Customer reviews for China Cook offer generally positive feedback, with some interesting observations. One reviewer initially had reservations based on other reviews but found their experience to be "pretty good." They noted that while the chicken fried rice was good, the orange chicken had a red appearance. They also commented on the reasonable prices and a moderate wait time.

Another customer highly recommends China Cook for those seeking fresh and authentic Chinese food. They praise the decent prices, particularly highlighting the combo meals around $8, which they found to be substantial enough to feed themselves and possibly two children due to the generous portions of both rice and the main dish. This reviewer strongly encourages others to try China Cook and mentions that they do not offer their own delivery service.

For local users in East Chicago, China Cook appears to be a Chinese restaurant offering large portions of food at decent prices. While the appearance of some dishes, like the orange chicken, may be unconventional, the overall quality and freshness are appreciated by many customers. It's a dine-in and takeout option worth considering for a satisfying meal.

It was pretty good even though I had second thoughts about this place based on reviews. The chicken fried rice is pretty good but he orange chicken is red... Besides that pretty good not too long of a wait and the prices were ok. Not super expensive but not cheap either.

Great Chinese food if you want fresh authentic food this is the place to go prices are pretty decent I go up there and get a combo meal which is around $8 but it's enough for me to feed me and probably two of my kids they give you a lot of rice and a lot of food they always fill it to the top definitely go in there and try it and it's not their delivery they deliver to so great food stop in and have a bite to eat

The customer service was excellent they were very nice and kid friendly. But unfortunately the food is disgusting and not fresh. I think this place needs New Management or needs to get get fresh food and better cooks. For the safety of customers. I wouldn't suggest people eat the food just so you don't end up in the hospital or with any type of stomach infection. The food is not fresh and not cooked properly. Bloody Chicken and Greasy rice can be very hazardous. Please be careful and think twice about eating here. Unfortunately this will be my first and last time ever coming to this establishment, I'm praying for them. Update: July 2024 this place is now permanently closed and is a barbecue spot

I ordered shrimp fried rice with egg foo young and a shrimp egg roll. I was told the food came with the egg roll. When I got my food I didn't have a egg roll, I was given a hard spring roll instead. My rice needed to be cooked longer, and my egg foo young didn't have gravy. I've never bought egg foo young that didn't come with gravy. I wouldn't recommend this spot, they should close it down.

I was worried about ordering because of the reviews but like another person stated regular place is closed on Monday’s well the reviews are correct, their food was awful .. to begin the egg rolls were burned and seemed recooked but not only that the taste was weird it had like ground beef and a weird taste, the chicken was dry and seemed frozen for the sweet n sour chicken. The shrimp just as other reviewers smelled bad and the rice was not fresh sorry but nowhere near Ma’s Chinese Wok on Chicago Ave… never will order from them again.
