As a valued member of the Chinese Restaurant category in Austin, China Cafe Lakeline provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for dine-in customers, along with convenient options for takeout. You can reach them at (512) 331-7747 or +1 512-331-7747 for reservations or to place an order. Based on the available customer reviews, China Cafe Lakeline appears to be a treasure within the local culinary scene, offering high-quality food at reasonable prices.

One customer who enjoyed a quiet solo dining experience at China Cafe Lakeline highlighted the availability of table service, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a more relaxed meal. Starting with a Shirley Temple, the reviewer noted it was satisfactory, although without elaborate garnishes despite the presence of a bar. This suggests that while beverages are offered, the focus might be more on the food itself.

The Pot Stickers, ordered as an appetizer, received positive feedback. These were described as being filled with pork, lightly pan-fried to the reviewer's preference, and served on a bed of shredded cabbage with a spicy soy dipping sauce. The portion size of eight pot stickers was also noted, indicating a generous serving for an appetizer. This positive experience with the starter suggests a promising start to the meal, with attention paid to both flavor and presentation.

For the main course, the Sweet & Sour Chicken was chosen, which came with steamed white rice. The reviewer mentioned the absence of an egg roll with the meal, leading to an additional order of four egg rolls to complete their dining experience. Both the Sweet & Sour Chicken and the egg rolls were described as very tasteful and juicy, with a portion size that allowed for leftovers to take home. This indicates that the dishes are not only flavorful but also offer good value in terms of quantity.

The overall impression from this dining experience was highly positive, with the reviewer stating they would absolutely recommend China Cafe Lakeline for both dine-in and takeout. This endorsement speaks to the quality of the food and the overall service provided by the restaurant.

Another customer review enthusiastically describes China Cafe Lakeline as a "treasure," emphasizing the high quality of the food served. This sentiment reinforces the positive feedback from the first review and suggests a consistent commitment to food quality. This reviewer typically visits for lunch with their wife and highlights the exceptional value of their lunch special. Priced at $13 per person, the lunch includes the main meal, a choice of rice, an egg roll, and a soup of their choice. The inclusion of these items at a fixed price point represents a very attractive offer for those seeking a satisfying and affordable midday meal. The reviewer even attached a photo (though not available here), indicating a desire to visually showcase the appealing nature of the lunch offering.

This second review also expresses a hope that China Cafe Lakeline becomes busier and remains a thriving establishment, underscoring the fantastic quality of the food and the potential loss to the community if such a gem were to go out of business. This passionate endorsement from a regular customer further solidifies the impression of a restaurant that prioritizes food quality and customer satisfaction.

Based on these reviews, the environment at China Cafe Lakeline appears to be conducive to a pleasant dining experience, whether one is dining alone or with company. The availability of table service suggests a comfortable and potentially quieter setting, as indicated by the "quiet day" mentioned in one review. While specific details about the decor or ambiance are not provided, the positive feedback regarding the food and service implies a welcoming and functional space for enjoying a meal.

The services offered by China Cafe Lakeline include both dine-in and takeout options, catering to different customer needs and preferences. The mention of a bar suggests the availability of some alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, although the first reviewer noted a lack of elaborate garnishes for a Shirley Temple. The efficient table service and the option to order additional items like egg rolls indicate a willingness to accommodate customer requests. The attractive lunch special further enhances the service by providing a comprehensive and affordable meal option during lunchtime hours.

Key features of China Cafe Lakeline appear to be its commitment to high-quality food, generous portion sizes, and affordable pricing, particularly evident in their lunch special. The positive remarks about the taste and juiciness of dishes like the Sweet & Sour Chicken and the flavorful Pot Stickers highlight the culinary strengths of the restaurant. The inclusion of an egg roll and soup with the lunch special, along with a main meal and rice, offers significant value to customers. The availability of both dine-in and takeout services adds to the convenience and accessibility of China Cafe Lakeline for the local community.

Regarding promotional information, the most prominent offer mentioned in the reviews is the lunch special priced at $13 per person, which includes a main meal, choice of rice, an egg roll, and a soup. Quiet day to myself had me venturing inside China Cafe for table service. Started with a Shirley Temple, not bad but no cool garnishments even though there was a bar; then ordered Pot Stickers for an appetizer. Pot stickers were pork only and lightly pan fried just the way I prefer and 8 came on a bed of shredded cabbage with spicy soy for dipping. Meal was Sweet & Sour Chicken which came with stream white rice and no egg roll so I ordered 4 to complete my meal. All very tasteful and juicy with plenty to take home. I would absolutely recommend this place for dine-in or take out.

This place is a treasure! The food is such high-quality. My wife and I usually go at lunch and the cost is $13 per person, which includes the main meal along with your choice of rice, and eggroll, and soup of your choice. I’ll attach a photo. This place needs to get busier and stay busy because it would be a shame for them to go out of business when they serve such fantastic food!

China cafe used to be reliable and consistent, but it has been in decline. After today, I will never eat here again. The sesame chicken in the picture was 1/4 chicken and 3/4 fried mushy bread. It was absolutely disgusting! I was using a fork and knife to try and find the chicken inside by pulling the bread away.
