About China Chef

China Chef is a Chinese restaurant situated at 756 Mink Ave, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576, USA, serving the local community with a range of Chinese cuisine. Located in a strip mall setting, China Chef offers both dine-in and take-out options for those seeking familiar Chinese dishes. You can contact the restaurant at (843) 357-3828 or via their mobile number +1 843-357-3828 for inquiries or to place an order.

Based on the limited customer feedback available online, experiences at China Chef appear to be varied. One reviewer who was visiting the area with family expressed extreme dissatisfaction with their meal. They described the food as "TERRIBLE!!!" and specifically mentioned that the sesame chicken was "old" and the wings were "black." This customer spent $60, including a tip, and stated their disappointment, vowing never to eat there again and suggesting the restaurant should close down. This review raises significant concerns about the quality and freshness of some of the dishes served.

In contrast, another customer reported a more positive experience. They described China Chef as a "small Chinese restaurant in a strip mall, about 6 tables, nothing fancy, typical menu." This suggests a casual and unpretentious dining environment. This reviewer found the spring rolls to be "blah" but enjoyed the small wonton soup, noting that it contained "several wantons" and was "delicious." They also tried the lunch portion of the beef and broccoli, which they found to be "delicious" and the portion size "perfect for lunch." This review indicates that some dishes at China Chef may be well-received, particularly the wonton soup and the beef and broccoli lunch portion.

The conflicting nature of these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of China Chef. The starkly negative review regarding the sesame chicken and wings raises serious concerns about food quality and potentially kitchen practices. On the other hand, the positive feedback on the wonton soup and beef and broccoli suggests that the restaurant may have dishes that are prepared well.

The description of the restaurant as a "small Chinese restaurant in a strip mall" with "about 6 tables" and "nothing fancy" provides some insight into the ambiance. It suggests a modest and likely informal dining setting, typical of many local Chinese eateries. Customers looking for a more elaborate or upscale dining experience may find this environment less appealing, while those seeking a casual spot for a quick meal might find it adequate.

The menu is described as "typical," implying a standard selection of popular Chinese-American dishes that are commonly found in such restaurants. Without a specific menu available in the provided information, it's difficult to detail the full range of offerings. However, based on the reviews, it includes items like sesame chicken, wings, spring rolls, wonton soup, and beef and broccoli.

There is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any specific services offered by China Chef, beyond the options for dine-in and take-out. It is unknown whether they offer delivery services or have online ordering capabilities. Similarly, there is no mention of any special features or unique aspects of the restaurant that set it apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area.

Furthermore, the provided information does not include any details about current promotional offers or specials that China Chef might be running. Local users interested in potential deals or discounts would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about such offers.

In conclusion, China Chef in Murrells Inlet, SC, is a small, casual Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall. It offers a typical Chinese menu for dine-in and take-out. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with one recent experience being overwhelmingly negative regarding the quality of certain dishes, while another found some items, like the wonton soup and beef and broccoli lunch portion, to be enjoyable. Potential customers may want to consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to dine at or order from China Chef. Given the significant concerns raised in one of the reviews, it might be prudent to exercise caution or seek more recent feedback before making a decision. For those interested in learning more about their menu, services, or any ongoing promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

You should be ashamed of yourselves, serving that food. Seasme chicken was old, wings was black. I spent $60 and I want all my money back and I gave a tip. We was so disappointed. We will NEVER eat here again. They should close down.

I'm always looking for good Chinese food, and my experience here was good. Small Chinese restaurant in a strip mall, about 6 tables, nothing fancy, typical menu. I tried the spring rolls, and they were blah. But the small wonton soup was delicious with several wantons in it. I also had the lunch portion of beef and broccoli, and that was delicious. The portion size was perfect for lunch.

We know China Chef only as a take out place, but when we want Chinese, this is who we call. In our area of town there are several choices from MI to surfside but having tried all(?) of them, this is our favorite. I like the house specials.

My favorite Chinese food place was closed, but this one was a few minutes away so we decided to try it. Prices were reasonable for portions, and service was nice. We came and saw their dining room wasn’t open, so I ordered online and it was super straightforward. The food was ready within 20 minutes, which was pretty good. The food itself was a little lackluster. The chicken and broccoli I ate tasted a little strange. The wontons were also lacking in taste and filling. But, nonetheless, it scratched my itch for Chinese food, and I would not be opposed to coming here again.
