About China Food
Welcome to China Food, a charming and inviting Chinese restaurant located at 410 W McMillan St, Cincinnati, OH 45219, USA. As a valued establishment within the local Chinese Restaurant category, China Food offers a delightful dining experience characterized by its cozy ambiance, affordable prices, and exceptionally friendly service. Whether you're a resident of Cincinnati or just passing through, China Food provides a welcoming space to enjoy a variety of Chinese dishes.
The atmosphere at China Food is frequently described as warm and inviting, making it a comfortable spot for a casual meal. Patrons have noted the pleasant lighting, which contributes to a nice overall ambiance, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your dining experience. This "cozy, nice little spot" offers a more intimate setting compared to larger, more bustling establishments, allowing for a more personal and relaxed meal.
One of the standout features of China Food, according to customer feedback, is the affordability of its alcoholic beverages. This makes it an attractive option for those looking to enjoy a drink with their meal without breaking the bank. While the specific types of alcoholic beverages available are not detailed, the consistent mention of their reasonable prices suggests a commitment to providing value to their customers.
When it comes to the cuisine at China Food, the reviews indicate a generally positive experience with several dishes receiving high praise. The eggplant, in particular, has been highlighted as being "cooked to perfection," suggesting a mastery of this particular vegetable dish. The overall taste of the food is described as "good" and having a "great taste," often likened to "very home made," which implies a focus on traditional flavors and cooking methods.
However, as with any dining experience, there can be variations in individual preferences. One customer noted their disappointment with the beef tendon, finding it "a bit too hard." This highlights the importance of personal taste and the fact that not every dish will appeal to every palate. Additionally, the unavailability of the spicy cucumber on one occasion suggests that certain menu items might be subject to availability.
An interesting point of feedback concerns a dish described as an "Asian-style hamburger." The customer had anticipated this dish to be served with steamed bread, a more traditional Asian preparation. Instead, it was served on a regular hamburger bun, reportedly from a common supermarket. This suggests a potential fusion or adaptation of certain dishes that might not align with all expectations but could be an attempt to cater to a broader range of tastes.
The service at China Food consistently receives glowing reviews, often cited as a major highlight of the dining experience. Customers describe the service as "very friendly" and note that the staff treats patrons "like their own," creating a welcoming and familial atmosphere. The attentiveness of the staff is also commended, with reviewers mentioning that they "always make sure I’m taken care of." This personal touch and genuine care for customers contribute significantly to the overall positive impression of China Food.
One particularly heartwarming anecdote illustrates the exceptional customer service at China Food: a customer mentioned that when they order egg drop soup to go after their meal, the staff sometimes offers it to them for free. This act of generosity and care underscores the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction and fostering a sense of loyalty among its patrons. It's these small gestures that can leave a lasting positive impression and encourage repeat business.
Beyond the excellent service, the food itself is a significant draw, with one reviewer specifically mentioning craving their chicken soup. This suggests that China Food has certain signature dishes that are particularly popular and keep customers coming back for more. While the menu details are not fully provided in the reviews, the positive comments about the eggplant, the overall "great taste" of the food, and the craving for the chicken soup indicate a range of well-prepared and flavorful options.
For local users in Cincinnati, particularly those residing in or near the 45219 area, China Food offers a convenient and enjoyable dining option. The restaurant's location at 410 W McMillan St is accessible, and one reviewer specifically mentioned "plenty of parking," which is a significant advantage in an urban environment. This ease of access further enhances the appeal of China Food as a local dining destination.
In summary, China Food stands out as a cozy Chinese restaurant in Cincinnati that offers a combination of affordable prices, particularly for alcoholic beverages, and genuinely friendly, home-style service. While some dishes might have slight variations from traditional expectations, the overall quality of the food is well-regarded, with standout items like the eggplant and a much-craved chicken soup. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the attentive and caring staff, makes China Food a place where customers feel welcomed and valued. For those seeking a comfortable and budget-friendly Chinese meal with a personal touch, China Food is definitely a place to consider trying.

Customer Reviews
I recently visited this cozy, nice little spot. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right amount of lighting to create a nice ambiance. One of the highlights of the evening was the incredibly affordable prices for alcoholic beverages. As for the food, it was decent overall, with a few standout dishes. I particularly enjoyed the eggplant, which was cooked to perfection. However, I was a bit disappointed with the beef tendon, which was a bit too hard for my liking. I was also expecting an Asian-style hamburger made with steamed bread, but it was instead served on a regular hamburger bun from Walmart. And unfortunately spicy cucumber was out of stock. Overall, the experience was pleasant, and I would recommend this spot to others looking for a cozy place with plenty of parking and affordable drinks
Good food. Great taste. Very friendly service! Def a place you will want to try. Tastes very home made. The staff treats you like their own. They always make sure I’m taken care of. Sometimes when I order egg drop soup to go after ordering my meal, they’ll give it to me for free! Which shows how much they care and that’s great customer service. I will be coming back mainly because I also crave their chicken soup!
Solid takeout. Not the best Tso’s/sesame/orange chicken spot and the boneless spareribs left much to be desired. Good Phad Thai (chx), fried rice, lo mein, Mongolian etc. Overall it’s my go to if I don’t wanna walkout broke like Sichaun Palace.
Everything I've ordered from here so far has been top notch. The dumplings are especially great given that you can tell they're made from scratch, having a thicker exterior. I haven't found another standard Chinese restaurant that has that level of quality.
Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants around Clifton. It has both American Chinese and traditional Chinese menus to choose from. It has got variety and large selection of dishes in both the menus. The staff were friendly and helpful and service was prompt. One thing to note is that quantity in some of the dishes can be huge and can be too much for a single person, so you can always share them and still have enough!
