You can easily reach China Garden to place your order or inquire about their menu by calling (802) 879-8888 or +1 802-879-8888. Known primarily for its takeout service, China Garden focuses on providing efficient and convenient options for customers to enjoy their favorite Chinese dishes in the comfort of their own homes.
Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, China Garden stands out, particularly for its appetizers. One reviewer emphatically recommends the fried dumplings, suggesting that they are a must-try item and worth clearing your schedule for. This highlights the potential quality and appeal of China Garden's starter options. Beyond the dumplings, the wonton soup and crab rangoons are also identified as being among the best in the area, rivaling only a select few establishments in nearby Burlington. This strong endorsement of their starters suggests a commitment to flavorful and well-prepared appetizers.
A significant feature consistently praised by customers is the affordability of China Garden. One reviewer notes that you "basically get twice what you pay for in the long run," indicating exceptional value for money. This is further exemplified by dishes like the General Tso's chicken, which is mentioned to be so substantial that it can last for about a week in leftovers while remaining "yummy." This highlights the generous portion sizes offered by China Garden, allowing customers to enjoy their meals over multiple servings, further enhancing the affordability factor.
Another customer corroborates the consistent quality of the food at China Garden, stating that "the food was really good and it's constantly good." This reliability in food quality is a significant advantage for local users seeking a Chinese takeout option they can depend on for a satisfying meal every time. This reviewer also mentions frequently ordering the dinner combinations, appreciating the variety they offer depending on their daily cravings. This suggests that China Garden provides a range of combination meals to cater to different preferences.
The service at China Garden is primarily focused on takeout, with pickup occurring outside the premises. This streamlined approach emphasizes convenience for customers who prefer to grab their food and go. The reviews do not mention any dine-in options, reinforcing its identity as a takeout-centric establishment. The outside pickup likely aims to provide a quick and efficient process for customers to receive their orders without needing to enter the restaurant.
In terms of environment, the reviews primarily focus on the quality and value of the food rather than the ambiance of the establishment itself, given its takeout-only nature. Customers can likely expect a functional space designed for efficient order preparation and pickup, rather than a focus on interior decor or a dine-in atmosphere. The emphasis is clearly on the food and the convenience of the takeout service.

If you haven't had the fried dumplings yet -- clear your schedule. For me chinese places are all about the starters. The dumplings, wonton soup and crab rangoons are easily the best in the area outside a couple choice places in Burlington. Where this spot always wins for me is affordability. You basically get twice what you pay for in the long run, and dishes like the general tso's chicken last me about a week in yummy leftovers
The food was really good and it's constantly good. I tend to get the dinner combinations most often, varies on what I want that day. It's takeout only, and pickup outside.
Have driven past this place for years. Unimpressive outside. Standard hole in the wall Chinese take out. Decided to stop the other day. Glad I did. Ordered a fairly traditional house low mien, broccoli and chicken, hot and sour soup. Everything was fixed fast and hot. Everything was classic take out. No surprises. Lots of meat in the chicken and broccoli. Prices standard. Definitely gonna be my go-to on the way home and in and out of Burlington area for Chinese to go.
Food was really good. Come here and order food every time in time. Consistent flavors and I think it might be one of the best Asian food in Vermont.
I'm new to Essex. These paranoids are still on full covid lockdown protocol. If they're going to not talk to you face to face after you've walked to their business and then make you wait outside in 15°F for your order, they don't deserve your business. Ostracize these people out of business.
