About China Gate

China Gate is a Chinese restaurant located at 4436 Slauson Ave, Maywood, CA 90270, USA. They can be contacted at (323) 771-2237 or +1 323-771-2237.

Based on recent reviews, China Gate offers great Chinese fast food at a good price. One reviewer recommends asking for condiments with your order.

However, a long-time customer's review indicates a potential change in the restaurant's recipe and possibly ownership. This customer, who has lived in Maywood for over 20 years, specifically inquires about the "old China gate recipe," mentioning "Brown noodles" and "awesome rice." They are seeking information about whether the restaurant relocated or if the original owners can be found elsewhere, possibly with an "old school real version of China gate." This review suggests that the current China Gate might be different from what long-term residents remember.

Therefore, China Gate currently presents itself as an affordable Chinese fast food option in Maywood. However, potential customers who are familiar with the restaurant from over 20 years ago should be aware of possible changes in the food and ownership.

The ChowMein Noodles are kinda plain, but I enjoyed em. The orange chicken is soft and not so sweet and not so orange; I prefer orange chicken that is crispy on the outside with sticky sweet orange syrup and soft inside. There wasn’t much teriyaki about the teriyaki chicken. Their teriyaki is not reminiscent of the sweet honey-like texture stuff, it’s more like a Mexican brown “mole”. The utensils are weak plastic and bend from the middle of the handle. I did not receive soy sauce and spicy sauce with my order. I do not plan on going back there.

I've been coming to this spot since I was little! Different owners but the food is still good and always fresh.
