About China House

Welcome to China House, a Chinese restaurant located at 13180 Coursey Blvd in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (zip code 70816). As a local Chinese restaurant, China House aims to provide a range of Chinese culinary options for the Baton Rouge community, offering both the convenience of takeout and the option to dine-in at their establishment. You can contact China House to place an order or inquire about their services and menu by calling them at (225) 755-1828 or their mobile number +1 225-755-1828.

Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at China House appear to be somewhat varied. One long-term customer expresses high satisfaction, stating they eat at China House two to three times a week, consistently ordering the same meal and enjoying the quality and affordability of the food. This reviewer praises the owner's consistent presence and friendly demeanor, highlighting the restaurant's value for money, with the ability to have a meal with leftovers for under $10, including a drink. This positive feedback suggests that China House has the potential to provide a satisfying and budget-friendly dining experience for its patrons.

In contrast, another customer reported a significantly negative experience with a recent order. This review detailed issues with the quality of specific dishes, including watery honey chicken sauce, soggy chicken resembling sweet and sour chicken, and mushy shrimp fried rice with similarly textured shrimp. The customer found the food quality so unsatisfactory that they had to leave work to request a refund. While a refund was initially promised over the phone, the in-person interaction with the cashier is described as difficult. Furthermore, the reviewer recounts a negative parting remark made by the cashier in front of other customers. This feedback raises concerns about food quality consistency and customer service in certain situations.

Considering these contrasting reviews, it's challenging to form a definitive picture of the typical experience at China House. The positive review emphasizes consistent food quality and affordability over a long period, along with a friendly owner. This suggests that for some customers, China House provides reliable and satisfactory meals.

However, the negative review highlights potential issues with food preparation for certain dishes and raises serious concerns about customer service interactions, particularly in handling complaints. The stark difference between these two experiences suggests that the quality of food and service might vary, or that individual experiences can be highly subjective.

For local users in Baton Rouge considering China House, it would be prudent to weigh these differing opinions. If you are looking for an affordable Chinese meal and are inclined towards dishes that have been consistently praised by long-term customers, China House might be an option to consider. The mention of dine-in service also offers flexibility for those who prefer to eat at the restaurant rather than take away.

However, the negative feedback regarding food quality and customer service should also be taken into account. It might be beneficial to consider trying a smaller order initially to assess the current food quality and service standards based on your own experience. The fact that the owner is frequently present could be a positive factor in ensuring quality and addressing any concerns.

Without further information regarding the environment or specific features of the restaurant beyond the food and service interactions, it's difficult to provide a comprehensive introduction. The available reviews primarily focus on the food quality and customer service aspects. Potential promotional information is also absent from the provided text.

In conclusion, China House is a Chinese restaurant in Baton Rouge offering both dine-in and takeout options. It has at least one long-term customer who highly praises its affordability and consistent food quality. However, another customer reported significant issues with food quality and a negative customer service experience. Local users should consider these contrasting views when deciding whether to patronize China House. It might be advisable to approach with cautious optimism and perhaps try a well-regarded dish based on positive feedback while being mindful of the potential for inconsistencies.

I eat here two or three times a week. Same order. Same good food. Owner is always here and friendly. Will continue eating here till I'm old and gray or they close. Can't beat the prices. And can't beat the food. Don't know anywhere else you can eat for less than 10 bucks and have some leftover. With a drink.

I order Honey chicken with extra sauce, and shrimp fried rice. $19.27. The honey chicken sauce was watery. Chicken looked like sweet and sour chicken that was soggy. And shrimp fried rice was mushy and so was the shrimp. I picked upthe food before work. Anf it was necessary to leave work and ask for a refund. Before making the trip there a refund was promised. When i arrived the only woman cashier gave me a hard time after i told her my issue with the food. Netherless, she gave me my refund and as i walked out the door. Shouted out In front of two elderly custumers dining in. "dont ever come back here thats why nobody likes you. " If i can rate it a negative 5 stars I would.

Shrimp fried rice needs seasoning & if you order it get extra shrimp . Tso general chicken was pretty good but the crab ragoon was awful and tastes nothing like cream cheese and crab at all . Service was awful ,went to return the crab ragoon and was treated rudely as if I did not purchase anything. I was refused a refund and at very least a remake . It felt as if it was a prejudice moment but I stood up for what was right . I will take my money and business elsewhere
