About China Express 2

Welcome to China Express 2, a Chinese restaurant located at 30 North St in Burlington, Vermont (VT 05401), USA. China Express 2 aims to provide a variety of Chinese-American dishes for both takeout and delivery customers. You can reach them at (802) 865-4888 or their mobile number, +1 802-865-4888, to place an order or inquire about their services.

Customer reviews for China Express 2 present a stark contrast in recent experiences, indicating a potential inconsistency in food quality and overall satisfaction. One customer expressed extreme disappointment with a recent dinner order totaling nearly $70. They detailed several issues, starting with the pork egg rolls, where their children only consumed the shell due to an unfamiliar filling that they believed was not pork. The house special fried rice, ordered without most vegetables, allegedly contained very little pork and only about four small shrimp, with much of the rice being hard and greasy. The shrimp with broccoli and garlic sauce was described as "flavorLESS" with no discernible garlic taste. Additionally, the boneless BBQ ribs were reported to be dried out and tough, with an unpleasant aftertaste that raised concerns about potential spoilage, leading the customer to discard the dish entirely. This overwhelmingly negative experience led the reviewer to strongly advise against this restaurant and vow never to return, expressing frustration at having to cook at home despite spending a significant amount for what was expected to be a convenient family meal. They also mentioned that China Express 2 was once a preferred spot but that a change in ownership years prior had led them to stop patronizing it, with this recent experience reinforcing that decision. The reviewer suggested another local Chinese restaurant as a better alternative, though noting its closure on Wednesdays.

Conversely, another customer offered a highly positive review, stating that "Out of all Burlington's Chinese restaurants. This is the one." While acknowledging only ordering delivery about three times up to that point, they recounted a pleasant interaction with a staff member who recognized them at their workplace and inquired about their satisfaction with the food. This reviewer described the staff as "very nice" and the taste as "classic lovely." They also noted that the restaurant appeared to be "clearly family owned" and praised the reliability of their delivery and pickup times, as well as the consistently "great" quality of the food. This positive feedback suggests that some customers have had very satisfactory experiences with China Express 2, appreciating the taste, service, and efficiency.

Given these conflicting recent reviews, it is difficult to draw a definitive conclusion about the current state of China Express 2. The strong negative review raises significant concerns about food quality, ingredient authenticity (in the case of the egg rolls), and potential food safety issues (with the ribs). The positive review, while based on a few delivery orders, highlights friendly staff, classic flavors, and reliable service. This divergence suggests that the quality and experience at China Express 2 might be inconsistent or that different customers have varying expectations and preferences.

As a Chinese restaurant, China Express 2 likely offers a standard menu of popular Chinese-American dishes. Based on the reviews, this includes pork egg rolls, house special fried rice, shrimp with broccoli and garlic sauce, and boneless BBQ ribs. Customers can probably expect to find other common dishes such as various chicken, beef, and pork preparations, noodle dishes like lo mein and chow mein, and a selection of appetizers and soups. The contrasting opinions on the quality of these items indicate that potential customers should be aware of the possibility of variability in their orders.

Information regarding the environment of China Express 2 is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. One reviewer focused entirely on the negative food experience, while the other primarily commented on the delivery service and staff interaction outside the restaurant. The mention of it being "clearly family owned" might suggest a more traditional and perhaps less formal setting. Customers interested in dining in or learning more about the restaurant's ambiance may need to contact them directly or seek additional online reviews that might provide insights into the dine-in experience, if available.

In terms of services, China Express 2 offers both takeout and delivery, catering to customers who prefer to eat their meals off-site. The positive reviewer specifically praised the on-point delivery and pickup times, indicating efficiency in these services. The friendly interaction with a staff member also suggests a customer-oriented approach, at least in some instances. However, the negative review did not comment on the service aspect beyond the dissatisfaction with the food itself. Potential customers may find the availability of both a phone number and a mobile phone number convenient for placing orders.

The features of China Express 2 are somewhat contradictory based on the provided feedback. One potential feature is the "classic lovely taste" mentioned by a positive reviewer, suggesting that they adhere to familiar Chinese-American flavor profiles that some customers appreciate. Another could be the perceived friendly nature of the staff and the reliability of their delivery and pickup services. However, the negative review highlights significant issues with food quality, ingredient authenticity, and potentially unsafe dishes, which would be major negative features. The fact that it was once a "go to spot" for one reviewer but has since declined in their estimation due to a change in ownership suggests a history that might not reflect the current standards.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided data. To learn about any special offers, discounts, or new menu items that China Express 2 might be featuring, it is best to contact the restaurant directly via phone or check if they have any online presence where such information might be shared. Local residents in Burlington considering China Express 2 should be aware of the recent contrasting experiences reported by other customers. Weighing the positive comments about taste and service against the serious concerns raised about food quality and potential safety issues is advisable before placing an order.

In conclusion, China Express 2 in Burlington, VT, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one customer lauded the "classic lovely taste," friendly staff, and reliable delivery/pickup, another reported a severely disappointing experience with poor food quality, questionable ingredients in the egg rolls, a flavorless dish, and potentially unsafe ribs. This significant divergence in feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in the restaurant's offerings. Local users considering China Express 2 should take these contrasting experiences into account. For the most current information on their menu, services, and any potential promotions, contacting the restaurant directly at (802) 865-4888 or +1 802-865-4888 is recommended. Customers who have had positive experiences in the past might find the current service satisfactory, while those seeking consistent high-quality food may want to exercise caution or consider recent feedback before ordering.

Spent almost 70 bucks for dinner tonight from china express 2 and it was a HUGE disappointment!!! Let’s start with the PORK EGG ROLLS… I ordered four of them .. my kids only ate the “shell” of them because the filling was nothing like they’ve ever had! Definitely wasn’t pork egg rolls. The house special friend rice I ordered with no veggies except onions and it came with about 4 tiny shrimp 🍤 almost zero pieces of pork and most of the rice was hard lots of grease. The shrimp with broccoli and garlic sauce was flavorLESS no hints of garlic at all like NONE! Also ordered boneless BBQ ribs that were dried out and very tuff! They looked really good but after one bite I had to spit it out the after taste was as if it was going bad and NOBODY wants to end up with food poisoning so that dish was a total lost! After all that money spent I could never recommend this Chinese restaurant and I’ll never return ever. Sucks when u think your getting a nice treat for your family and saving yourself time in the kitchen only to have to still whip something up at home because not one of us was satisfied! Not impressed at all. This place was once my go to spot way back in the day! However ownership changed years ago and tonight I was reminded why I STOPPED spending my hard earned money here. Fu-da on pearl street in Burlington is a much better option UNFORTUNATELY they’re closed on Wednesday!

Fell off so hard. Used to be good. Now it is the worst in the area. General Tsos chicken was all batter with tiny little tough pieces of chicken inside. Could barely chew it. Sauce was nasty too. Honestly disgusting.
