They also note that the delivery is fast and the food arrives piping hot, indicating a positive experience with the food quality and delivery service.
However, another reviewer had a significantly negative experience with customer service. They described the person answering the phone as rude and unpleasant to deal with. Additionally, they reported an issue with a delivery driver who was also rude over the phone, delivered to the wrong apartment, and then demanded a tip. This negative customer service experience was a major deterrent for this reviewer, leading to a poor overall impression of the establishment.
In summary, China Garden appears to offer high-quality food and efficient delivery according to one reviewer. However, another customer reported very poor customer service both over the phone and during delivery, which significantly impacted their experience. Customer Reviews
We always get delivery. This place rocks. Everything we get from here has been amazing. I just got Chicken Mei Fun and it is perfectly made. The Crab Ragon is amazing as well. Literally everything. And it comes fast and is still piping hot. Nice Job.
Customer service is HORRIBLE. The lady doesn’t speak nicely with customers at all. It’s almost as she’s in a fight with someone. I have ordered 3x hoping my experience would be better but it just got worse. Delivery guy demands tip, which I don’t understand bc he was rude over the phone when he called to say he was outside and went to a whole different apartment to deliver the food. Thier customer service is a whole turnoff.
Tried this spot the other day and it was better than I expected. I've been there twice now but have only tried the chicken and broccoli. That made it pretty good both times. The portions on my second try felt a bit less though. Otherwise this spot has been good
I love this spot! The Singapore Chow Mei Fun is excellent! The fried half chicken is great! Food is prepared fast.
I see a lot of people commenting about questionable customer service and how the delivery man demands a tip, and not enough people commenting on the food itself and the price. First and foremost, for anyone who's lived in NYC for any reasonable length of time and is old enough to understand how the world works, tips are an unspoken rule. Sure, you don't legally have to give a tip, but tips are expected, and people's wages are based on that expectation. Unless the delivery guy messes up your order, is extremely late without apologizing for it, or is rude and nasty for no apparent reason, you have to tip. And if you don't tip, I totally get why he'd cuss you out in his own language. While you're working in an air conditioned room behind your computer, he's busting his butt in a hot kitchen and riding around doing deliveries all day, dealing with all kinds of people, and probably making minimum wage as his base pay. Tips are his livelihood and you ought to get off your high horse and just tip the man, unless there is truly a legitimate reason not to. From my experience, I've never had issues with this place as far as customer service or as far as deliveries. More importantly, I think the food is good and the quantity of food you get is for a very fair price. You get a bigger meal for cheaper than many other places around here, and it tastes good. Have they ever been nasty to any customers? Perhaps. Customers can be a headache to deal with sometime and workers who serve them are people who, 95% of the time put up with all kinds of BS, but 5% of the time need to let some steam out. I've never personally had a bad experience with them as of yet. I think it's a good place and I recommend it. And if you order delivery, don't be a snob. Tip the guy at least 10-15%! They're not making millions there. Your small tip goes a long way for them. Be considerate of others.
