About China House Buffet

China House Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 1325 Bass Pro Drive in St. Charles, Missouri (63301, USA), operates within the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," specifically as a buffet. This format typically offers an all-you-can-eat experience with a variety of Chinese dishes available for customers to serve themselves. China House Buffet can be contacted via phone at (636) 724-8388 or mobile at +1 636-724-8388 for inquiries. As a buffet, the primary service model involves self-service from a selection of prepared foods, with staff likely providing table service for drinks and potentially clearing plates.

Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at China House Buffet appears to be somewhat inconsistent. One customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, giving the place a 0-star rating if possible. Their visit around 7 pm resulted in receiving food that was described as "hard as a rock and cold." Upon bringing this to the attention of a staff member, the customer reported that only one item was remade. This reviewer also noted difficulty even getting a drink and expressed surprise that the establishment was still open. Furthermore, they described the bathroom as "stinky and awful" and made a serious accusation regarding a staff member, purportedly the manager, attempting to take money from guest-operated claw machines. This overwhelmingly negative review strongly advises others to "SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!"

In contrast, another customer offered a more balanced perspective, stating that the experience is "a 50/50 on what you get but I enjoy it a lot." This suggests variability in food quality or selection depending on the time of visit or other factors. This reviewer mentioned that their family often comes to China House Buffet, indicating a degree of satisfaction despite the acknowledged inconsistency. They characterized it as "not the best but worth your money given it's a cheaper buffet and a smaller family owned one." This suggests that China House Buffet positions itself as an affordable option, potentially appealing to budget-conscious diners and those who prefer to support smaller, family-run businesses.

Considering these two reviews, there is a significant disparity in the reported customer experiences. One highlights severe issues with food quality, cleanliness (specifically the bathroom), and questionable behavior by staff. The other acknowledges potential inconsistency but finds the overall experience enjoyable and worth the price, attributing this to its nature as a cheaper, family-owned buffet.

For local users in the St. Charles area looking for a Chinese buffet, China House Buffet is an available option located near Bass Pro Drive. The appeal of a buffet is the variety and the ability to eat as much as one likes for a set price. However, potential customers should be aware of the starkly contrasting recent reviews. The negative review raises serious concerns about food quality (freshness and temperature), cleanliness, and even staff conduct. The positive review suggests that while not top-tier, it can be a worthwhile option for those prioritizing affordability and supporting a family-owned business, with the caveat of potential inconsistency.

Given the limited information about the environment beyond the negative bathroom description, it's difficult to paint a clear picture of the dining atmosphere. As a buffet, the layout would typically involve various food stations with seating areas for customers. The "smaller family owned" description suggests a potentially less elaborate or more casual setting compared to larger chain buffets.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Potential customers would need to contact the restaurant directly or check online for any current deals, discounts, or special offerings, such as the "lunch special" mentioned by a reviewer at another restaurant, which is not detailed here for China House Buffet.

In conclusion, China House Buffet in St. Charles, MO, offers a Chinese buffet experience that is viewed very differently by recent customers. While one found significant issues with food quality, cleanliness, and staff behavior, strongly recommending against visiting, another found it enjoyable and worth the money as a cheaper, family-owned option, despite acknowledging potential inconsistencies. Local users considering dining at China House Buffet should weigh these contrasting opinions. Those prioritizing high food quality and a clean environment may be hesitant based on the negative review, while those seeking an affordable, all-you-can-eat Chinese meal and willing to accept potential variability might find it satisfactory, as suggested by the positive review. Further investigation, such as checking more recent reviews or contacting the restaurant directly, could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of China House Buffet.

I would give this place a 0 star rating if I could…came in around 7pm and received hard as a rock food and cold food….. I said something to the guy and he said okay okay and only had 1 thing remade….. I normally don’t complain but this is crazy. I am lucky I even had something to drink on my table. I don’t understand how this place is still open:( not to mention the bathroom stinks and looks awful…SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! The one lady who works here he seems like she might be the manager walks around to the claw machines and tries to take money out of them that the guest have put money in also That you cannot win🤬

I don’t recommend this place at all. We came in for their lunch hours, 11-3:30. We got there at 3:15, adults are $11.99 and kids are $6.99. They promptly greeted and sat us, taking our drink order. We walked in right after another table, two women. They dropped the check later and I see here that they purposefully waited 16 minutes (until 3:31) to ring in our buffets, making them $13.99 and $9.49 respectively. I noticed the women we walked in with looking at their bill funny and asked them if they did the same thing, and they sure as heck did! This is a clear attempt to make a few extra dollars and I don’t appreciate the dishonesty. It’s shady and janky. If you want to charge $14 for a buffet at 3:15, then do that, it’s literally your business, you can change the sign. But don’t cheat your customers when you think they won’t notice. The food is not the best anyways, but my son loves it, so I went for him. This will be the last time we go, though.

The food was hard and dry. The soup and rice looked like it had been sitting there for hours. The restaurant was dirty. The floors were u swept. There was a lot of boxes stacked in part of it. Upon check out they didn’t even ask you how things were. Do not waste your money!! Will never go there again.

There go is so good. If you leave hungry I'm not sure what to say. But they seem down and they don't smile. Need to cheer the place up some may be some kind of music for the back ground. Brighten it up some. But I love the food.
