About China Buffet

Welcome to China Buffet, located at 31 Pine Grove Square, Grove City, PA 16127, USA. As a local establishment categorized as a "Chinese Restaurant," China Buffet aims to provide the Grove City community with a buffet-style dining experience featuring a variety of Chinese dishes. For inquiries, you can contact them at (724) 458-6330 or via mobile phone at +1 724-458-6330.

Based on the available customer reviews, opinions regarding China Buffet appear to be significantly divided, with some describing a negative experience while others highlight its affordability and basic offerings. One customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, labeling the place as "absoloutley disgusting." This reviewer claimed that "everything was cold and tasted old," indicating potential issues with food quality and temperature control. They also specifically criticized the General Tso's chicken, stating it "tasted like ketchup," suggesting an unappetizing deviation from the expected flavor profile. Furthermore, they noted that dishes intended to be spicy were "overly sweet," indicating a possible imbalance in flavorings. This reviewer also strongly condemned the cleanliness of the establishment, calling it "absolutely one of the filthiest places I've chosen to eat" and stated they would "never again" return, citing a preference for a nearby restaurant known as Elephant #8.

Adding to the negative feedback, the same reviewer mentioned a disturbing observation regarding the placement of a "filthy thermostat on the wall" directly above the ice cream, raising concerns about hygiene and potential contamination of the dessert area. This visual detail further contributes to the negative impression of the restaurant's overall cleanliness and maintenance.

Based on this highly critical review, potential customers should be aware of the serious allegations regarding food quality, temperature, taste, and the cleanliness of China Buffet. The comparison to another local establishment and the strong recommendation to avoid China Buffet suggest a significantly negative dining experience for at least one customer.

In contrast to this strongly negative perspective, another review offers a more neutral assessment, describing China Buffet as "a cheap Chinese buffet without sushi" that "offers a simple, no-frills dining experience." This suggests that the restaurant focuses on providing a budget-friendly option for those seeking traditional Chinese comfort food without the inclusion of Japanese cuisine like sushi. The selection is described as including "classic dishes like stir-fries, lo mein, fried rice, soups, and dim sum," indicating a standard range of popular Chinese buffet fare.

According to this more neutral review, the food at China Buffet is "decent, regularly replenished, and okay for the price." This suggests that while the food might not be exceptional, it is generally acceptable and that the buffet items are kept stocked. The service is described as "efficient," implying a functional and timely service without particular emphasis on attentiveness or personal interaction. The reviewer concludes that the "overall value makes it ideal for budget-conscious diners seeking traditional Chinese comfort food." This paints a picture of a restaurant that prioritizes affordability and offers basic Chinese buffet staples.

Considering these contrasting reviews, China Buffet in Grove City, PA, appears to be a budget-oriented Chinese buffet that offers a standard selection of classic dishes. However, potential customers should be aware of serious negative feedback regarding food quality (cold, old, and off-flavor), cleanliness (described as filthy with a thermostat positioned over the ice cream), and overall dining experience. While one review suggests it is an acceptable option for budget-conscious diners seeking simple Chinese comfort food with efficient service, the other paints a picture of a highly unpleasant experience with significant concerns about hygiene and food quality.

Given the stark difference in opinions, it is difficult to provide a definitive overall assessment of China Buffet. Local users considering dining here should weigh the potential for an affordable and basic Chinese buffet experience against the serious allegations of poor food quality and unsanitary conditions. It might be prudent to consider the more recent reviews, if available, or perhaps exercise caution based on the strongly negative feedback provided. The absence of sushi is also a notable characteristic for those who might expect it in a Chinese buffet.

In conclusion, China Buffet in Grove City, PA, is presented as a budget-friendly Chinese buffet offering a simple selection of classic dishes. However, potential diners must be aware of concerning reviews that describe the food as cold, old, and poorly flavored, and the establishment as filthy, with specific mention of a thermostat positioned inappropriately above the ice cream. While one reviewer found it to be an acceptable value for budget-conscious individuals, the strong negative feedback raises significant concerns about the overall dining experience and hygiene standards at China Buffet. Local users should carefully consider these points before deciding to dine at this establishment.

This place is absoloutley disgusting. Everything was cold and tasted old. Tye general tso tasted like ketchup. Seemed like everything that was supposed to be spicy was overly sweet. Not too mention this is absolutely one of the filthiest places I've chosen to eat. Never again. I guess I'm spoiled from having elephant #8 so close to home. The picture of the filthy thermostat on the wall is directly over the ice cream. Do yourself a favor and don't stop here.

Absolutely awful. Very rude employees charged me claiming I had another child while it was only me and my 2 children as we were standing in front of her also claiming prices where different than menu says. Never came to the table to give me a refill on my drink or ask if we needed anything. I would never recommend going here especially with children. The lady was very angry when she saw the kids walk in.

Very cheap. Under $10 for all you can eat dinner. Pretty much mall food court food but all the variety with soup, ice cream, fruit, cake, cookies... Good value for sure. But nothing to write home about. Better than any fast food for sure. They cook fresh items every few mins in small batches. If you and your friends are hungry and don't want to spend too much and don't want unhealthy fast food. This is it.
