About China City
China City, situated at 15402 Main St in Mill Creek, Washington, serves as a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, offering a range of Chinese cuisine to the Mill Creek community. Based on the limited but contrasting customer reviews available, China City presents a somewhat varied experience depending on whether one chooses to dine in or opt for takeout. These reviews touch upon aspects of the restaurant's atmosphere, service, and the perceived value and taste of the food.
One customer who ordered takeout provided a less favorable review, focusing primarily on the portion size and taste of the food. This reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the quantity of food received, describing the takeout container as surprisingly small, even comparing it unfavorably to a child's lunch box. In addition to the small portion size, the reviewer found the taste of the food to be bland, leading to an overall negative impression of their takeout experience. This customer also mentioned an expectation of receiving a larger amount of food given the price and the number of dishes ordered, suggesting a potential issue with the perceived value for money in their takeout order. The reviewer's concluding remark advises caution to those seeking larger portions, implying that China City might not align with such expectations for takeout.
In contrast, another customer had a decidedly positive experience when dining in at China City. This reviewer described the food as "perfect" and even went as far as to say it was the best Chinese food they had ever had. They brought their children along, and all of them thoroughly enjoyed their meals, indicating that China City might be a family-friendly option. Furthermore, this reviewer lauded the atmosphere of the restaurant, describing it as "amazing." Despite the presence of many other diners, they noted that the environment was quiet, allowing for easy conversation among their family. The service also received high praise, with the reviewer commending the wonderful servers who checked on them frequently, contributing to an overall great meal experience.
The contrasting feedback highlights a potential disparity between the dine-in and takeout experiences at China City, or perhaps variability in the restaurant's performance. The positive review suggests that the dine-in atmosphere is a significant asset, characterized by a pleasant ambiance that allows for comfortable conversation, and that the service is attentive and contributes positively to the dining experience. The food quality, at least for this dine-in customer, was exceptional. However, the negative takeout review paints a different picture, focusing on small portion sizes and bland taste, leading to dissatisfaction with the value of the meal.
Based on these two reviews, it's difficult to draw a comprehensive conclusion about the environment of China City beyond the positive description of a "great" and "amazing" atmosphere that is also surprisingly quiet for a busy restaurant. This suggests that the restaurant may have a layout or design that effectively manages noise levels, creating a more relaxed dining setting. The positive service mentioned by the dine-in customer indicates that attentiveness is a strength when eating at the restaurant.
In terms of features, the positive review points to the delicious food and the family-friendly nature of the establishment. The quiet yet lively atmosphere could also be considered a notable feature, providing a comfortable space for diners to enjoy their meals and conversations. However, the small portion sizes for takeout, as highlighted in the negative review, could be seen as a potential drawback for some customers.
The provided information does not include any details about promotional offers or special deals that China City might be currently running. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly via the provided phone number or inquire when visiting the establishment.
In conclusion, China City in Mill Creek, WA, appears to offer a potentially pleasant dine-in experience characterized by a great atmosphere, quiet ambiance, delicious food, and attentive service, making it a possible choice for families and those looking for a relaxed setting. However, the takeout experience, based on the available feedback, may suffer from small portion sizes and bland food, leading to concerns about value for money. Local users might want to weigh these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to dine in or order takeout from China City. If atmosphere and service are priorities, dining in seems to be a positive experience based on one review. However, those primarily concerned with portion size and taste for takeout may want to consider other options or inquire specifically about portion sizes before placing an order.

I ordered take out but atmosphere looked great! The portion for to go was a joke. I think my kids lunch box is bigger than this place's to go container! Food amount is not good and to be honest the taste was bland. I was expecting a lot of food for the price and the amount of dishes I got. Guess if you want more food, then go to the less luxury places lol so beware ๐
Perfect Chinese food, best I've ever had! Brought my kids with me and we each enjoyed delicious meals. The atmosphere was amazing. Even with many other people here, it was quiet and we could easily enjoy good conversation with each other. The wonderful servers checked on us often. Thanks for a great meal!
One of the better Chinese restaurants in the Mill Creek/lynnwood area. I highly recommend their family style meals. They offer it for a party of 2 and up and you will have leftovers for sure. They give you great portions and a great variety of dishes for each family meal style. If you need substitutes for certain dishes, make sure to ask as they do offer that. Service is 50/50. You for staff who are running around from bar to table and others just standing around and chatting. Management needs to step it up and get everyone working together. It's obvious who is working hard and who is not.
Great service and food. We really enjoyed it and will be back soon.
The best Chinese restaurant around town so far. I recommend getting the salt and pepper wings for appetizers, itโs amazing. The sweet and sour chicken is also delicious, the coating is crispy and the sauce is flavorful. The honey walnut shrimp is really good too.
