China Cottage

Visited on a slow night around 5:30. We were greeted very welcoming by the ladies. Food was good with huge portions so we have enough for lunch tomorrow as well. I recommend trying the fruit tea, it is not too sweet but just sweet enough. Very good meal 😋

I tried their lunch special today for the first time and as soon as I walked in I didn’t have good vibes. The place looked old and outdated and had a weird smell. They only had one table with two customers and it was a lunch hour. That didn’t look good but still gave a shot. I ordered kang pow combo with chicken and shrimp and beef? But I hardly saw any beef and just a few pieces of chicken and maybe three shrimp. Rest was all veggies. It was not a disaster but too salty. But the worse thing was the fried rice. It was just plain rice with soy sauce. Nothing else. It also tasted kind of funny. I ended up not eating it after tasting it. The hot n sour soup was okay. As far as the service there were two ladies one was a cook and the other one cashier. They were nice not rude or anything. But unfortunately I can pretty much tell why they didn’t have a lot of customers. Hopefully they will improve with all these honest feedback. However, Not sure I would go back sadly to say.

I was running some errands with my daughter today and found the China Cottage Restaurant. I was buying other food around the area but the pictures on the window were calling for me! The location is easy to find and there was plenty of parking in the front. I ordered some of my favorite dishes to see if this is a restaurant I want to visit again. I ordered Cheese Puffs (5 per order) and Soft Shrimp Rolls (2 per order). The restaurant was very clean and my daughter was attracted to the cute Chinese Waving Hand and a cute little fish tank. I waited patiently for my order and well the wait got a little longer than expected. Luckily, my daughter was entertained but I sat there for a little while for only two small orders. I give this location a 4 due to the wait time. I saw others that came by and picked up their orders and maybe if I order in advance my experience would have been different. I do have to say that the staff was very friendly and a nice waitress gave my daughter a fortune cookie while we waited. As for the food, the Cheese Puffs were very tasty and fresh I like to think that wait had something to do with it! As for the spring rolls well they were ok but not my favorite. The peanut sauce was a bit too sweet and the spring roll fell apart a bit. I love spring rolls and I am just being a hard critic. Despite that, I do recommend this restaurant as the cheese puffs were great and maybe other dishes are as delicious!

One the best Chinese spots I’ve ever been to. The food was delicious, fresh, and amazing. I ordered to go, it was ready quick and no mistakes. Everything I ordered was so good, the orange chicken, Lo mien, beef and broccoli, and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend, this is a treasure and great example of Chinese takeout!

So I ordered on door dash for a delivery of General tos chicken with fried rice and an egg drop soup . I realized that they closed at nine and I was pushing it by ordering 30 mins before closing: perhaps I thought that if I’m going to be charged 25 dollars for the picture your seeing at least gave the right rice which was supposed to be fried not brown and bland and old . Nothing seemed fresh . The worst egg drop soup I ever had in my whole life . This is totally unacceptable and I don’t suggest Uber eats or door dash or anything from there . Part of a business is valuing your reputation . Money just doesn’t cut the bills it’s respect for what you do and who you doing it for . Take out means napkins and forks and spoons as well . I really would like my money back but instead I would like this to be known since I’m still hungry and it was a waste of money and energy.
