One reviewer described their meal as "terrible," specifically criticizing the "fried" rice for its unusually dark color and strange taste. They also found the Hunan chicken sauce to taste "off," suggesting the use of old oil or an improperly cleaned wok. Additionally, this customer noted the egg roll skin was excessively tough. The reviewer concluded by stating that the meal was one of the worst they had ever tasted and reported experiencing gastrointestinal issues afterward. They also found the cashier to be unfriendly and uninformed about the food.

Another customer expressed high disappointment after traveling across town to eat at China Garden. They reported that the chicken fried rice did not taste good at all and expressed uncertainty about the ingredients used, particularly the type of meat. This reviewer, who mentioned having enjoyed food from China Garden in the past (prior to the pandemic), noted a significant decline in quality over the years. As a fellow small business owner, they conveyed understanding of the challenges of maintaining quality and meeting demand but expressed higher expectations for China Garden. They reluctantly left a negative review due to their disappointing experience.

These reviews highlight significant issues with the food quality at China Garden. Concerns include the preparation and taste of the fried rice, the flavor of the Hunan chicken sauce, and the texture of the egg roll. The potential use of old oil or unclean cooking equipment is also suggested. Furthermore, one reviewer reported a negative physical reaction to the food, raising concerns about food safety or handling practices. The unfriendly and unknowledgeable demeanor of the cashier also detracts from the overall customer experience.

Given this feedback, potential customers should be aware of these recent experiences when considering dining at or ordering from China Garden. The reviews suggest a considerable drop in food quality over time, which is a significant concern for any restaurant. While past experiences might have been positive, the current feedback indicates a need for improvement in the kitchen and potentially in customer service.

Typically, a Chinese restaurant like China Garden would offer a menu featuring a variety of popular Chinese-American dishes. These often include appetizers such as spring rolls, dumplings, and egg rolls. Soups like wonton soup, egg drop soup, and hot and sour soup are common. Main courses usually consist of dishes featuring chicken, beef, pork, and seafood, prepared with various vegetables and sauces like sweet and sour, Kung Pao, General Tso's, and Szechuan. The food was terrible especially the “fried” rice. It was the darkest fried rice I’ve ever seen and had a strange taste. The same goes for the hunan chicken, sauce tasted off as if the oil used was old or the wok not cleaned properly from prior food orders. The egg roll skin was very tough which I’m not sure how you can mess that up. If the cook is their regular they’d better off with someone preparing the food. Needless to say, it was some of the worst tasting I’ve had. To top it off, something in their food gave me diarrhea. Lastly, I found the cashier to be unfriendly and not knowledgeable about their food.

I came all the way across town to get that food and I can say I’m highly disappointed. I almost gave it back while I was there, but I continued to take it with me and eat it. that chicken fried rice did not taste well at all. I’m very disappointed. Not sure what you all used to make it or what type of meat it really is. I’ve had Chinese food from you in the past that I enjoyed that was years ago though prior to the pandemic so I’m not sure where you all are today but that’s not the way to go with the food. . Just a heads up, the quality seriously dropped over the years. From one small business owner to another, I know it’s hard to keep up with things and demand, we go through a lot as small business owners but I expected more from you all. I really hate to even leave this review.

I would highly recommend that this Chinese Restaurant NOT be an option for you and your family. Food quality is REALLY bad, they over charge you and theirs hidden fees, so please pay attention before paying. The food is VERY bland, disgusting , and customer service is HORRIBLE especially the young lady that’s taking orders. She’s UNFRIENDLY, and should not be the face of the restaurant. Just like Wendy’s that was in the same area , they need to shutdown immediately!! This is just an heads up, you are going to be wasting your time /money!

Rice and broccoli tasted fine, and they were fast, but the chicken tasted weird and bland. Don’t recommend.
