As a Chinese restaurant, China House typically offers a broad menu designed to cater to diverse tastes. Patrons can generally expect to find an array of appetizers, such as spring rolls, egg rolls, and dumplings, alongside various soup options. The main courses often feature popular categories like chicken, beef, pork, and seafood dishes, prepared with different sauces and vegetables. Common preparations might include General Tso's Chicken, Kung Pao Shrimp, Beef with Broccoli, and Sweet and Sour Pork. Many Chinese restaurants, including China House, also provide vegetarian options and traditional rice and noodle dishes like fried rice and lo mein. The convenience of delivery service is a notable aspect for many customers in the local area, allowing them to enjoy their meals in the comfort of their own homes.
When considering the environment of a Chinese restaurant like China House, one might anticipate a casual and functional dining space. Most local Chinese eateries prioritize efficiency and accessibility, often featuring a straightforward layout for both dine-in customers and those picking up carry-out orders. The decor typically incorporates elements that reflect Chinese culture, such as traditional artwork, lanterns, or a color palette often featuring red and gold, which are considered auspicious colors in Chinese culture. While not always a focus on high-end ambiance, the goal is to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for everyday dining. Cleanliness and a well-maintained dining area are generally priorities to ensure a pleasant experience for all patrons, whether they are dining in for a quick meal or waiting for their take-out order.
The services offered at China House extend beyond just serving food. A key service often highlighted is their delivery option, which provides a convenient solution for customers living within their delivery radius. This service can be particularly appealing for families or individuals looking for a hassle-free meal option. In addition to delivery, China House also offers traditional carry-out service, allowing customers to call ahead and pick up their orders. For those who prefer to dine on-site, a dine-in service is available, providing a space to enjoy their meal fresh from the kitchen. The staff typically aims for efficient and friendly service, ensuring that orders are taken accurately and prepared promptly. The focus is often on quick turnaround times, especially for lunch rushes and busy dinner periods, to accommodate a steady flow of customers.
Regarding features, China House, like many Chinese restaurants, likely prides itself on offering a wide selection of dishes at competitive prices. The menu variety is a significant feature, allowing customers to choose from a vast array of flavors and preparations. The use of fresh ingredients, while not always explicitly advertised, is a common practice among reputable eateries to ensure taste and quality. The convenience of their location in a consumer center drive suggests easy access and ample parking, which is another practical feature for customers. Furthermore, the ability to order by phone for both pick-up and delivery streamlines the ordering process, making it simple and efficient for patrons.
From a promotional standpoint, local Chinese restaurants often rely on word-of-mouth, repeat business, and community engagement. China House might offer occasional specials, lunch combos, or family meal deals to attract and retain customers. These promotions can be communicated through in-store signage, local advertisements, or online platforms if the restaurant maintains a social media presence or a simple website. Loyalty programs, where customers can earn points or discounts on future orders, are also a common promotional strategy. Given the competitive nature of the restaurant industry, highlighting value, speed of service, and quality of food are often central to their promotional efforts.
Customer feedback, however, provides a more candid perspective on the dining experience at China House. Recent reviews indicate some areas where the restaurant might be facing challenges. For instance, a customer on January 2, 2025, expressed disappointment with their "Happy Family" order, citing a "very watery sauce," absence of fried lobster as advertised, and disproportionate amounts of ingredients, with only small quantities of beef, shrimp, chicken, and pork compared to an abundance of vegetables like broccoli, carrots, and onions. This meal, priced at $17.99, was deemed not worth the cost. The same customer also found the crab rangoon to be excessively greasy and soggy, lacking crispiness, leading to a strong recommendation against the establishment and a decision not to return.
Another review from the same date, January 2, 2025, shared a similar sentiment of disappointment regarding a significant order for delivery totaling $62.54, excluding a $10 tip. The customer ordered chicken wings and chicken with cashews, while their companion ordered black pepper chicken with rice, crab rangoons, and steamed dumplings. Both individuals found their chicken dishes to be excessively salty, rendering them "inedible." However, the crab rangoons and steamed dumplings were noted as "really good." Despite the positive remarks on these two items, the overall negative experience with the main dishes led to a firm decision not to order from China House again. These reviews collectively suggest inconsistencies in food quality, particularly regarding seasoning and ingredient proportions in certain dishes, and issues with the preparation of fried items like crab rangoon. While delivery service is appreciated, the core product quality appears to be a point of concern for some patrons.

I was so excited to find a Chinese place that delivers with fast service and had one of my favorite dishes only to be greatly disappointed. I ordered the happy family which is supposed to have fried lobster, jumbo shrimp, chicken beef and pork plus mixed veggies with brown sauce. What i got unfortunately was very water sauce, no lobster, 1 piece of beef, 2 pieces of shrimp 3 pieces of small chicken 2 tiny pieces of pork and lots of broccoli, carrots, and heavy onions. That meal alone was 17.99. Totally not worth the price i paid. I also ordered the crab ragoon it was so greasy that it was soggy with no Crispiness. I do not recommend this place and definitely will not be going back.
My wife and I ordered from there last night 1-2-2025. We were surprised that they delivered out to us so we ordered a good bit of food, only to be disappointed. I ordered: Chicken wings And chicken with cashews My wife ordered: Black pepper chicken with rice Crab Rangoon's And steamed dumplings. Both my items tasted like salt was dumped on them and inedible. My wife's Black Pepper Chicken she said tasted the same way. She did say the crab Rangoon's and steamed dumplings were really good. We spent $62.54 not including the $10 tip to the driver. We will not be ordering from there again.
Ordered Pad Thai for lunch via carryout, was provided peanuts and a slice of lemon, which I thought was rather strange since usually Pad Thai is served with a lime. The peanuts were already on top of the pad thai, so the peanuts were soggy and not crunchy like I expected. I also paid for extra jumbo shrimp, which was an extra $7 and I only got three shrimp on top of the sparse normal sized shrimp that we're already inside. Overall it was $19.70 and I am still hungry. I don't know if I'll be back again.
Ordered there the other night. The food has really gone down hill. This has been our go to place for a long time. The honey chicken was all batter and then when you did actually get a piece of chicken it was over cooked like jerky. Rice was extremely oily. Fried wontons were so hard you couldn’t chew them. Between my sister and I we spent about 120.00$. When we order out anywhere it’s a big order we have a very large family. Needless to say very disappointed and won’t spend that kind of money there anymore.
We have been ordering from China House for many years. The food is always exceptional. Delivery is always on time or early.
