About China Express

Welcome to China Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 1659 Buffalo Lake Rd #2537 in Sanford, North Carolina (NC 27332), USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Sanford community, China Express offers a variety of Chinese dishes. They can be contacted at (919) 499-0885 or their mobile number +1 919-499-0885 for inquiries and to place orders.

Details regarding the environment and ambiance of China Express are not explicitly provided in the available customer reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants offer a casual setting for dining, but specific information about the décor, seating capacity, or overall atmosphere at China Express is not mentioned. Potential customers interested in dining in may wish to contact the restaurant directly for more information or look for publicly available photos online.

In terms of services, the reviews indicate that China Express offers takeout service, as both reviewers mentioned picking up their orders. One reviewer specifically mentioned their order being "hot and ready" upon pickup. It is reasonable to assume that they also provide dine-in service for customers who prefer to eat at the restaurant location. Delivery service is not mentioned in the provided reviews, so it is unclear if they offer this directly or through third-party platforms. If delivery is a preferred option, it would be advisable to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about its availability.

The culinary features of China Express, as reflected in the customer reviews, present a somewhat inconsistent picture in terms of food quality. One customer reported a negative experience, stating that they had been "getting ripped off lately." They mentioned that their chicken wings were overcooked on two occasions and, more concerningly, that a significant portion (90%) of their General Tso's chicken consisted of the breading rather than actual chicken. This customer expressed disappointment, especially as they were trying to introduce the dish to their toddler and wanted them to taste chicken, not fried starch. This review raises concerns about the quality of ingredients and the preparation of some of their dishes.

In contrast, another customer had a positive experience, stating that the place was "great" and "way better" than another local Chinese restaurant. They praised the friendly service of the person who took their order, the accuracy of the order, and the fact that the food was hot and ready upon pickup. This reviewer also found the portion sizes to be "really great for the price" for the Lunch Orange and General Tso chicken with rice they ordered. This positive feedback suggests that China Express can provide satisfactory food and service at times.

A specific feature mentioned in the positive review was their lunch specials, as the customer ordered from the "Lunch Orange and General Tso chicken" menu. This indicates that China Express likely offers a lunch menu with potentially different pricing and portion sizes compared to their regular menu. The reviewer also noted a discrepancy in pricing, suggesting they might have received an older version of the menu. They helpfully mentioned they would post the menu they received that day, implying that prices and offerings might vary or be subject to change.

Promotional information is somewhat limited but implied by the mention of a lunch menu with specific dishes like "Lunch Orange and General Tso chicken." This suggests that China Express may offer more affordable options or different portion sizes during lunch hours. To get detailed information about their current menu, including any lunch specials, pricing, and other promotions, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly or check if they have an updated menu available online or in-house.

In conclusion, China Express in Sanford, NC, appears to offer a somewhat variable experience based on the two available customer reviews. While one customer reported issues with food quality, particularly with the General Tso's chicken and chicken wings, and felt they were not getting good value, another customer had a positive experience with the food, service, and portion sizes, especially noting the lunch specials. Potential customers should consider these contrasting experiences. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant in Sanford, China Express might be worth trying, especially their lunch specials, but it may be wise to be mindful of the potential for inconsistencies in food quality as reported by one reviewer. Checking for more recent reviews or inquiring directly about their current menu and preparation methods might also be helpful.

Before deciding to dine at or order from China Express, you may want to consider the following:

  • Be aware of the reported inconsistencies in food quality, particularly regarding the General Tso's chicken and chicken wings.
  • Note the positive feedback about the lunch specials and the friendly service received by one customer.
  • Consider inquiring about their current menu and pricing, especially their lunch options.
  • Look for more recent reviews on platforms like Google Reviews or Yelp to get a broader range of opinions on their food and service.
  • Contact China Express directly at (919) 499-0885 to ask about their menu, services (dine-in, takeout, delivery), and any current promotions or lunch specials.

By taking these steps, you can gather more information and make a more informed decision about whether China Express meets your expectations for a local Chinese dining experience in Sanford, NC.

This place does pretty good at times but I've been finding myself getting ripped off lately. Today was the second time my chicken wings were over cooked and 3rd time finding pieces of my general tso chicken not being chicken, but this time 90% of the tso was just the big chunks of flour/starch (whatever they use to bread the chicken) being passed as chicken. I was trying to introduce my toddler to general tso and I wanted him to have flavoured chicken not fried starch/flour.

This place was great! Way better than that China Star place. The guy that took my order was super nice and got it right, it was hot and ready when I picked it up and the food was really great portions for price. We got the Lunch Orange and General Tso chicken with rice. Yum, we will be back. Thank you for your friendly service! The only thing that was off was the price it must of been a older version of their menu which is why I'm posting the one I got today.

Card machine wasn't working so I paid with cash instead. Turns out every transaction I tried with my card went through, and they refuse to refund. Didn't help that the food was dry and stale either.

Not good , orange chicken was dry and kinda weird taste and I ask for a pepper steak and only a bit of meat and tones of onios not paying for rice and onions in salsa. My first and last time buying here.

Food was not Chinese food I expected. Honey chicken is sweet and sour chicken dipped in some orange red looking sauce. The boneless spare ribs were dry and had no flavor. The chicken wings tasted add if the grease or the batter was old. They did say I could bring it back and get a refund so I was satisfied on that note. I was really looking forward to eating Chinese. But never from here again.
