About China Cottage

China Cottage is a Chinese restaurant located at 3718 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45429, USA. They can be contacted at phone number (937) 294-4724 or mobile phone +1 937-294-4724. As a local Chinese restaurant, China Cottage offers a selection of Chinese dishes for the Dayton community.

Customer reviews present varied opinions on the food offered at China Cottage. One reviewer had a very positive experience with the Chicken in Black Bean sauce, describing it as "FANTASTIC!" They also enjoyed the Won Ton soup, noting its rich and flavorful broth and tasty wontons with delicate pasta and filling. While they found the General Tso's chicken to be acceptable, they preferred the black bean sauce dish and indicated they would definitely return for these favorites.

In contrast, another customer who ordered takeout had a significantly negative experience. They ordered the Happy Family dish, fried rice, and crab rangoons. The Happy Family, which was supposed to contain beef, chicken, shrimp, crab, and scallops, was reported to be mostly beef and chicken with only three scallops and described as "bland A.F." and tasting like "dish water." The peas in the fried rice were described as hard, and the crab rangoons were reported to contain no crab at all. This reviewer described the food as "Piss poor" with "no flavor at all."

Local users considering China Cottage should be aware of these contrasting reviews. While some dishes like the Chicken in Black Bean sauce and Won Ton soup have received high praise, other dishes, as reported in another review, have been significantly disappointing in terms of ingredients and flavor.

Had the chicken in black bean sauce and the General Tso’s chicken. The Chicken in Black Bean sauce was FANTASTIC! The General Tso was ok but we like the black bean sauce much better. The Won Ton soup is very good and has a rich flavorful broth and very good wontons. The pasta is delicate and the filling is tasty. Will definitely be back for the Chicken and Black bean sauce and the won ton soup!

Got take out. Ordered happy family, fried rice and crab Rangoons. Happy family was supposed to have beef, chicken, shrimp, crab and scallops. It was full of beef and chicken, with 3 scallops. And the whole dish was bland A.F. It tasted like it was made with dish water. The Peas in the fried rice were like rocks, and there was NO CRAB whatsoever in the crab Rangoons. Piss poor food-- no flavor at all.

Food is 10/10 super delicious and prices are fair for the portions. Crab rangoon was a bit oily but tasty. The pineapple chicken and broccoli beef were delicious! Service is pretty slow and unorganized. They try to upsell you and check to make sure you tipped before you got out of your seat. Fish tanks water looks dirty and that’s the first thing you see when you walk in but overall I highly recommend eating here!

Great waitor! Great food! Great service! Food is family reasonable, and you get enough for a second full meal. Highly recommend this place.

We went here on a Tuesday evening and were immediately seated. The staff was very nice, especially our waitress. The food took a while to come out but we loved it! The crab rangoons were the best I've had and I noticed everyone around us had ordered some. The sweet and sour chicken was good but was different from what I'm used to. I plan on trying out something different next time. If you're looking for a fancier Chinese meal I recommend coming here.
