About China Cafe

China Cafe is a Chinese restaurant located at 1501 Union Cross Rd in Kernersville, North Carolina, 27284, USA. Serving the local community as a Chinese Restaurant, China Cafe offers a range of dishes for those seeking familiar Chinese flavors. They can be contacted at (336) 992-0088 or +1 336-992-0088 for orders and inquiries.

Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences at China Cafe present a mixed picture, with positive feedback regarding some aspects of the food and service contrasting with concerns about the atmosphere and the quality of certain dishes and their accompaniments. One recurring positive point is the consistency and quality of their take-out service over several months. A customer specifically praised China Cafe as "probably the best around" in Kernersville for take-out, highlighting their "old style fried rice" as delicious and their Crab Rangoons as "great." This reviewer also noted the service as "fast and friendly," suggesting efficiency and a positive interaction during the ordering and pick-up process.

In contrast, another customer who ordered the orange chicken had a less favorable experience, particularly concerning the side items. This review described the accompanying broccoli as "3 TINY pieces" and the rice as "very tasteless" with a "giant piece of onion" and little else. This feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in the quality and care taken with all components of a meal. The reviewer's description of these elements as "very cheap and basic" raises questions about the overall value and attention to detail in some of China Cafe's offerings.

Regarding the service, the same reviewer who ordered the orange chicken mentioned that it was "good when the cashier had time for us," but also noted that the restaurant seemed "super busy" or potentially understaffed in the back, implying that the level of service might be affected by the restaurant's operational capacity at peak times. This suggests that while the staff may be friendly, the speed and attentiveness of service could vary depending on the volume of orders.

Perhaps the most significant concern raised in the reviews pertains to the atmosphere of China Cafe. The reviewer explicitly stated, "this place does not look good at all," expressing a wish to have taken a picture to illustrate this point. They further elaborated that while there used to be a dining room for sit-down eating, this area has been "sectioned off with plastic and cardboard," creating an appearance described as "very apocalyptic." This description paints a concerning picture of the dine-in environment, suggesting that it may not be a comfortable or aesthetically pleasing space for customers wishing to eat at the restaurant. The fact that a former dining room is now partitioned in such a manner could indicate ongoing renovations, space constraints, or a shift in focus towards take-out orders.

Considering these reviews, China Cafe appears to be a Chinese restaurant that has garnered some positive feedback for the quality and consistency of its take-out food, particularly the old-style fried rice and Crab Rangoons. The service for take-out is also described as generally fast and friendly. However, there are notable drawbacks highlighted by other customers. The quality and presentation of side dishes, such as the rice and broccoli accompanying the orange chicken, have been criticized as basic and lacking in flavor and quantity. Additionally, the atmosphere of the restaurant, especially the former dining area, is described very negatively, suggesting that it may not be a welcoming environment for dine-in customers.

Given this information, local users considering China Cafe have several factors to weigh. If you are primarily interested in take-out and enjoy classic dishes like old-style fried rice and Crab Rangoons, the positive review suggests that China Cafe could be a good option, especially given the mention of fast and friendly service. However, if you are considering other dishes or planning to dine in, the feedback raises concerns about the quality of certain menu items and the unappealing atmosphere of the restaurant's dining space.

There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews, such as discounts, specials, or new menu items. Therefore, it would be advisable for potential customers to contact China Cafe directly at (336) 992-0088 or +1 336-992-0088 to inquire about any current promotions or to get more information about their menu and dining facilities, if they are considering eating at the location. It might also be helpful to look for more recent reviews online to see if there have been any changes or updates to the restaurant's food, service, or atmosphere.

In conclusion, China Cafe in Kernersville presents a mixed bag based on the available customer feedback. While it seems to have established a reputation for good quality take-out, particularly for certain dishes, there are concerns regarding the quality of some menu items and a significantly negative description of the restaurant's atmosphere. Local users should consider their priorities – whether they are primarily seeking take-out of specific dishes or a pleasant dine-in experience – and perhaps gather more information before making a decision. Supporting local restaurants provides valuable contributions to the community, and hopefully, China Cafe can address the areas of concern raised in customer feedback to enhance the overall dining experience for its patrons.

Over the past several months I have got take out from this place numerous times. It has been consistently very good. Probably the best around. At least in Kernersville. They have the old style fried rice which is delicious. Crab Rangoon’s are also great. Service is fast and friendly.

Food: I got the orange chicken which was okay but everything that accompanied it seemed very cheap and basic. In my picture you can see I got 3 TINY pieces of broccoli, and the rice just has a giant piece of onion on it, with nothing else really in it. Very tasteless rice. Service: was good when the cashier had time for us, seems like the day we went was super busy or they need more people in the back. Atmosphere: this place does not look good at all, wish I took a picture. They used to have a dining room for sit down eating but the room is sectioned off with plastic and cardboard, looks very apocalyptic.

It's Christmas day, I was at the rehabilitation center with my dad all day and didn't wanna cook after, thankfully they were open. I've been coming here my entire life and the food and service has always been above and beyond. The only Chinese restaurant in Kernersville i go to.

Sue and her family are amazing! We've eaten here for years and are always happy with our order. They're sweet humans who genuinely care. I've tried over restaurants and have never found one as great as here! If you want authentic Chinese food from a lovely, small business, we highly recommend them.
