About China Chef Cotati

Welcome to China Chef Cotati, a Chinese restaurant located at 7991 Old Redwood Hwy, Cotati, CA 94931, USA. As a local Chinese restaurant, China Chef Cotati aims to provide a variety of Chinese culinary options for the Cotati community. Situated in a convenient location, they can be reached at (707) 664-1004 or their mobile number +1 707-664-1004 for inquiries about their menu, services, or to place an order. China Chef Cotati likely offers both dine-in and takeout services, allowing customers to enjoy their meals at the restaurant or in the comfort of their own homes. It is advisable to contact them directly to confirm if they also provide delivery services to the local area.

Based on customer reviews, the environment of China Chef Cotati is described by one long-time patron as having a "homey atmosphere." This suggests a comfortable and familiar setting, possibly contributing to a relaxed dining experience. The mention of a "classic authentic flavors similar to what my own Chinese family cooks" further implies a traditional and perhaps unpretentious ambiance. However, it's important to note that another recent review paints a contrasting picture of the service, which could potentially impact the overall dining environment. Therefore, while some customers have found the atmosphere welcoming, it is wise to consider the more recent feedback as well.

In terms of services, China Chef Cotati primarily functions as a dine-in and takeout restaurant. Customers have the option to eat their meals on-site or to take them away. One positive review highlights the accommodating nature of a staff member named Lisa, who went out of her way to prepare special sodium-free portions for a guest with dietary restrictions. This indicates a willingness to cater to specific needs. However, a more recent negative review describes the service as "horrible," with accusations of rudeness, rushing customers, and neglecting standard offerings like tea and soup. This discrepancy suggests that the service quality may be inconsistent or that there have been recent changes affecting customer experience. Prospective customers may want to consider this varied feedback when deciding whether to dine in or opt for takeout.

The features of China Chef Cotati, according to customer reviews, include several dishes that have been particularly well-received. The "udon" is mentioned as a favorite by a long-time customer who frequently craves it. The "honey walnut prawns" are described as "fabulous," and the "Mongolian beef" is praised for having "amazing flavor." These positive comments highlight specific dishes that may be considered signature items or popular choices among patrons. However, a more recent review stated that the food was "mediocre," indicating a potential decline in food quality or a difference in individual preferences. This mixed feedback suggests that while some dishes have been highly praised in the past, current experiences may vary.

Regarding promotional information, there are no specific promotions mentioned in the provided reviews. However, one positive review notes "amazing prices for the quality of food," suggesting that China Chef Cotati may offer good value for money when the food and service meet expectations. The more recent negative review, however, contradicts this by stating that the experience was "not worth the money or the hassle," potentially due to the perceived poor service and mediocre food quality. Therefore, it is difficult to ascertain the current value proposition without more consistent feedback or direct information from the restaurant.

For local users in Cotati considering China Chef Cotati, the reviews present a mixed picture. On one hand, there are positive comments from a long-time customer who appreciates the authentic flavors, homey atmosphere, and the accommodating service received. This reviewer specifically recommends the udon, honey walnut prawns, and Mongolian beef, also noting the reasonable prices for the quality. On the other hand, a more recent review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the service, describing it as rude and rushed, and found the food to be mediocre and potentially overpriced. This stark contrast in experiences suggests that the quality of service and potentially the food may have fluctuated or that different customers have had significantly different encounters.

Given this conflicting feedback, local users might want to approach China Chef Cotati with cautious optimism. If you value authentic Chinese flavors and a potentially homey atmosphere, and if the positive experiences with accommodating service are still representative, it could be worth a try. The udon, honey walnut prawns, and Mongolian beef are dishes that have received specific praise. However, it is also important to be aware of the recent negative feedback regarding rude and rushed service and mediocre food. It might be prudent to call ahead to inquire about the current dining experience or perhaps consider a takeout order first to assess the current food quality before committing to a dine-in experience.

In conclusion, China Chef Cotati is a Chinese restaurant in Cotati, CA, that has received both positive and negative feedback from recent customers. While some long-time patrons praise its authentic flavors, homey atmosphere, and certain dishes like the udon, honey walnut prawns, and Mongolian beef, more recent reviews express concerns about rude service and mediocre food quality. Local users should consider this mixed information when deciding whether to visit and may want to gather more current information before making a decision. Contacting the restaurant directly at (707) 664-1004 or +1 707-664-1004 may provide further clarity on their current offerings and service standards.

I have been coming here for years and love the classic authentic flavors similar to what my own Chinese family cooks, and the homey atmosphere. I am always craving the udon, it is my favorite!! Honey walnut prawns were fabulous and the Mongolian beef had amazing flavor. Lisa is so kind and accommodating, especially when I was dining with a family friend who could not eat sodium, and brought out individual no salt portions of dishes for her. Could not recommend enough, amazing prices for the quality of food.

Haven’t been here recently myself but between my husband and his grandmother going today and my grandmother’s recent experience I leave this place with a one star review, and I can say none of us will be returning anytime soon or recommending it to others. My husband said the service was horrible. lady was rude and rushed them out. Annoyed when they came to sit in, rushed them about ordering, about boxes and getting check. Wasn’t offered tea, no soup with meal, food was mediocre. Possibly overcharged. Overall not worth the money or the hassle. Bummer as he used to love going to this place with his grandparents.

We went on Christmas night. They were very busy. They seated us quickly for a table for two. Our table didn't have any condiments on it like other tables had. They offered us green tea or water. We chose tea and got it quickly. I decided that I also wanted water. They said that they were out of water cups but that they would get me water as soon as they could. I watched other people get served water after me. I waited for a bit and then asked for water again. I never got water. The menu had price changes written on it. You could still see the old prices that they had scribbled out. The handwriting wasn't legible for me to tell what we would actually be paying for the food. They were out of one of the things that we wanted. I ordered ginger mushrooms and tofu. They gave me garlic mushrooms instead. When they put the plate down, I asked where the tofu was. They took it back, took some mushrooms off of my plate, and brought me the plate with some added tofu. When I tried the dish, it wasn't ginger sauce. It was garlic sauce. I was really disappointed because I had ordered the ginger tofu and mushrooms before and really enjoyed that dish. There was a small piece of broccoli in my dish and broccoli isn't part of what I ordered or what they gave me. I also ordered coconut curry eggplant. There was a piece of what looked like zucchini peel in my coconut eggplant curry and that dish doesn't have anything close to zucchini in it (it's just eggplant and curry sauce). I'm worried about contamination of dishes. My partner never got his food! We said we wanted to pay and leave and just have his food taken off our bill but they suddenly brought us a dish for him after we asked for the bill. It wasn't what he had ordered! There were two very obvious things wrong with his dish! (He had asked for no shrimp and he asked for noodles instead of rice.) We told them that we didn't want the food that they had brought for him because it was really late and not what he had ordered. We asked for it to be taken off our bill. They gave us the bill with his order on it anyway. We asked them again to take it off and they did. We had to ask twice for a to go box for me. We got tired of waiting at our table to pay so we went to the front to pay. It was pretty chaotic up there because a lot of people were waiting a long time for pickup orders. We considered leaving cash instead of using our card. This restaurant used to have food that I liked. It wasn't healthy but I liked it. I used to come to it a lot when I lived in the area. I'm assuming that the restaurant is under new management? I'm hoping that they figure things out. I'm not very interested in going there any more after our last experience.

Drove 45 minutes to enjoy China Chef tonight and leaving so very happy! Quality of the food and price are incomparable. Plus, everything gluten free upon request. This place is extremely underrated. The owners are very nice and great service too.

Please! Don't go! I pick up my dinner. It was salty and awful flavor. I called them to explain them that this is unfair. They said: that they don't understand me and hung up!! ...the woman is so rude! Wantan soup is the worst I've ever tried in my life!!!
