Also one employee’s attitude could ruin the whole business’’ reputation, but I try to really give grace since we are all burnt out humans who have to deal with rude customers as well. It goes both ways. I have to admit I witness a rude employee here, but also met some of the nicest ones as well. I’m sorry this isn’t a 5 star restaurant to some, but they are a hard working small family, but until everyone knows what it is like to work in this food industry during today’s society —they would also give grace. Please remember, people will write a bad review real fast, but never quick to compliment when credit is due.
This is more of an obsession at this point. The crispy fried hot and spicy fish, and shrimp fried rice is cooked and prepared just to perfection. Excellent recipe.
Worst food. I ordered something simple- Chicken Fried Rice and could not find a piece of chicken. Loaded with onions and some seasoning that turned the rice bright yellow. I would not recommend. Fast food at its worst.
Food was not good. Crab Rangoon had a fishy taste. Egg drop soup had a very bland taste and hint of dishwater. Shrimp egg rolls almost no flavor. Cardboard. Not impressed Won't be back.
