About China Grand Buffet

China Grand Buffet is a Chinese Restaurant located at 10498 Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83704, USA. They can be contacted at phone number (208) 321-9888 or mobile phone +1 208-321-9888.

According to one recent review, China Grand Buffet is considered a great spot for those seeking a wide variety of Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes at an affordable price. The selection is described as impressive, including popular items like General Tso’s Chicken and fried rice, along with fresh seafood, sushi, and a salad bar. The hibachi station is highlighted as a nice feature for made-to-order options, and the overall value for the price is deemed excellent, making it a good choice for families, groups, or anyone with a large appetite.

However, another customer with years of experience at this establishment reports a decline in quality and an increase in prices. They describe the place as dirty, noting food on the ground. They also mention a lack of meat and vegetables in the dishes, with some items being cold or dried out. While this reviewer found the sushi to be good, they noted that the atmosphere has always been unwelcoming. This customer suggests considering an alternative buffet in a nearby city.

In summary, China Grand Buffet in Boise offers a large selection of dishes at an affordable price, which may appeal to those seeking variety and value. However, recent feedback indicates potential concerns regarding cleanliness, food quality, and atmosphere. It is advisable for potential customers to weigh these contrasting experiences when considering dining at this establishment.

Grand China Buffet is a great spot if you’re looking for a wide variety of Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes at an affordable price. The selection is impressive, with everything from General Tso’s Chicken and fried rice to fresh seafood, sushi, and a salad bar. The hibachi station is a nice touch for a made-to-order option. For the price, the value is excellent. It’s a great choice for families, groups, or anyone with a big appetite. We’ll definitely be back!

Have been coming here for years. Place has fallen off. Prices went up. Quality went way down. It's dirty. Constantly stepping over food on the ground. Barely any meat or vegetables in the dishes. Some stuff cold or dried out. Sushi is good. Atmosphere has always been unwelcoming but that's Asians for you. Might I suggest the City Biffet in Nampa. It's phenomenal.

VERDICT: THE stop for a Chinese buffet, bar none. FOOD: From classics like chow mein to more unique takes like the delectable and crisp peanut butter chicken, this place offers a broad and indulgent range of flavor. To properly review a place with such a wide range, I will give a brief breakdown by ethnicity of food: Chinese (and Chinese American): The chow mein (as labeled, although technically vegetable lo mein) is the best in the valley. The complexity and notes from the frying to the seasonings build a perfect chew and taste. Likewise, the peanut butter chicken is unique, crisp, and a deeply savory dish perfectly paired to the chow mein. Rounding out the perfect plate would be a three-piece crown of sesame balls (zhīma qiú for proper nomenclature, or often called dán tuí). Do note that anything chicken here pairs well with the chow mein. Pepper chicken is also shown on my perfect plate. JAPANESE: Sushi is decent. I won't lie or give grace here. It's good for being from a Chinese restaurant. Steamed custard buns are delicious, and the pork bun is delightful. There's a hibachi-type grill I haven't tried yet, as it is newer, and I can't break free from my perfect plate (pictured). AMERICAN: Pepper chicken is killer. The fries are surprisingly good as well (as they are done in the peanut oil likely responsible for the peanut butter chicken). The desserts would all qualify as American: Jello, pudding, soft serve (as self-serve), regular ice cream (Blue Bunny as self-serve), cookies, cake, and cotton candy. All of these are good, though the soft serve is a classic machine pumping out the older style of heavy cream self-serve we born of the 80s and 90s remember. SERVICE: Typical table service. While "your waiter" may not make rounds fast enough to keep your beverage filled at all times, there's an army of wait staff quite willing to help. I can easily forgive this as the food stays absurdly fresh due to (1) the number of people always eating here, and (2) the speed at which they can produce more food. If a bin is empty when you go, just peruse for a couple minutes and a refill of mouth-burningly fresh food will be there. ATMOSPHERE: Classic Chinese restaurant: overly-passionate singers singing post Mao hits, large murals of generically Chinese vistas, and gigantic decor, such as 8 ft vases and huge statues.

Food was good. Lots of variety. You can't beat what they offer for the price. Very good value. We went during the week after lunch, and the food still looked fresh and were still being refilled. Service was quick. Usually, at a Chinese buffet, I expect wait staff to be slow, but not here. The waiter quickly brought our drinks and cleared our plates every time. Restaurant had some pretty large cool Chinese decor. Dim sum was a bit mushy and sushi selections did not have any with fish in it. But for the price, it's still a good deal.

I spent an evening with my family at China Grand Buffet and enjoyed my stay a lot. The choice of food is excellent - different soups, various styles of chicken, pork, seafood, rice and noodles, sushi, all kinds of desserts. The quality of the food is very good, the staff is very friendly. Moreover, the prices are modest.
