According to customer reviews, popular items include fried rice, honey chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and egg rolls. The mention of a "popular takeout box" priced around $11–$12 suggests that they offer combination meals or value deals that include a selection of these staples. The fact that these takeout boxes are often packed so full they need to be stapled shut underscores the restaurant's reputation for providing substantial portions, a key factor in its local appeal.

In terms of food quality, one reviewer offered a nuanced perspective, stating that while it's "not the best but not the worst," there are areas for potential improvement. They specifically noted inconsistencies in the chicken, with some pieces being cooked well and others being tough. However, they did commend the flavor of the sauces. Ratings were also provided for specific dishes, with lo mein receiving a 2 out of 5 and fried rice a 3 out of 5. Despite these reservations, the reviewer expressed a willingness to return, particularly for the honey chicken, which they noted is not commonly found on the menus of many fast-food Chinese restaurants. Overall, this customer gave China Express a solid 4-star rating, emphasizing their appreciation for the "great customer service," a "clean establishment," and generally "good food," while hoping for better consistency in the chicken in future visits.
The atmosphere at China Express is described as "casual," which aligns with the typical ambiance of a takeout-focused Chinese restaurant. The emphasis seems to be on efficiency and functionality rather than elaborate decor. However, the positive remarks about a "clean establishment" suggest that while the setting might be simple, maintaining a clean environment is a priority. The fact that "quick service and friendly staff keep people coming back" indicates that the overall customer experience is positive, even if the ambiance is not the primary draw.
Services at China Express appear to be primarily focused on takeout, given the frequent mention of the "takeout box" and its popularity. However, it is likely that they also offer dine-in service for customers who prefer to eat at the restaurant. The positive feedback regarding "friendly staff" suggests a welcoming and helpful approach to customer interactions, which contributes significantly to the overall positive perception of the establishment. The atmosphere is casual, but the quick service and friendly staff keep people coming back. It’s a go-to for locals craving a fast, filling meal, especially for takeout. Not the best but not the worst. They get 5 stars for customer service and portions. I have ordered from this location twice. On each visit a few chicken pieces were cooked well, some were tough. The sauces are flavorful! However, the lo mein gets a rating of 2 and fried rice 3. I will go back for the honey chicken. Many fast-food Chinese restaurants don’t have it on their menu. Overall, I’ll give this place a solid 4. I love great customer service, a clean establishment, and good food. Hopefully, next time the consistency of the chicken will be the same throughout.
Usually I never had a problem for over a year that I was coming here, Was almost finished but just now I bit into some kind of piece of sharp metal in my teriyaki chicken (it hurt). I am hoping there weren't other pieces that made it past me unnoticed. Will not come back here ever again.
Amazing! My husband and I tried it last night. We are both from the East Coast and have been in TX for the last 2 years. We were starting to give up on finding a good Chinese food restaurant here, thankfully we stumbled on this place. Portions are PLENTIFUL, and flavor is AMAZING! It’s not East Coast Chinese however it’s our new Go to spot. Definitely going again. And the price was great we both ate and had leftovers for $24.
I had beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken with low mein. The portions were huge and priced well. The chicken for the sweet and sour chicken seemed a little dried out and hard for my liking. (Only negative). The beef with broccoli was great and seasoned well. And the staff working the front were very welcoming and polite. I will definitely be back again, just may not get the sweet and sour chicken next. Might have to try the orange chicken
