About China Express

Welcome to China Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 123 Trade Ct, Mooresville, NC 28117, USA. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, China Express offers a variety of Chinese dishes, primarily for takeout, as suggested by customer reviews mentioning lunch orders to go. They can be contacted at (704) 799-2252 or +1 704-799-2252 for placing orders or inquiries.

Based on the available online customer reviews, China Express in Mooresville presents a somewhat conflicting image. One customer, who was craving Chinese food during their lunch break, shared a decidedly negative first impression. This reviewer noted that the restaurant smelled appealing, with scents of good wings and sesame chicken, raising their expectations. However, their dining experience did not live up to this initial impression. They ordered chicken wings and found that while the exterior was crispy due to some kind of marinade, the taste was "off." Upon inspecting the interior of the wing, the customer was concerned by its appearance, suggesting it might not have been freshly prepared and had been sitting for a while, leading to an immediate loss of appetite. Furthermore, this reviewer mentioned that the red meat in their rice (assumed to be pork) was chewy. Based on this initial and negative experience, the customer stated they would not be returning and advised others to consider calling and inquiring about the freshness of the food before placing an order. They explicitly mentioned that their first impression was significant and led to their decision not to patronize the restaurant again.

In contrast to this negative account, another customer expressed strong satisfaction with China Express, stating, "Love this place!" This reviewer indicated that they repeatedly order lunch to go and have found the food to be "always deliciously consistent." They specifically praised the General Tso's chicken and orange chicken as being favorites. This positive feedback suggests that China Express is capable of producing well-received and consistently good dishes, at least according to this particular customer's experience with their regular lunch orders.

Considering these two reviews, the experience at China Express in Mooresville appears to be inconsistent. One customer had a very negative first impression, citing concerns about the freshness and taste of the chicken wings and the texture of the meat in the rice. This suggests potential issues with food quality control or the preparation of certain dishes on that particular occasion. On the other hand, another customer has had repeated positive experiences with takeout lunches, specifically enjoying the General Tso's chicken and orange chicken, indicating that these dishes might be reliable choices and that the restaurant can indeed provide delicious and consistent food.

For local users in Mooresville seeking a Chinese restaurant, China Express presents a mixed bag based on this limited feedback. If you are considering ordering dishes like General Tso's chicken or orange chicken for lunch takeout, the positive review suggests a potentially satisfying and consistent experience. However, if you are leaning towards other items like chicken wings or rice dishes with red meat, the negative review raises concerns about freshness and quality. The discrepancy between these two experiences highlights the importance of potentially trying the restaurant yourself or seeking more reviews to get a broader sense of the typical food quality and consistency.

The available reviews do not provide any details about the restaurant's environment, any services beyond takeout (although dine-in might be an option), specific features, or any promotional offers. Therefore, we cannot comment on these aspects. The primary information we have is the contrasting feedback on the food quality of certain dishes.

Local residents considering China Express might want to take into account the specific dishes mentioned in the positive review if those align with their preferences. However, the negative experience, particularly the concerns about the freshness of the chicken wings and the quality of the meat in the rice, should also be considered. It might be prudent, as suggested by the dissatisfied customer, to inquire about the freshness of specific items when placing an order, especially if you have concerns based on this feedback. Ultimately, the decision to try China Express may depend on your preferred dishes and your tolerance for potential inconsistency in food quality.

In conclusion, China Express in Mooresville, NC, has received contrasting reviews from its customers. While one patron consistently enjoys their takeout lunches, particularly the General Tso's and orange chicken, another had a very negative first experience with the chicken wings and rice, raising concerns about food freshness and quality. Local users should be aware of this mixed feedback when deciding whether to patronize China Express.

While on lunch I was craving some Chinese food. Ironically it’s an American staple and we consume a ton! As I placed my order and waited impatiently my mouth was already watering. The restaurant smelled like good wings and sesame chicken. The first bite was different but didn’t want to bash it until I was sure. The chicken was certainly marinated in something that made it crispy but the taste was off. Upon breaking the wing the interior of the wing looked like something that’s been sitting there for a while. I immediately lost my appetite. As for the rice the red meat was chewy as I’m assuming was the pork. I’m not saying all of their menu items would be this bad but I would think twice and probably call and ask about freshness before ordering. I’m never going back as the first impression means a lot.

Tried over charging my card, $17 for combo sesame chicken that was $10 on their menu. Charged me for fried rice I didn’t ask for. Charged me an additional amount for lo mein that was included in my combo. They are not slick !! $61 in total I paid. Check before you tap your card cause they’ll take as much as they can get away with! rude and miserable people taking advantage of people which is stealing and a crime !! lucky they’re not shut down yet.
