About China Fun

China Fun is a Chinese restaurant located at 3025 Ashley Town Center Dr #101 in Charleston, South Carolina. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, China Fun offers a variety of Chinese cuisine options for both dine-in and takeout, as indicated by the available customer reviews. The restaurant can be contacted at (843) 763-4955 or +1 843-763-4955 for inquiries or to place an order. Recent customer feedback provides a mixed perspective on the dining experience at China Fun, highlighting both positive aspects related to food and service, as well as significant concerns regarding the environment and safety outside the premises.

One customer who dined in at China Fun shared a positive experience regarding the food and service. They ordered seafood with rice and an egg roll, noting that the food was delivered to their table hot and delicious. They also praised the staff as helpful and friendly, which contributed to a positive impression of the restaurant as potentially a "mom and pop" establishment. This suggests that China Fun may prioritize customer service and the quality of their freshly prepared dishes. The customer also observed that a majority of patrons were either picking up takeout orders or ordering to go, indicating a strong takeout business.

However, this positive review also included observations about the interior of the restaurant. The customer noted that the inside appeared "somewhat dated" and that the dining area had "extra out of place boxes and clutter on the table." While these environmental factors did not detract from their enjoyment of the food and the perceived good value, they do suggest that the restaurant's ambiance might not be a primary focus or that upkeep of the dining area could be improved. The overall sentiment of this review was positive regarding the core offerings of food and value.

In stark contrast, another customer reported a significantly negative experience, primarily related to the environment outside the restaurant and the cleanliness inside. This reviewer described feeling unsafe due to people loitering and "screaming" at them upon arrival. This serious concern about personal safety could deter potential customers from visiting the establishment. The reviewer expressed regret for not opting for delivery instead, further emphasizing the negative impact of the external environment. Inside the restaurant, this customer found it to be "dirty," adding to the overall negative impression. The specific incident of a child rolling a shopping cart into a car outside further paints a picture of an uncontrolled environment surrounding the restaurant, which could understandably discourage patrons.

Considering these contrasting reviews, it is evident that while China Fun may offer delicious food and friendly service to some customers, there are significant issues related to the restaurant's environment, both inside and outside, that need to be taken into account. The dated interior and clutter in the dining area, while not affecting the food quality for one reviewer, might be a deterrent for others. More concerning are the safety issues raised by the second reviewer regarding loitering and disruptive behavior outside the restaurant, as well as the reported lack of cleanliness inside.

Regarding the services offered by China Fun, it appears that both dine-in and takeout are available. The first reviewer dined in and received table service, while also noting the high volume of takeout orders. The second reviewer's regret about not getting delivery suggests that this service is also an option. The availability of both dine-in and takeout caters to different customer preferences and needs within the Charleston community.

Features of China Fun that can be identified from the reviews include the potential for delicious food, as mentioned by the first customer regarding the seafood with rice and egg roll. The friendly and helpful staff also stand out as a positive feature. Additionally, the perception of "good value" in relation to the food received is noteworthy. However, negative features include the dated interior, clutter in the dining area, reported lack of cleanliness inside the restaurant, and significant safety concerns due to loitering and disruptive behavior outside.

Promotional information is not mentioned in either of the provided customer reviews. There are no details about any special offers, discounts, or loyalty programs that China Fun might be currently running. To obtain information about any potential promotions, local users would need to contact the restaurant directly using the phone numbers provided. This would be the most reliable way to learn about any current deals that could enhance their dining experience, whether for dine-in or takeout.

In conclusion, China Fun in Charleston, South Carolina, is a Chinese restaurant offering both dine-in and takeout services. While one customer reported enjoying the delicious food, friendly staff, and good value, they also noted a dated interior with some clutter. Another customer, however, had a significantly negative experience due to feeling unsafe outside the restaurant because of loitering individuals and reported the interior as dirty. These contrasting views suggest that while the food and service might be satisfactory for some, the environment of the restaurant and the surrounding area could be major concerns for others. Local users considering China Fun should weigh these factors carefully. For information on any current promotions, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

For residents of Charleston looking for a Chinese restaurant, China Fun presents a complex picture based on recent feedback. The potential for delicious food and friendly service is a positive aspect. However, the serious safety concerns due to loitering outside and the reported issues with cleanliness inside are significant drawbacks that potential customers should consider. If you are considering visiting China Fun, it might be prudent to assess the current situation or opt for delivery if that feels safer. For any information on the menu or special offers, contacting the restaurant directly is advisable.

Ordered at the back counter seafood with rice and an egg roll. Food was delivered to my table nice and hot. Food was delicious and all the staff were helpful and friendly. This place gave me the impression that it was a mom and pop restaurant. As I ate my food I noticed the majority of the customers were either picking up or ordering to go. Inside it looks somewhat dated and in the dining area I could see extra out of place boxes and clutter on the table. Over good food and good value.

There were people loitering outside. Screaming at me when I came in. I did not feel safe actually. I wish I had gotten delivery. Restaurant was dirty, and the people outside definitely discouraged and patrons from coming in. So sad. One kid rolled a food lion shopping cart into a car .

Tasty Chinese food! We ordered Rangoons and 2 meals. It was a little pricy $35 for a pickup but this restraint gave us shrimp egg rolls for free!! Food was ready quickly but it was fresh and still warm. Certainly recommend this place for lunch or after-work dinner.

I’ve been coming here since middle school. Went to school with one of the girls about 25 years ago. Been dedicated ever since. They wrap their egg rolls in a napkin so they stay crispy and not greasy!! I love this place

I ordered Chicken Chow Mein and was given soggy grey chicken soaking in water with onions and cucumbers and no noodles. Extremely disappointed and had to order a whole new dinner from another restaurant.
