About China buffet

China buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 117 S 2nd St in Odessa, Missouri. For inquiries or to place an order, they can be contacted at (816) 633-8828 or +1 816-633-8828. As a "Chinese Restaurant" offering a buffet service, China buffet aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the local community in an all-you-can-eat format.

Based on recent customer feedback, the experiences at China buffet appear to be somewhat mixed. One reviewer noted that the interior "looks a little run down" and that the restaurant stores items in the front area, potentially affecting the initial impression of the environment. However, this reviewer advised not to let these aesthetic aspects deter potential customers, as they found the food to be "really good and fairly priced." They specifically recommended the Mongolian Beef as being "especially good" and mentioned that children enjoy the General Tso's chicken.

In contrast, another customer reported a negative experience with some of the dishes. They described the orange chicken as "bland as hell" with no orange flavor and the chow mein as tasting "old." This reviewer concluded that the food was "definitely not worth the price of what you get," indicating dissatisfaction with the value proposition.

The limited information from these two reviews presents a somewhat conflicting picture of China buffet. One perspective highlights the tasty food, particularly certain dishes like the Mongolian Beef and General Tso's chicken, and the reasonable pricing, while acknowledging the less appealing interior. The other perspective criticizes the flavor and freshness of specific dishes, such as the orange chicken and chow mein, and suggests that the cost does not align with the quality received.

The term "buffet" in the restaurant's name suggests that customers can expect a self-service format with a variety of dishes available. However, the reviews do not provide details about the selection or variety of items typically offered on the buffet. The contrasting opinions on food quality make it difficult to ascertain the overall standard of the buffet offerings.

Information regarding services beyond the buffet, such as takeout or delivery options, is not mentioned in the provided reviews. Similarly, details about any unique features of the restaurant or current promotional offers are absent. Local users would need to contact China buffet directly for such information.

For local users in Odessa, MO, considering China buffet as a dining option, it is important to weigh the available feedback. The potential for good quality and reasonably priced food, especially dishes like Mongolian Beef and General Tso's chicken, might be appealing. However, the reported issues with the blandness of the orange chicken and the staleness of the chow mein, coupled with concerns about the interior appearance, should also be taken into account. The value for money seems to be a point of contention between the two reviewers.

Given the limited and somewhat contradictory nature of the reviews, it might be beneficial for potential customers to consider when the reviews were written, if more recent feedback is available elsewhere, or to perhaps try the restaurant themselves to form a personal opinion. The recommendation of specific dishes like the Mongolian Beef could be a starting point for those willing to give China buffet a try.

In conclusion, China buffet in Odessa, MO, is a local Chinese restaurant offering a buffet. Customer reviews present mixed opinions, with praise for the taste and price of some dishes like Mongolian Beef and General Tso's chicken, but criticism regarding the blandness and freshness of other items like orange chicken and chow mein, as well as concerns about the interior appearance. Potential customers should consider these contrasting views when making their dining decisions.

Looks a little run down inside. They store stuff up front. Don't let that deter you. Food is really good and fairly priced here! Mongolian Beef is especially good. Kids love the General Tso.

The name of this place is China Buffet. They do NOT have a buffet. I drove 30 minutes to this place because I wanted to try a new buffet. When I suggested to the counter girl they change their name since they have a big sign on the front saying ‘China Buffet’ and don’t actually have one, she started twerking her head and waving her hand around giving me reasons it has to be this way. I don’t care about your reasons. Your name is buffet and you don’t have one. Just change your name. Quit lying to people.
