About China Garden Restaurant

Welcome to China Garden Restaurant, located at 3570 Northgate Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588, USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Myrtle Beach community, China Garden offers takeout and delivery services. You can place your order or inquire about our menu by calling (843) 294-3388 or our mobile number +1 843-294-3388.

Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at China Garden Restaurant appear to be varied, with both positive and negative feedback received. This suggests that the quality of food and service may not be consistently high across all visits and dishes.

One long-time customer, in a review from December 18th, considered China Garden "one of the best Chinese takeout" options in Myrtle Beach. They specifically praised the "real meaty delicious pot sticker dumplings," noting that they were superior to those found elsewhere, including at well-known establishments like PF Chang's. This positive feedback highlights the pot stickers (also referred to as "fried dumplings" in an older review) as a potential standout item on the menu. The price for these fried dumplings was mentioned as $8.10 for an order of eight.

An older review, from about a year prior, also expressed high satisfaction, awarding China Garden five stars after trying their GrubHub delivery service for the first time. This reviewer echoed the sentiment about the "real potstickers" with a "potsticker dough wrapper" being a rare find in the area. They also commended the "very generous" portion of chicken in the General Tso combo, appreciating the absence of sweet broccoli. Furthermore, the panfried noodles with vegetables, which included big chunks of chicken, bok choy, spring pea pods, broccoli, baby corn, water chestnuts, and slightly fried lo mein noodles, were described as "very tasty." This reviewer concluded that China Garden rated higher than several other Chinese restaurants in south Myrtle Beach, including PF Changs, enoodles, Osaka Buffet, and Panda Express, and offered a strong recommendation.

However, a more recent review, dated March 15, 2025, presents a starkly contrasting experience from the same long-time customer who had previously enjoyed China Garden for many years. This reviewer stated they "WILL NOT be returning" due to a significantly negative meal. The chicken fried rice was heavily criticized for containing only "4 pencil-thin strings of chicken, NO EGG, NO GREEN ONION, NO VEGETABLES OF ANY KIND other than a few pieces of regular onion," deeming it a "terrible waste of $10." The General Tso chicken was also poorly received, with the chicken batter coating described as hard and tasteless, and the sauce as "terribly sweet - way, way too sweet." Lastly, the crab rangoon was noted to have "something very off with the filling."

Adding to the negative experience of the most recent reviewer was an observation about the service during their wait for the order at the restaurant. They reported that the "lady at the register was watching videos on her phone the entire time" and was inattentive to customers, only acknowledging the order after her video finished. This suggests a lack of prioritization of customer service at the counter during pickup.

In response to the restaurant's online reply to their negative review, the customer further defended their critique of the chicken fried rice by stating they did a Google search and found that egg is typically included in the dish, providing photographic evidence of search results. This indicates a significant deviation from standard preparation, in the customer's view.

Considering these reviews, China Garden Restaurant appears to offer some dishes that have been well-received, particularly the pot stickers, which seem to be a consistent highlight for some customers. The General Tso's chicken and panfried noodles also received positive feedback in an older review. However, more recent experiences indicate a potential decline in food quality and consistency, especially concerning the chicken fried rice, General Tso's chicken, and crab rangoon. Additionally, there are concerns raised about the attentiveness of the service at the pickup counter.

The available information does not provide specific details about the restaurant's dine-in environment or any current promotional offers. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the quality of the takeout food and, in one instance, the service during pickup.

For local users in Myrtle Beach, SC, considering ordering from China Garden Restaurant, it is important to weigh these contrasting recent experiences. While the pot stickers seem to be a reliable favorite, there are significant concerns about the quality of other standard dishes like chicken fried rice and General Tso's chicken based on a recent review. The service at the pickup counter may also be inconsistent.

Potential customers might want to inquire about the preparation of specific dishes when placing their order, especially if they have specific expectations regarding ingredients or taste. Given the recent negative feedback, it might be prudent to proceed with caution or consider trying a small order initially to assess the current food quality and service standards for themselves.

In conclusion, China Garden Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC, is a Chinese restaurant offering takeout and delivery. While some customers have praised dishes like the pot stickers and had positive experiences in the past, more recent feedback indicates potential issues with food quality and service consistency. Local users should consider these mixed reviews when deciding whether to order from China Garden Restaurant.

Dec 18. Still one of the best Chinese takeout in Myrtle Beach. A few prices are up but still affordable. They have real meaty delicious pot sticker dumplings, which I haven't found anywhere including PF Chang's. See my photos! A year ago... China Garden, first time trying via GrubHub delivery. 5 stars! It's hard to get real potstickers around here. Their "fried dumplings" 8 for $8.10 are meaty and have the potsticker dough wrapper! General Tso combo was very generous with the chicken and had none of that sweet broccoli which is fine by me! The panfried noodles with vegetables had big chunks of chicken, bok choy, spring pea pods, broccoli, baby corn, water chestnuts and skightly fried lo mein noodles was very tasty. We have tried all the Chinese in south Myrtle and China Garden now rates higher in my book than PF Changs, enoodles, Osaka Buffet, and Panda Express! Good job -highly recommend!

3-15-2025 I have visited China Garden for many years but I WILL NOT be returning. ⭐️ of 5 - Chicken fried rice included 4 pencil-thin strings of chicken, NO EGG, NO GREEN ONION, NO VEGETABLES OF ANY KIND other than a few pieces of regular onion. Who has ever had CFR without egg? It was a terrible waste of $10 ⭐️ of 5 - General Tso chicken - chicken batter coating must have also been made without egg. It was hard and tasteless. The sauce was terribly sweet - way, way too sweet. ⭐️ of 5 - Crab Rangoon - something was very off with the filling While at the restaurant , I waited for my order. The lady at the register was watching videos on her phone the entire time. When my order was passed through the window, she turned and looked, then returned to her video. Minutes passed. ONCE HER VIDEO WAS FINISHED, she grabbed my order and said, “Okay.” Obviously customers are not her priority. Neither will I be returning nor will I be recommending China Garden UPDATE: In response to the restaurant response, I did a Google search of CHICKEN FRIED RICE. I HAVE INCLUDED A PIC OF THE FIRST THREE SERCH RESPONSES - EGG IN ALL THREE.

Pretty awful. Threw away the boneless ribs. They were dry like Jerky and Grey. Also tasted sour as if bad. Lo mean was dry and zero flavor. Chicken seems off too but the hubby said it was fine. Pretty disappointing for $40. Crab ragoons were decent.

I purchased General Tao’s chicken Day before yesterday, I hate it. I gave my dog two small pieces both she and I have food poisoning I have a 104° temperature literally for the last 18 hours have lost 6 pounds between diarrhea and vomiting. My dog has not stopped throwing up. In the year, I have my dog. She’s never been ill once. I haven’t been ill in five years, the only thing in common was an hour after we both had chicken from ChinaGarden We are both violently ill. I did call them a few minutes ago to let them know that they have and are selling contaminated chicken. The response I got was if you don’t like it you can bring it back. If I was up to it, I’d bring it back and watch her eat a piece of it So she can experience what I am experiencing what my dog is experiencing. I’m going to see my doctor tomorrow from what I understand From the nurse if it continues, I will be hospitalized tomorrow which means my dog will be hospital Tomorrow and you gotta bet your ass they will claim zero responsibility for it. And if it goes to that extent I will be bringing in my dogs vomit along with some of mine. To an attorney who will clearly send it out to a lab And if you think I’m being ridiculous, believe me what I am experiencing is not ridiculous. It’s painful and vile. I’m not the kind of person who speaks out what he’s angry and then doesn’t follow through. I will most definitely follow through.. It was their response that angers me, of course not feeling well and losing all this weight and still experiencing pain. This is the first time I’ve had a moment to clean up a little bit. And take the time to write this As a section to add photos, what I won’t do that because I don’t want to give other people a bad appetite Chinese food in general But I probably should to cost them business Get a response from these people I will
