About China Go Grill

China Go Grill, located at 1230 S Rock Rd in Wichita, Kansas, is a Chinese Restaurant that has garnered mixed recent reviews from local customers. While it appears to have undergone a significant remodeling, resulting in a visually appealing environment, some patrons have expressed concerns about a perceived decline in the quality and taste of the food. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of China Go Grill based on the available customer feedback, highlighting both its strengths and areas where it may have changed.

One customer, who professes to "love China Go" and was previously willing to drive across town to patronize the establishment, noted a significant change following the recent remodeling. While they acknowledged that the store now "looks great," they expressed disappointment in the diminished quality of the food. Specifically, they felt that the dishes were "not as tasty as they used to be," to the point where China Go Grill is no longer their first thought when craving Chinese cuisine. This loyal customer also mentioned a decline in the quality of the rice, which they remembered as being a standout feature, tasting "so fresh." Currently, they feel this is no longer the case, which they find "sad." Additionally, they reported a "weird almost chemical taste" in the spring rolls, advising others to potentially "try a different place until they get back to being good." This review paints a picture of a restaurant that may have prioritized aesthetics over maintaining its previous food standards, leading to dissatisfaction from a once-loyal customer.

In contrast, another reviewer expressed strong positive sentiments, stating, "I love this place." They praised China Go Grill for offering "very good food for very good prices," highlighting the affordability as a major draw. This customer also noted the "huge" portion sizes, indicating that diners receive substantial value for their money. Their favorite dishes were the orange chicken and the fried rice, suggesting that these items may still be well-prepared and enjoyable. This reviewer, who drives into Wichita once or twice a month, makes it a point to stop by China Go Grill for takeout, often getting "2 to 3 good meals out of one order" compared to the single meal typically obtained from other Chinese takeout places. They also described the staff as "always nice" and the service as "super fast," concluding with a positive recommendation to "Give it a shot!" This review presents a more favorable perspective, emphasizing the value, portion size, speed of service, and friendliness of the staff.

Considering these contrasting reviews, China Go Grill appears to be a restaurant with both positive and negative aspects in its current state. The recent remodeling has likely enhanced the environment of the establishment, making it more visually appealing, as noted by one reviewer. This could contribute to a more pleasant experience for those who choose to dine in, although neither review explicitly focuses on the dine-in experience, suggesting it might be primarily a takeout-oriented business.

In terms of service, one reviewer found it to be "super fast" and the staff "always nice," which are significant positives for a takeout restaurant. However, the other review does not comment on the service speed or friendliness, focusing instead on the decline in food quality. This suggests that the service may be a consistent strength, while the food quality might be more variable or have changed recently.

The features of China Go Grill seem to include large portion sizes at affordable prices, which is a significant draw for budget-conscious customers. The orange chicken and fried rice are mentioned as enjoyable dishes by one reviewer. However, the reported decline in the overall taste of the dishes, the change in rice quality, and the concerning "chemical taste" in the spring rolls are significant drawbacks that potential customers should be aware of.

There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to comment on any current specials or offers that China Go Grill might be running.

For local users in Wichita, Kansas, who are considering China Go Grill, it is important to weigh these recent, somewhat conflicting, experiences. The remodeled interior might offer a pleasant setting if you choose to dine in (though this is not explicitly detailed). The restaurant is praised for its large portions and affordable prices, which could make it an attractive option for those seeking value. The fast and friendly service, as reported by one reviewer, is also a plus for takeout orders. However, the significant concerns raised by another long-time customer regarding a decline in food quality, particularly the taste of the dishes, the change in rice, and the unusual taste of the spring rolls, should not be ignored. Potential customers might want to proceed with caution, perhaps trying a few different dishes to form their own opinion on the current food quality.

If you are a previous fan of China Go Grill, it might be worth revisiting to see if the reported decline in food quality aligns with your own experience. If you are a new customer, the positive feedback on value and service might be appealing, but being aware of the potential issues with taste and specific items like the spring rolls is advisable.

I love China Go and will often drive all the way across town to get it. They have recently remodeled everything in the store. It looks great. The problem. The quality of their food went down. Their dishes are not as tasty as they used to be. To the point when I want Chinese, this is not the first place I think of anymore. They used to have the best rice and their food tasted so fresh. Not that way currently. Which makes me sad. The spring rolls also have a weird almost chemical taste to them. Maybe try a different place until they get back to being good.

I love this place. They offer very good food for very good prices. Their portions are huge. I really like the orange chicken and the fried rice. I drive into Wichita once or twice a month and I make sure to stop by here and grab some take-out. I can get 2 to 3 good meals out of one order when other Chinese take-out I only get 1. The people are always nice and it is super fast. Give it a shot!

Some of the best chinese food takeout in wichita. All food made fresh everyday by talented cooks in the back. The owner is an incredibly nice guy, too. Hidden gem. Will definitely be back!

First time in. The lady at counter was very welcoming. Not a lot in hot area, but plenty enough, and next time I'm trying catfish! I got the orange chicken, lo mein and sweet crab rangoon. They had reg Rangoon and sweet! It was all very good, and large portions. My sis got general tso chicken ( sp?), and rice. We tasted each others, and hers was tasty too. I'd def eat there again.

Boyfriend and I ordered ahead for dinner. It said 20 min prep time. We stopped at sonic for drinks and then arrived about 25 minutes later to find they hadn't even started our order. I originally ordered the chicken pad thai, and upon our arrival learned they were out of noodles (or sauce). Nobody called to let us know until after our arrival. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl instead. Chicken was dry. The sauce was good and rice was cooked appropriately. However it was disappointing after not having the pad thai and expecting a decent replacement. My boyfriend had the szechuan chicken and fried rice which were good. We will try again in hopes next time goes more smoothly.
