About China Express

China Express is a Chinese restaurant situated at 170 E Carmel Drive in Carmel, Indiana (zip code 46032). As a local establishment in the Chinese restaurant category, China Express offers a range of dishes that typically fall under Chinese-American cuisine. They can be contacted at (317) 848-0189 or their mobile number +1 317-848-0189 for inquiries or to place orders.

Based on the available customer reviews, the experiences at China Express appear to be largely negative, with concerns raised about the quality and taste of the food. One reviewer described their experience as the "absolute worst 'chinese' food" they had ever encountered. This customer specifically mentioned several dishes that did not meet their expectations. The General Tso's chicken was reported to be unlike what they expected in terms of appearance and taste. The crab Rangoon was criticized for containing only a thin layer of cream cheese without any imitation crab meat. Additionally, the spring rolls were described as tasting "4 days old," suggesting a lack of freshness. This reviewer, noting the restaurant's location in Carmel, expressed disappointment with the perceived quality.

Another customer shared a similar sentiment, recounting a revisit to China Express after a decade, hoping for improvement. Unfortunately, their experience indicated no positive change, stating that the food was "the exact same food" as they remembered from their previous visit. While this reviewer acknowledged that the portion sizes were large, they emphasized a significant lack of flavor in the food, echoing a common complaint found in other reviews (though these other reviews are not provided in the given information). This customer's dissatisfaction was so strong that their wife reportedly fed her meal to their dogs, highlighting a significant issue with the palatability of the food.

Given these reviews, it is challenging to provide a positive description of the food quality at China Express based solely on this information. The feedback points to potential issues with the preparation, ingredients, and freshness of several dishes, including popular items like General Tso's chicken, crab Rangoon, and spring rolls. The recurring theme of flavorless food is also a significant concern raised by at least one reviewer.

Information regarding the environment and services offered by China Express is limited to their address and contact numbers. The reviews do not provide any details about the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, or the quality of their customer service beyond the food itself. It can be inferred that China Express likely offers standard Chinese restaurant services such as dine-in and takeout. Delivery service is a possibility but is not explicitly mentioned in the provided text. Potential customers seeking information about the dining environment or available services may need to contact the restaurant directly.

In terms of features, based on the negative reviews, it is difficult to identify any particularly positive features. The large portion sizes mentioned by one reviewer could be considered a feature, though this was overshadowed by the lack of flavor and overall poor quality of the food. The dishes mentioned in the negative reviews, such as General Tso's chicken, crab Rangoon, and spring rolls, are likely part of their regular menu offerings. However, the execution of these dishes, according to the provided feedback, appears to be a significant drawback.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or new menu items at China Express would need to contact the restaurant directly at (317) 848-0189 or +1 317-848-0189 to inquire.

In conclusion, based on the limited information available, particularly the two customer reviews, China Express in Carmel, Indiana, has received negative feedback regarding the quality and taste of its food. Concerns have been raised about the preparation, ingredients, freshness, and overall flavor of dishes like General Tso's chicken, crab Rangoon, and spring rolls. While the restaurant may offer large portion sizes, this does not seem to compensate for the perceived lack of quality. Potential local users should consider this feedback when deciding whether to dine at or order from China Express. Further investigation or perhaps more recent and positive reviews from other sources might be beneficial to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of this Chinese restaurant.

This is the absolute worst "chinese" food I've ever had. General taos chicken didn't look or taste right, a very thin layer of cream cheese with not even a little fake crab thrown in for the crab Rangoon and the spring rolls tasted 4 days old. For a restaurant in carmel i really expected better

We tried this place 10 years ago and decided to try it again to see it it improved. It did not improve at all, It the exact same food. The portion are large but it just the food has no flavor at all. This is a common statment made in other reviews. I ate my meal, my wife is feeding hers meal to the dogs.

The owner was very rude in the phone I still went after work. As you can see who wants giant size green peppers and onions and carrots. These were rubbery. The meat didn’t taste fresh the best thing was only the rice. I should have noticed he had no business for a Thursday evening when it’s busy and people are picking up food in their way to wherever. Don’t GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to McDonald’s instead.

The food We ordered was ok, but the garlic chicken I ordered was too salty for me. The garlic chicken was drenched in soy sauce. I couldn’t eat the rice. My son ordered House chicken with steamed rice. He couldn’t finish all too. He said the sauce was too sweet. Besides that, the dumplings was ok.

It’s perfect. This is the best Chinese place in Carmel. The other places make the worst fried rice that is yellow with steamed chicken and sad frozen vegetables. This place is so good. They’re nice and it’s an open kitchen so you can watch them make your meal fresh. WONDERFUL!
