About China House

Welcome to China House, your local Chinese restaurant situated at 3300 Grant Line Rd, New Albany, IN 47150, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, China House offers a selection of Chinese dishes for local users seeking a convenient and affordable meal. You can contact them by phone at (812) 948-8877 or via their mobile number, +1 812-948-8877.

Based on recent customer feedback, China House presents an interesting case for local diners. Several reviewers have commented on the apparent need for updates to the restaurant's signage and online presence, including Google descriptions. One reviewer noted that the exterior might seem "sketchy" but suggested this could be due to lower foot traffic rather than the quality of the food itself. This implies that while the outward appearance might not be the most modern or eye-catching, the culinary offerings could be a pleasant surprise.

In terms of the dining environment, it's important to note that China House, according to customer reviews, does not operate a buffet service. Instead, they offer a display where customers can view the available dishes and make their selections. This suggests a focus on freshly prepared items that are chosen directly by the customer, potentially ensuring a higher level of quality control over what is served. However, one reviewer explicitly mentioned that it’s "good if you want Chinese but don’t want to eat in :)," indicating that the primary service model may lean towards takeout rather than a full dine-in experience. This could mean that the seating and overall ambiance for eating at the restaurant might be basic or limited.

Regarding services, China House primarily seems to cater to takeout orders. While the option to see the food before ordering suggests some level of in-person interaction, the emphasis from at least one reviewer points towards the convenience of getting Chinese food to enjoy elsewhere. This could mean that while they might have some seating available, the core of their business revolves around preparing food for customers to take away and eat at home or another location.

A significant feature highlighted in the customer reviews is the quality of the food, which has been described as "surprisingly good." This suggests that despite any perceived shortcomings in the restaurant's appearance or online presentation, the taste and preparation of their dishes are commendable. One specific dish that received positive mention is the General Tso's Chicken, with a reviewer stating that they "always get" it. This indicates a level of consistency and satisfaction with at least one of their signature dishes.

Furthermore, China House is praised for its affordability and generous portion sizes. One reviewer explicitly stated, "Good food cheap and good quantity as well." This combination of tasty food at a low price with substantial servings is a significant draw for many customers, especially those looking for value for money. This feature positions China House as a potentially excellent option for individuals and families seeking a budget-friendly Chinese meal without compromising on quantity or taste.

Based on the available information, China House appears to be a no-frills establishment that prioritizes the quality and value of its food over elaborate ambiance or extensive dine-in facilities. The emphasis on takeout service, combined with positive feedback on the taste and quantity of their dishes, suggests that local users looking for a reliable and affordable Chinese takeout option should consider China House.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, local users interested in potential deals or special offers might need to contact the restaurant directly via phone or visit their location to inquire about any current promotions. It's also advisable to check online ordering platforms or local directories that might list any ongoing discounts or family meal deals offered by China House.

In conclusion, China House in New Albany presents itself as a Chinese restaurant that might be easily overlooked due to its unassuming exterior and potential need for updated online information. However, customer reviews suggest that those who venture in (or opt for takeout) are likely to be rewarded with surprisingly good food, particularly the General Tso's Chicken, at cheap prices and in generous quantities. For local users prioritizing taste, value, and convenience for takeout Chinese cuisine, China House appears to be a hidden gem worth considering. While the dine-in experience might be secondary, the focus on delivering quality food at an affordable price point seems to be their key strength.

They need to update their signs and google descriptions, etc, but their food is surprisingly good! They look sketchy on the outside but I think it’s just because they don’t get a lot of business They don’t have a buffet, but you can see what they have and choose what you want! It’s good if you want Chinese but don’t want to eat in :)

Do not ask for extra sweet and sour sauce 🤪She only put 2 in a order of 3 meals. She'll get upset. The food is good. I guess I'll just have to ration the 2 packets out 🤪🤪

Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating! It is ALWAYS delicious. Yeah it would be great if it had a buffet, but carryout or delivery is just fine. So good!

Worst food ever. That's a bone and to small to be chicken. Look at the marks on the so called chicken. I'm highly grossed out. The rice was hard and smelled days old.
