About CHINA EAST

Welcome to CHINA EAST, a Chinese restaurant located at 4712 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224, USA. As a part of the local Chinese Restaurant category, we aim to serve the Baltimore community with a diverse selection of Chinese cuisine. You can contact us at (410) 633-6699 or our mobile number +1 410-633-6699 for inquiries or to place an order.

CHINA EAST offers both dine-in and takeout services, providing our customers with the flexibility to enjoy our food at our location or in the comfort of their own homes. We focus on preparing and serving a variety of Chinese dishes to cater to the diverse tastes within our local area.

Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences at CHINA EAST present a range of opinions. One customer had a largely positive experience, particularly highlighting the pupu platter as "really good" and indicating they would order it again. They noted that while the ribs were a bit overcooked and lacked sauce (a minor issue for them), the chicken wings and skewered chicken were moist. They also praised the crab rangoons and shrimp toast as "delicious" and found the egg rolls to be crispy with a decent amount of shrimp. This customer felt the portion size was generous for two people and expressed their intention to order again to try other dishes, adding CHINA EAST to their list of favorites.

However, this same customer mentioned a significant disappointment with the french fries, which they found to be "mediocre at best," describing them as crinkle-cut, short, and undercooked. They also suggested that the restaurant should include sauce with the pupu platter, as they had to use their own at home.

In contrast to this generally positive experience, another customer had a very negative opinion, describing the General Tso's chicken as "some of the worst I've ever had." They characterized it as primarily "fried chunks of chicken fat with a tiny piece of overcooked jerky-like chicken," expressing strong dissatisfaction with the quality of the meat. This customer also reported that their broccoli tasted "fishy," despite not ordering any fish, but found the fried rice to be "decent." Ultimately, this customer stated they would not be returning, finding the food "gross and overpriced."

The mixed feedback suggests that while some dishes at CHINA EAST are well-received, such as elements of the pupu platter, others, like the General Tso's chicken and possibly some sides like french fries, may not meet customer expectations. The comment about the broccoli tasting fishy is also a significant concern regarding food preparation or cross-contamination.

As a Chinese restaurant located on Eastern Avenue in Baltimore, CHINA EAST is situated in a potentially convenient location for local residents. The menu appears to offer a variety of classic Chinese-American dishes, as indicated by the mention of the pupu platter, General Tso's chicken, and egg rolls. The inclusion of french fries on the menu is somewhat unusual for a traditional Chinese restaurant and was a point of criticism in one review.

Potential customers should consider the contrasting experiences shared in the reviews. The positive feedback on the pupu platter and some other appetizers might be appealing, but the strong negative comments regarding the General Tso's chicken and the fishy-tasting broccoli are serious concerns that should be taken into account. The issue of missing sauce with the pupu platter is also a point to note.

We at CHINA EAST aim to serve the Baltimore community with a range of Chinese dishes. We encourage potential diners to consider the available feedback and perhaps try some of the dishes that have received positive mentions. We also take negative feedback seriously and strive to address areas where we can improve the quality and consistency of our food and service.

The pupu platter was really good and I would definitely get that again! the ribs were a little overcooked and didn't have any sauce on them but that was minor. the chicken wings were moist and so was the skewered chicken. the crab rangoons were delicious and so was the shrimp toast. The egg rolls were crispy and had a decent amount of whole shrimp in them. It was plenty of food for two people. I would have given this a perfect five stars but I paid over $5 for an order of french fries and they were just mediocre at best. they were crinkle cut, all very short and undercooked, so I won't order those again. another other thing is they need to send a container or two of sauce with the pupu platter. luckily I had some here at home, but it definitely needs something to dip in. I'll be ordering from this restaurant again, want to try some of their other dishes, and have put it on my list of favorites.

Some of the worst General Tso's I've ever had. They're basically fried chunks of chicken fat with a tiny piece of overcooked jerky-like chicken. I cannot stand when establishments are cheap or careless with their quality of meat. My broccoli tastes fishy? I didn't order any fish. Fried rice was decent. not returning. food is gross and overpriced.

There seems to be an issue when asking for light sauce, no sauce, different sauce. Since having to make health adjustments my order experience has changed from 4.7 to 2.0. Incomplete and incorrect order(s) zero effort making right. And count your change back on cash payments

Don't love their fried rice personally (a little dry) but everything else is good, if not great. Very quiet and quick service. I like it.

Coming from SC after surgery at Johns Hopkins, wanted soothing egg drop soup, stopped in for take out. Very impressed with the food and freindly service.
