About China Garden
Welcome to China Garden, your neighborhood Chinese restaurant situated at 2963 Patterson Rd in Florissant, Missouri. As a local Chinese eatery, China Garden aims to provide a range of familiar Chinese dishes to the community. You can reach them at (314) 972-9090 or their mobile number +1 314-972-9090 for inquiries or to place an order.
Based on available information, China Garden operates within the Chinese Restaurant category, suggesting a menu featuring popular Chinese-American cuisine. This typically includes a variety of dishes such as fried rice, noodle dishes, and various meat and vegetable preparations with distinct sauces. These establishments often cater to both dine-in customers looking for a casual meal and those preferring to enjoy their food at home through carry-out services.
To provide a comprehensive overview, it's important to consider the experiences shared by recent patrons. Feedback from customers can offer valuable insights into the environment, service, and quality of food at China Garden.
One customer recounted an order that included a hot braised chicken wing combo plate and chicken steamed noodles. While they found the noodles to be acceptable, their experience with the hot braised chicken wings was less favorable. The review mentioned that the chicken appeared to have been cooked in old oil and possibly prepared some days prior. The texture of the chicken crust was described as hard and unpleasant. Furthermore, the sauce accompanying the chicken had a taste that was unexpected, with notes of cinnamon or maple syrup, which the customer found off-putting compared to their usual expectations for this dish. The combo meal was priced at $12, and the customer noted that only the rice was satisfactory, leading to a significant amount of food being discarded.
Adding to this, the same review highlighted a significant discrepancy with the crab rangoon. According to this customer, the item they received did not contain crab, cheese, or any discernible crab flavor. Instead, it was filled with a large amount of shredded cheese and what they suspected to be mayonnaise. This deviation from the traditional crab rangoon filling resulted in further disappointment.
The customer did acknowledge a positive interaction with a staff member, describing him as a "nice man who works there" and noting his explanation that he manages the store single-handedly. Despite this positive aspect of the service, the reviewer concluded that improvements were necessary at the establishment.
Another customer shared a considerably negative experience, describing their order as "totally disgusting" and a "waste of money." This review mentioned old lettuce in a sandwich, which was purportedly very small relative to the bread. The customer stated that the sandwich "didn’t even fit the bread," implying a significant imbalance in size. The price of $7 for a plain St. Paul sandwich and plain fried rice was deemed a "rip off." Additionally, this customer reported not receiving a fork with their order and that the restaurant was out of several items they requested. This individual was so dissatisfied that they felt the restaurant "really need to be shut down" and expressed a desire to give a zero-star rating.
Considering these direct accounts from customers, it appears that while China Garden operates as a local Chinese restaurant offering standard menu items and both dine-in and carry-out options, there are significant concerns regarding the food quality and consistency. Issues such as the freshness of ingredients, the preparation methods leading to undesirable textures and flavors, and the accuracy of menu items (as in the case of the crab rangoon) have been raised. Furthermore, service aspects such as the availability of utensils and the stock of menu items also appear to be areas needing attention.
For local users considering dining at China Garden, it would be prudent to weigh these recent experiences. While the restaurant is locally accessible and offers the convenience of Chinese cuisine, the feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in food quality and service that may impact the overall dining experience. As an objective introduction based on the available online reviews, it is important to acknowledge both the presence of the restaurant within the community and the specific concerns raised by its patrons.
It's worth noting that online reviews represent individual experiences and may not always be fully representative of every customer's interaction. However, the detailed accounts provided offer valuable insights for potential customers looking for a Chinese restaurant in the Florissant area. While China Garden is an option, these reviews highlight areas where improvements may be needed to ensure a more consistently positive dining experience.
For those interested in supporting local businesses, it might be beneficial to consider these points alongside any personal preferences or past experiences with China Garden. If you decide to try their offerings, perhaps starting with simpler dishes or inquiring about the freshness of ingredients might be a cautious approach based on the feedback received. Ultimately, the decision rests on individual preferences and risk tolerance when choosing a dining establishment.

I ordered a hot braised chicken wing combo plate and chicken steamed noodles. The noodles were ok but the hot braised chicken.. you could tell that the chicken was cooked in old oil and probably days ago. The crust on the chicken was so hard it was unpleasant to eat. And the sauce tasted like it had cinnamon or maple syrup in it.. kind of off putting from what I'm used to. And the crab ragoon is not crab ragoon. No crab cheese or crab in it.. It was stuffed with a lot of shredded cheese and I'm guessing mayo.. not sure... but I was disappointed to throw away so much food.. the combo was $12. I only ate the rice which was tasty.. Nice man who works there but improvements are needed. He explained that he works the store by himself.
Lettuce was old sandwich was the size of a thin fish patty or something it didn’t even fit the bread the bread was thicker than the sandwich was totally disgusting a waste of my money $7 for a plain St. Paul and plain fried rice is a rip off they didn’t give me a fork and was out of everything u asked for they really need to be shut down who do I contact I wish I could give zero stars
My favorite Chinese food in the St Louis area. This is the most authentic Cantonese food you'll find in the area. Can't beat the prices either. You can have a full meal for less than a meal would cost at McDonalds. We've ordered Chinese food from this place for the last year and both experiences were excellent. Very pleasant people taking orders both times and delivery was very prompt. Its a small restaurant with only a few tables, but most of the business is take out and they are fast. I usually wait 5 to 10 minutes. The food is not the typical greasy tasteless fare. It's very fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend!
My daughter and I both agreed that the rice and the spring rolls have a weird taste. Especially the spring rolls because they taste like they added cinnamon or something.
Absolutely the worst chinese food ive ever eaten! It smelled like it had prepared in a dirty pot, the sauce was water thin, the serving size was tiny, the noodles had no taste at all! The only good thing was the price and the egg rolls and crab Rangoon were good!
