About China Fun

Welcome to China Fun, a Chinese restaurant situated at 5716 Wyalong Dr in Charlotte, North Carolina (28227, USA). As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, China Fun aims to serve the local community with a variety of Chinese culinary offerings. Whether you are looking for a quick takeout meal or a place to dine in, China Fun provides options to suit your needs. You can contact them at their phone number: (704) 573-0002 or their mobile phone: +1 704-573-0002 for inquiries or to place an order.

Based on the available customer reviews, opinions on China Fun are somewhat mixed, particularly concerning value and hygiene. One reviewer mentioned that the food quality is "great" and specifically recommended the "Triple Delight" dish as outstanding. This suggests that China Fun has the potential to offer flavorful and enjoyable Chinese cuisine that can satisfy customers' palates. However, this positive feedback was tempered by a significant concern regarding the portion sizes relative to the price. The reviewer felt that the portions were too small for the cost, suggesting that for a slightly higher price, a customer might find better value at a buffet. Despite this, the reviewer still recommended the Triple Delight for its taste, indicating a potential trade-off between quality and quantity for some dishes.

Another critical review raised serious concerns about the restaurant's sanitation practices. This customer noted that China Fun had a sanitation score of 93.0, which, while seemingly above a failing grade, was enough to deter the reviewer from eating the food they had already ordered and paid for. The reviewer mentioned observing "rags all over the sink where they cooked the food" and an external smell of bleach. These observations led the customer to refuse the food and vow never to return. This review presents a significant red flag regarding the hygiene standards at China Fun, which potential customers should consider.

The same negative review also addressed a comparison to New York-style Chinese food. The reviewer strongly disagreed with a previous comment suggesting a resemblance, stating emphatically that China Fun's food is "not" and "no where close to NY Chinese food period." This highlights that expectations regarding the style and authenticity of the cuisine may vary, and customers seeking a specific regional style might not find it at China Fun.

The contrasting nature of these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall impression of China Fun. One customer praises the food quality while criticizing the portion sizes and value, whereas the other raises serious hygiene concerns that overshadowed any potential enjoyment of the food. No information is provided in these reviews about the ambiance or cleanliness of the dining area itself, aside from the specific sanitation observations made by the concerned customer. Therefore, potential dine-in customers lack information about the environment they might expect.

Regarding services, the reviews primarily focus on the food and hygiene aspects rather than the quality of customer service. One reviewer mentioned that "the people are great," which suggests a positive interaction with the staff, at least in terms of friendliness. However, the second reviewer's experience of being looked at "like I was crazy" for refusing to eat the food due to sanitation concerns might indicate a lack of understanding or empathy from the staff in that particular situation. Overall, a comprehensive assessment of the service quality is not fully available based on these limited reviews.

In terms of features, the "Triple Delight" dish is highlighted as a great option, indicating that China Fun may have some signature dishes that are well-received for their flavor. However, the issue of portion size for this dish, as pointed out by one reviewer, could be a drawback for value-conscious customers. The sanitation score of 93.0 is a factual piece of information that potential customers can consider, although interpretations of what constitutes an acceptable score may vary. The observation of cleaning practices, such as rags near the cooking area and the smell of bleach, provides further insight into the restaurant's hygiene practices, albeit from a single, negative experience.

There is no information provided in the reviews regarding any promotional offers, discounts, or special menu items at China Fun. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly at (704) 573-0002 or +1 704-573-0002 to inquire. It would also be beneficial to check online ordering platforms or any potential social media presence for China Fun to see if any promotions are advertised there.

In conclusion, China Fun at 5716 Wyalong Dr, Charlotte, NC, appears to offer Chinese cuisine that is considered "great" in terms of taste by at least one reviewer, with the Triple Delight being a recommended dish. However, a significant concern has been raised regarding the portion sizes relative to the price, suggesting a potential issue with value for money. More alarmingly, another review detailed concerning observations about the restaurant's sanitation practices, including a sanitation score of 93.0 and the presence of rags near cooking areas, leading the customer to refuse their order. Potential customers should weigh the positive feedback on food taste against the negative comments regarding portion size and, more importantly, sanitation. Given the serious nature of the hygiene concerns raised, it would be prudent for individuals considering dining at or ordering from China Fun to make an informed decision based on their own comfort levels and perhaps seek more recent reviews or information about the restaurant's current practices. Contacting the restaurant directly for any clarifications or information about their current standards and offerings is also advisable.

The only reason no five star was the amount of food for the price. The foods great! The people are great but in this day everyone is cutting portion sizes. IMO if you're going to raise prices then don't cut portion sizes. For the price I could e gone to a buffet for just a small bit more. I do recommend the triple delight great dish just too small of a portion. Other than portion size the food is great!

This place has a sanitation score of 93.0!! I did not realize it until after I ordered and paid for my food! I simply did not eat it .. it looked and it smelled good.. but I just could not chance it!! They were looking at me like I was crazy! I said don’t worry y’all can keep that 12.00 I’m good!! I will never go there again! I notice they had rags all over the sink where they cooked the food! And all outside smelled like bleach! I read a review that someone said the food reminded them of NY Chinese food! They are not! And no where close to NY Chinese food period!!

This review is overdue. I stopped by for dinner on the evening of Saturday, 12-24-22 after shopping. I wanted my money back after I got home. This was some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered egg drop soup and shrimp egg foo young. The brown gravy that came with the egg foo young had a layer of grease on the top. The gravy was so hot that it not only burned a hole through the Styrofoam container, but it burned my hand once I took the container out of the bag and the lid wasn't on tight, causing the gravy to spill on my hands. It was a mess with leaking gravy in the bag. Never again!

Ordered them on Doordash. I don't usually eat Chinese food, and it's for the same reason I'm leaving a bad review here: it tends to be low-effort, low quality food. It occasionally is really good depending on the location, but it's usually hit or miss, 0 or 100. I ordered the 4 seasons, basically 4 types of meat with rice. The beef was dry. The shrimp was okay. The zucchini was a good texture. What ruined it all was the extremely salty sauce that they put it in. It reminded me of what dog food tends to be in, this heavy, gravy-like sauce. It's awful and ruins the flavor of the food that's in it. I considered rinsing off the food to actually enjoy it. I can also taste what seems like the flour that's cooked with the food, like it wasn't thoroughly incorporated enough. The "fried rice" that's meant to go with it was yellow rice with hardly any included vegetable. I'm noticing that only beef and shrimp are in this, too, no chicken or pork at all. I would get a refund if I could. Would also have made dinner if I could; I just moved so I have no groceries.

Food looked good but was not good. Me and my cousin ordered the general tso and rice from here that same night we had diarrhea and was vomiting. This was all we had ate that day and instantly got sick not too long after eating this. I do not recommend.
