About China Dragon

Welcome to China Dragon, a Chinese restaurant located at 15301 Court St, Moulton, AL 35650, USA. As a part of the Chinese restaurant category in Moulton, Alabama, China Dragon offers a buffet-style dining experience with a diverse selection of both Chinese and American cuisine. You can contact them at (256) 974-3788 or via mobile at +1 256-974-3788 for any inquiries.

Based on recent customer feedback, China Dragon presents a mixed experience, with some patrons praising aspects like variety and service, while others have noted concerns regarding food quality and pricing. One reviewer who dined at the buffet mentioned enjoying several dishes, including the shrimp with vegetables, beef stir fry, fried shrimp, sesame chicken, and the salad bar. They found the food to be "really good" and indicated a positive overall experience with the culinary offerings they sampled from the buffet.

However, this same reviewer expressed some reservations about the pricing, stating that it felt "a little steep" for a lunch portion on a Sunday afternoon, totaling almost $40 for two people. While acknowledging that it had been some time since their last restaurant visit and suggesting that this might be the current going rate, they contrasted it with a past experience of paying significantly less for a large helping of Chinese food. Despite this concern about the price, they concluded by recommending China Dragon, citing "excellent service," a "great atmosphere," and no complaints about the food itself.

Another review provided a more detailed and nuanced perspective on their dining experience with their husband. They found the pricing to be "reasonable" and the service to be "good," which aligns with the previous reviewer's positive comments on service. However, their assessment of the food was more varied. They noted that some items were "alright," while others had specific issues. The crab rangoon were a particular point of concern, described as having a "very weird goopy texture and sweet in flavor," making them inedible for this reviewer. They expressed a willingness to try them again in the future to see if it was just an "off day."

The same reviewer also commented on the chow mein noodles, finding them "too soft and over cooked," although their husband enjoyed them. This highlights a potential inconsistency in the preparation of certain dishes or a difference in personal preference. The mozzarella sticks were described as "warm but not hot enough to be stringy and yummy," suggesting an issue with temperature or texture. On a more positive note, they "loved the Chinese donuts and shrimp dishes." The egg drop soup and sesame chicken were rated as "alright," indicating they were acceptable but not exceptional. Similarly, the egg rolls and general tso’s chicken "didn’t hate" but felt they "just didn’t hit the mark flavor wise."

A notable feature mentioned in this second review is the availability of "various American types of food as well like wings, chicken tender, etc." This is highlighted as a positive aspect, particularly for families with "picky kids," as it provides alternative options beyond traditional Chinese cuisine. The buffet also includes "different types of desserts and ice cream," offering a broader range of choices to cater to various preferences and complete the meal.

The reviewer appreciated the presence of a buffet with some variety in a smaller town like Moulton, acknowledging the convenience and options it provides. However, they also expressed a desire to see "improvements to the food and environment as time progresses," suggesting that while the current offerings are acceptable, there is room for enhancement in both the quality of certain dishes and the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

Considering these two reviews, China Dragon in Moulton appears to be a Chinese restaurant that offers a buffet with a significant variety of dishes, including both Chinese and American options, as well as desserts and ice cream. The service is generally well-regarded as excellent or good, and the atmosphere is also noted as being great by one reviewer, though no specific details about the environment are provided. The inclusion of American food options makes it a potentially appealing choice for families with diverse tastes.

However, the quality of the food seems to be inconsistent across different items, with some dishes receiving praise while others are criticized for texture or flavor. The pricing of the lunch buffet was perceived as somewhat high by one customer, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious diners. The reviewer who experienced issues with several dishes expressed a hope for future improvements in food quality and the overall environment.

In terms of promotional information, there are no specific offers or discounts mentioned in these reviews. The primary draw seems to be the variety of the buffet, catering to different preferences, and the generally positive remarks about the service and atmosphere. The inclusion of American food options could be seen as a feature to attract a broader customer base, especially families.

In conclusion, China Dragon in Moulton offers a buffet with a wide selection of Chinese and American dishes, making it a convenient option for a small town seeking variety. The service is generally praised, and the atmosphere is reportedly pleasant. However, potential customers should be aware that the quality of individual dishes may vary, and the pricing of the buffet might be perceived as somewhat high by some. For local users looking for a buffet with diverse options and good service, China Dragon is worth considering, keeping in mind the mixed feedback on food quality for certain items.

My brother and I ate there yesterday and I didn't take a photo sorry we both ate off of the buffet and it was really good. I had the shrimp with vegetables ,beef stir fry, fried shrimp, sesame chicken and the salad bar. l I thought it was a little steep on pricing for a lunch portion it was almost $40 on a Sunday afternoon... it's been awhile since I've been out to eat so maybe that's just the going rate , last time I had Chinese it was $4.95 for a large helping but I would definitely recommend it, service was excellent , atmosphere was great and I can't complain about the food.

Husband and I ate here the other night. Pricing was reasonable, service was good, food was alright. Crab rangoon weren’t right- they were a very weird goopy texture and sweet in flavor. Would try them again to see if they just had an off day but couldn’t eat them this time around. Chow mein noodles were too soft and over cooked for me but my husband liked them. Mozzarella sticks were warm but not hot enough to be stringy and yummy. Loved the Chinese donuts and shrimp dishes. Egg drop soup and sesame chicken were alright. Didn’t hate the egg rolls and general tso’s chicken but they just didn’t hit the mark flavor wise. They have various American types of food as well like wings, chicken tender, etc. Which is good for those with picky kids. Different types of desserts and ice cream too. It’s nice having a buffet with some variety in such a small town but would love to see improvements to the food and environment as time progresses.

Delicious fast buffet line food refresh and delicious fast to go orders. Love the thin rice noodles with vegetables on the buffet line and ordering them with meat to have at home from on the go orders. Love ordering the steamed/fried dumplings and only regret it isn't on the buffet line options. Love the wonton soup. It's funny though that the same steamed/fried is called dumplings or pot stickers but in the soup it's called wontons. Love the spring rolls. The owners are super nice and friendly and remember you and your family and care about you. ❤️

Our waitress was friendly but due to her being the only waitress there and working all the tables by herself it was hard to get her attention and she wasn't able to check on our table at a normal pace. The food was good but the sweet tea had gone sour. The lady at checkout was also friendly and the portions from the menu was large enough to get full and have extra to take home. I myself hit the all you can eat buffet bar where they had a decent selection they had another bar for salad, watermelon banana pudding, ice cream ect.. it was also cool inside. All in all I would recommend it.
