About China Garden

Welcome to China Garden, a Chinese restaurant located at 4055 E Calumet St suite e, Appleton, WI 54915, USA. China Garden aims to offer a variety of Chinese dishes to the local community in Appleton. For inquiries or to place an order, they can be contacted at (920) 380-0058 or +1 920-380-0058.

Based on the limited customer feedback available online, the experiences at China Garden have been notably negative. Two recent reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the quality and preparation of the food. These reviews highlight significant issues with multiple dishes, suggesting potential areas for improvement for the restaurant.

One reviewer detailed their disappointment with several items they ordered. The fried rice was described as "dry" and containing "tiny bits of dry pork," indicating a lack of moisture and potentially low-quality or overcooked ingredients. The beef dish, which was supposed to be a "special spicy Szechuan," reportedly "fell flat in flavor" and was considered "overpriced" for what was received. The reviewer also described the beef as being of "poor quality," leading to an unenjoyable meal that ultimately ended up being discarded. This feedback raises serious concerns about the flavor, texture, and quality of some of China Garden's main dishes.

The second review echoed these negative sentiments and extended the criticism to the sauces used in their dishes. This customer stated that "Their sauces are watery" and went as far as to say that "Basically every dish is a SOUP." This suggests a fundamental issue with the consistency and preparation of the sauces, which can significantly impact the overall taste and appeal of Chinese cuisine. Furthermore, this reviewer specifically called out the Hunan sauce, describing it as "sweeter than coca cola" and lacking any spice, which is contrary to the typical characteristics of Hunan sauce, known for its savory and often spicy profile. This customer summarized their experience by labeling China Garden as an "Awful place," indicating a high level of dissatisfaction.

Given the strong negative feedback in both of these reviews, it is challenging to ascertain positive aspects of the environment, services, or features of China Garden. The reviews are solely focused on the perceived poor quality of the food. There is no mention of the restaurant's ambiance, the friendliness or efficiency of the service, or any unique features that might be noteworthy. The lack of positive comments suggests that the primary focus of these customers' experiences was the unsatisfactory food quality.

Similarly, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or special deals that China Garden might be running. In the absence of any positive feedback or additional information, it is impossible to comment on aspects beyond the negative food experiences reported in these two reviews.

In conclusion, based on the limited recent customer feedback available, China Garden in Appleton, WI, appears to be facing significant challenges in terms of food quality and preparation. Customers have reported issues such as dry fried rice with poor-quality pork, Szechuan beef lacking flavor and being overpriced with poor-quality beef, and watery sauces across multiple dishes. The Hunan sauce was specifically criticized for being excessively sweet and lacking spice. These reviews paint a picture of a restaurant where the food quality is considerably below expectations, leading to a negative dining experience for these customers.

For local users in Appleton considering China Garden, it is important to be aware of these recent negative reviews. While individual experiences can vary, the consistency of the criticism regarding fundamental aspects of the food, such as dryness, lack of flavor, poor quality ingredients, and improperly prepared sauces, should be taken seriously. Without additional information or more positive recent feedback, it is difficult to recommend China Garden based on the opinions expressed in these reviews.

Prospective customers might want to consider these points carefully and perhaps look for more recent reviews from other sources to get a broader understanding of the current state of China Garden. If considering ordering from this establishment, it might be prudent to start with a small order or inquire about the preparation methods for specific dishes that have been mentioned negatively in these reviews. As there is no information about promotions or unique features, the decision to patronize China Garden should likely be based solely on the perceived quality of their food and service, which, according to the available feedback, requires significant improvement.

Fried rice was dry with tiny bits of dry pork. Beef was supposed to be special spicy szechuan but it fell flat in flavor and overpriced for what I received. Poor quality beef. I could not enjoy it and ended up throwing the rest away.

Their sauces are watery. Basically every dish is a SOUP. Also th hunan sauce was sweeter than coca cola, and had no spice. Awful place.

We just ordered takeout (delivery) from here and our food was amazing!!! Egg rolls, crab rangoons and mei fun were all great. My fortune cookie didn’t have a fortune in it ☹️ not their fault. 😊

You can tell the kitchen puts in lttle to no effort when it comes to dishes. As bland as you could get for american chinese food. We threw out our entrees after a few bites. Stay away from any beef dishes as the meat quality is dog food grade.

Ordered take-out, ready in 15 minutes, was still hot when I got home 20 minutes later. Got crab Rangoon and General Tso's, both were delicious! Comes with a lot of food!
