About China Express

Welcome to China Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 418 S Jefferies Blvd in Walterboro, SC 29488, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, China Express primarily offers takeout services to cater to individuals and families in the Walterboro area seeking convenient and readily available Chinese cuisine.

Based on available customer feedback, China Express appears to be a smaller establishment where the interaction with staff can be a notable aspect of the experience. One reviewer described a pleasant encounter with the staff, specifically mentioning the kindness of the person assisting them and even receiving extra condiments. This suggests that positive and friendly customer service can be a characteristic of China Express, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for those picking up their orders.

The primary service offered by China Express, according to the information available, is takeout. This allows customers to enjoy their Chinese food in the comfort of their homes or other locations. The limited information does not explicitly detail the ambiance or environment of the dine-in area, implying that takeout is the main mode of service. Therefore, local users looking for a quick and easy way to enjoy Chinese cuisine in Walterboro may find China Express a convenient option for picking up their favorite dishes.

One crucial piece of information to note about China Express is that they operate on a cash-only basis. This is explicitly mentioned in one of the customer reviews, advising future patrons to come prepared with cash as other forms of payment may not be accepted. This is an important detail for local users to be aware of when planning to order from China Express.

Customer experiences with the food quality at China Express seem to be varied. One reviewer expressed initial positivity, indicating a desire to return and explore more of the menu. This suggests that there may be dishes on the menu that are well-received and enjoyable. However, another customer reported a significantly negative experience with a to-go order, stating that they were missing items, received attitude when returning to rectify the mistake, and ultimately found the food to be overcooked and of poor quality, leading to it being discarded. This contrasting feedback highlights a potential inconsistency in food quality and order accuracy that local users may want to consider.

The menu at China Express is not detailed in the provided information, but as a Chinese restaurant, it likely includes a range of popular dishes such as fried rice, noodle dishes, various meat and vegetable stir-fries, and possibly soups and appetizers. Without specific menu details, local users may want to inquire directly with the restaurant about their offerings to see if they align with their culinary preferences.

Given the mixed reviews, local users in Walterboro may want to approach China Express with an open mind. The positive mention of friendly service is a potential draw, especially for those who value pleasant interactions. However, the negative feedback regarding order accuracy and food quality is a factor that should also be taken into consideration. It might be prudent for first-time customers to place a smaller order initially to assess the quality and accuracy before placing larger orders.

As there is no information provided about any specific promotions or special offers at China Express, local users interested in such details would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers: (843) 549-2598 or mobile phone +1 843-549-2598. Calling ahead can also help confirm their operating hours and any changes to their cash-only policy.

In conclusion, China Express in Walterboro, SC, is a Chinese restaurant primarily offering takeout service. While some customers have appreciated the friendly service, there have been contrasting reports regarding food quality and order accuracy. It is also important to remember that China Express operates on a cash-only basis. Local users looking for a takeout option for Chinese food in Walterboro may consider trying China Express, perhaps starting with a smaller order to gauge their experience. This is a great little place! The Lady behind the curtain was very nice and gave me extra mustard sauce! 🤤 First time here, so I'll have to come back and check out more of the menu as I can 😁 One side note: They are Cash Only! Which, if memory serves me correctly, can still be used to buy commodities and such... And don't forget to tip either! It's just being nice šŸ™‚

We ordered an array of dishes to go. We got back to the hotel. They didn't give us all we ordered. Called they said they knew they messed up. Went back for their mistake and got attitude. They messed up and it was my fault. Got back to hotel food was overcooked and gross. Threw most of it away. Waste of money! Go somewhere else!

Ordered General Tso’s chicken, as they labeled it, but it didn’t resemble any General Tso’s I’ve had before, paired with chicken fried rice. The food lacked flavor except for overwhelming spice. After five bites, I gave some to my dogs and tossed the rest. Hours later, all three dogs were vomiting outside. My largest dog, who ate the most, was still unwell the next day—he’s a greedy eater, so he likely had the lion’s share. I spent the next day nauseous, nearly vomiting, thankful I only ate a little. This was my second try at this place; the first time, the food was also bland. I believe in second chances, but mistakes or not, I’m done here. Walterboro lacks Ascendancy doesn’t have a single decent Chinese restaurant. I’d have been better off buying General Tso’s at Walmart—it tastes better and doesn’t make you sick.

I have been going here since I was in diapers and I wouldn't choose or trust any other Chinese place to do it better. It would be nice if they would take card payments though. So CASH ONLY.
