China Chef

Figured I'd give this place a go but the food wasn't all that great. The General Tsao's chicken had some weird ketchup-y sort-of flavor to it. And hot and sour soup also had this weird ketchup-y sort-of flavor to it and didn't taste anything like the hot and sour soup you get at most anywhere else. I had to use some siracha sauce to mask that flavor. Prices weren't any cheaper than anywhere else and with so many other choices in the area I can't say that I'd be back. The guy at the counter was nice and polite. I didn't dine-in but the place could use a good de-cluttering as there were boxes of stuff everywhere.

I will never patronize this business again!! I did an online pick up order and the guy who was at the register was unfriendly and did not greet me at all. I told him that I was there to pick up my order, gave him my name, and he put the bag on the ledge and threw the rolled up slip on the ledge for me to sign.i picked it up and signed it. I then asked if they had sauce and he pointed at them as if I were bothering him. I picked up my food and left but then I forgot my card. so I went back into the restaurant and he said "oh boy" like there was about to be an issue. I said, "I forgot my card." I grabbed my card and left. When I got home and pulled out the food, it was missing the rice. I immediately called the number for the online ordering service. They called the restaurant and the restaurant said I needed to call China Chef. I immediately called and the guy who was at the register started interrogating me about what was in the bag and asking the same questions over and over. He said that if I wanted to come back and get it I could and I advised him it was raining and I was not driving all the way back. He told me it was my choice and that was how he was going to remedy it. There was no apology for the mishap or an option to come back another day, he said "that's the options I am giving you." . I told him to keep the rice because he was rude, combative, and obviously needed the rice more than I did! The food i did get was disgusting and now I see why their rating is so low!!! Pay the extra and get better food and service someplace else!!! 10 out of 10 DOES NOT RECOMMEND.

Really a let down. An order of sesame chicken and generals chicken with fried rice came to nearly $30. No sides or extras.The rice was just dirty looking white rice with no flavor and a few hard peas tossed in. It was dry and came in a single serving container for two orders.The chicken was overcooked or old for both orders, so stuck together and hard you can tip the container and it just sits there. Couldve ordered a seared tuna salad from The Cheesecake Factory for the same price. I've don't think I've ever had worse chinese. Don't expect Webster quality just because you're in Webster. This is more like Lyell Ave food.

Good not great. All the meat is way over cooked and dry, but the veggies and rice are good. The asian sauce and seasoning is rather bland, I would like more ginger, salt, and some additional spice. The prices are also high for what you get. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just that I have had better Chinese food elsewhere.

Delicious, tried the beef and broccoli and egg fried rice tonight. Both were hot even after I drove 20 min home and everything tasted great
