About China Chef
China Chef, located at 704 Rolling Rd. in Catonsville, Maryland, serves the local community as a Chinese Restaurant. This establishment offers a menu of Chinese cuisine for its customers.
Recent customer reviews of China Chef present some concerns regarding food quality and pricing. One customer who ordered the Mongolian beef reported receiving a dish with a large amount of onions and green peppers on top, with a limited amount of beef at the bottom. They also found the accompanying egg rolls to be not fresh and expressed significant dissatisfaction with the meal's cost of $24.75, stating they would not order again.
Another reviewer questioned the high number of positive reviews, describing the food as "mediocre" considering the restaurant's location with high foot traffic.
Further criticism came from a customer who ordered the beef and broccoli with white rice. They found the sauce to be excessively thick and of poor quality, the beef to be chewy, and the white rice to be significantly undercooked, mushy, soggy, and bland, rendering it inedible. While this customer noted that a staff member was accommodating and replaced the rice, they ultimately rated the restaurant one star due to the poor food quality relative to its price, deeming it overpriced.
Given these recent negative experiences concerning food quality and pricing, potential customers may want to consider these reviews when making a decision about dining at China Chef. The restaurant can be contacted at (410) 719-0828 or +1 410-719-0828 and is located at 704 Rolling Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228, USA.

Customer Reviews
Just ordered a regular sized Mongolian beef in theypiled onions and green peppers at the top of the dish and left me with a little bit of beef at the bottom I just paid $24.75 for this meal and two egg rolls that weren't even fresh I will not order here again very unhappy customer
How in the world does this place have so many good reviews ????? The food is mediocre for the location it's in with so much foot traffic. I bought the beef and broccoli with white rice the sauce was way to thick and lacked good quality, the beef was that chewy beef and the white rice was WAAY UNDER COOKED or they added way too much water it was mushy and soggy and so bland that i couldn't even eat it. Rice should be tender not sticky. On a good note the lady working there was accommodating and nice and she replaced the rice. I gotta give this place one star based on the quality and pricing it's way overpriced for such poor quality food.
**BRING A SECOND BANK ACCOUNT** GOOD: Tasty for takeout Chinese; friendly employees BAD - The PRICES and hospitality for those seeking to sit. I typically don't push back on glowing reviews. Mine tend to be within 1/2 of the average - not here. I was looking for a convienient dinner while shopping in the Rolling Road shops and China Chef seemed to fit the bill - Chinese, tables, good reviews. I wanted to try a few things and expected prices to align with my local places. I ordered crab ragoon (standard app in most places), fried dumplings and an order of pork ho-fun ( mostly thick noodles with some pork) - 36.00. No thanks, I cancelled the two items and was left with the Ho-fun. Two others also reduced their orders - nearly all orders after and before me were in the mid 20s. One was 62.00. The Ho-fun was very good, but it's still Chinese take-out. The pandemic and inflation are not acceptable anymore to gauge customers. Chinese take-out competition is fierce and CC's prices aren't competitive. I also had to eat out of the take out bag - even plastic trays would have been a better touch. To sum up, their food is good but extremely expensive. I recommend straight take out if you go. For my hard earned dollars I am sticking with my local Chinese. The food is good but not worth that second bank account.
It is a great restaurant to get to go food. High quality and customer service keep me coming back. My favorite is shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce and generals. tros chicken is never a disappointment
I always love good authentic Chinese food and this place has it. I like to get the Orange Chicken or General Tsos chicken. Coming from other counties in Maryland I realize it is hard to find good Chinese food. So I love that this place has asian chefs in the background making the food and it has been consistently as long as I can remember. Definitely would recommend. I always get my food to go so I can't speak on how it is to eat in.
