About China Buffet
Welcome to China Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 8630 University Executive Park Dr, Charlotte, NC 28262, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, China Buffet operates primarily as a buffet-style establishment, offering a wide selection of Chinese dishes for a fixed price. They can be contacted at (704) 548-9988 or +1 704-548-9988 for inquiries.
Based on recent online customer reviews, China Buffet in Charlotte appears to be facing significant and widespread issues concerning the quality of its food, the behavior of its staff, and the overall dining experience. Multiple reviewers have expressed extreme dissatisfaction, using strong language to describe their visits as negative and indicating a strong disinclination to return.
One customer who dined in with the expectation of good food and variety reported receiving only the latter, with the food described as having "no flavor." This lack of taste extended to various items, including veggie rolls, fried wings, and sautéed mushrooms, with only the green beans noted as having some flavor. This reviewer resorted to using duck sauce to make the food palatable. They expressed disbelief at a previous positive review they had seen, sarcastically questioning what that reviewer might have eaten, and concluded that China Buffet was merely "an excuse to just take your money," expressing their disappointment and even suggesting the restaurant should close. The bourbon chicken was specifically labeled as "horrible," and the customer humorously noted that while the unsweetened tea tasted "awesome," they would not be returning and urged the restaurant to close.
Another highly critical review detailed a particularly negative experience regarding the cost, food quality, and staff behavior. This customer reported being charged nearly $80 for a meal for two younger siblings, their mother, and themselves, equating to almost $20 per person for what they described as "trash food." They stated that much of the food was either severely overcooked, excessively salty, or completely lacking seasoning. A particularly disturbing aspect of this review was the accusation that Hispanic workers near the hibachi area were laughing at customers and speaking badly about them. The reviewer also recounted an incident where they requested beef with broccoli, a dish that had not been replenished for over an hour and was dry with no beef left. Their request was allegedly ignored and met with laughter until they spoke to someone else, and even then, the dish was never refreshed. This customer emphatically stated that the "food WAS HORRIBLE!!" and the staff was "RUDE," noting that the same dry, overcooked food was left out for hours. They expressed frustration at paying nearly $100 and not being able to eat what they wanted at a buffet. The reviewer also claimed that there was no manager available to address their concerns and that even the plates were dirty, with no action taken by the staff. They summarized their experience as "just a mess!!"
Considering these two detailed and highly negative reviews, China Buffet in Charlotte appears to be facing severe issues across multiple aspects of its operation. The food is consistently described as flavorless, poorly cooked (overcooked, dry), and of low quality. The service is portrayed as rude and dismissive, with allegations of staff laughing at customers and ignoring their requests. Furthermore, there are concerns raised about the cleanliness of the establishment, specifically mentioning dirty plates. The pricing, with one reviewer noting nearly $20 per person for the described food, is also perceived as unreasonable given the poor quality reported.
For local users in Charlotte seeking a Chinese buffet, the recent feedback for China Buffet is overwhelmingly negative and should be a significant cause for concern. The issues raised are not minor inconveniences but rather fundamental problems related to food quality, customer service, and potentially hygiene. The strong and emotional language used by both reviewers underscores the depth of their dissatisfaction and suggests that these were not isolated incidents of minor disappointment.
Given the severity of these reports, it is difficult to identify any positive features or services at China Buffet. The negative aspects seem to overshadow any potential positives. There is no mention of a pleasant environment; instead, the focus is on the unappetizing food and rude staff. No promotional information is available, and based on the reviews, it is unlikely that any promotions would entice these customers to return or recommend the restaurant to others.
Local residents considering China Buffet should take these recent experiences very seriously. The consistent themes of flavorless and poorly cooked food, rude and unhelpful staff, and concerns about cleanliness paint a picture of a dining establishment that is failing to meet basic customer expectations. While it is possible that some customers might have different experiences, the strength and specificity of these negative reviews suggest a systemic problem that potential diners should be aware of.
In conclusion, recent customer feedback for China Buffet in Charlotte, NC, is overwhelmingly negative, citing issues with bland and poorly cooked food, rude and inattentive staff, and concerns about cleanliness. Local users seeking a Chinese buffet in the area are strongly advised to consider these significant concerns before choosing to dine at China Buffet.

Came here for the experience of some good food for dine in and variety. I humbly only received the variety. Food has no flavor. Maybe they rushed the cooks. Even the veggie rolls were flavorless. Fried wings as well. And the sautéed mushrooms taste like nothing. Green beans are the only thing on my plate with some flavor. I have to use duck sauce for the food to even be eaten. Only thing to say at this point is board up the crack house. Where’s the love at. One review called the food here tasty. I wonder what they ate because it’s not in this place. An excuse to just take your money. I’m disappointed with this place. Even the so called bourbon chicken is horrible. I need a refund. The unsweetened tea taste awesome. The staff needs to cover their eyes and do the bird box challenge.none of this food had any flavor. All bland. I won’t be back again. Please close this mestaurant
Kind of ridiculous how they charged me nearly $80 for my 2 younger siblings,my mom & i,nearly $20 each for this trash food. Literally some food was so overcooked either salty or no seasoning, whole bunch of hispanic workers near the hibachi area laughing at customers & talk badly to customers!!! Asked them to please bring out some beef w broccoli since i had been there for about an hour & that same dish hadnt been changed out,was dry & had no beef, they ignored me & laughed until i told someone else & still they never even changed it! Food WAS HORRIBLE!! PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE ARE RUDE & they will serve that same dry overcooked food for hours !! Whats the point i paid nearly $100 just to be not even be able to eat what i wanted at a BUFFET!! Supposedly there was no manager which is why i wasnt able to talk to anyone but even the plates were dirty & they did nothing about that!! Just a mess!!
This is my favorite Chinese Buffet in Charlotte. The food has been consistent so far, and the customer service is good. I believe that this may be the best buffet in Charlotte. Some people like quantity (the buffets with more options), I love quantity.
First time here. Best Chinese buffet we've been to in this area. Went lunch time around 2:00 on a weekday ($13.99+drink). Most dishes on buffet we tried were fresh and hot. Soups and hibachi very good. Only item that seemed old and hard was Sesame chicken. Nicely decorated and seems very clean. Will go back. Dinner and weekend price of $19.99 seems quite high unless you are a big eater.
I give TWO ⭐️…one star for my water which was thirst quenching and one star for the green beans bc they actually had some flavor. EVERYTHING ELSE? Nasty! Bland over cooked greasy, I set all my plates basically full of food at the edge of the table and the decor? Yikes. 😳 The girl at the counter asked me was everything ok I said No your kitchen needs to step it’s game up it was disgusting. 🤮 She went silent. Still had to pay. How does this place have a four star rating? Bye ✌🏼 Never again!
