About China Buffet

China Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 305 N Main St, Russellville, KY 42276, USA. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," it aims to provide a range of Chinese cuisine in a buffet-style setting. Based on recent customer feedback available online, it's important for local users to be aware of certain aspects of the dining experience at China Buffet. Several reviews highlight concerns regarding the quality and temperature of the food. Multiple customers reported that food items were frequently not fully cooked, undercooked, or served cold. Specifically, chicken dishes and rice were mentioned as being cold. In contrast, one reviewer noted that the noodles were a positive aspect of their meal.

The service model at China Buffet differs from traditional full-service restaurants. Customers have noted that there are no waiters to take orders or provide table service. Diners are expected to get their own drinks. One customer recounted an issue with a malfunctioning drink dispenser, where a beverage sprayed uncontrollably. Furthermore, the restaurant implements a self-clearing system. Customers are requested to bus their own tables after eating, with designated buckets provided for plates and utensils.

In terms of the food selection, reviews suggest that the primary offerings consist of various chicken preparations and some seafood options, which at least one reviewer described negatively in appearance. The variety might be perceived as limited by some, with a focus on chicken dishes. It's worth noting that one customer felt the price of $20 was not justified given their experience.

Several customers have expressed significant dissatisfaction with their overall experience at China Buffet. Issues cited include the food being consistently short or unavailable, the aforementioned problems with food temperature and preparation, and negative interactions with staff. One reviewer specifically described the person handling payment as rude. The general sentiment from these reviews leans towards recommending potential diners to consider alternative options available in nearby areas.

For instance, a customer explicitly suggested the Hibachi Buffet restaurant in Bowling Green as a superior alternative, highlighting benefits such as served drinks, table clearing, freshly made hibachi plates, and a sushi bar for a comparable price. This comparison underscores the importance of considering various factors beyond just the cuisine type when choosing a dining establishment.

In conclusion, while China Buffet operates as a Chinese restaurant in Russellville, offering a buffet-style service, potential local users should be aware of the concerns raised in recent customer reviews. These concerns primarily revolve around food quality and temperature, the self-service model for drinks and table clearing, and reported negative experiences with staff. It is advisable to consider these points when making a dining decision and perhaps explore other Chinese or buffet options in the vicinity based on individual preferences and priorities for dining experience and service.

Food was always short. Food was not cooked all the way. The guy that took my money was very rude and through my change at me. Most of the food was not cooked or over cooked. The other employees don't help you find anything. Lots of negatives. Not worth the 20 bucks. Do not go here!

There are no waiters. You have to get drinks yourself. When I got Mellow Yellow, it sprayed all over my hand. It wasn't just coming out of the nozzle, either. Clearly broken. They also want you to clear the table, with buckets nearby that say "Place plates here" and a separate one for utensils. Basically their only options are varieties of chicken and some gross looking seafood. All the different chicken dishes that I got were cold. The rice was cold. The noodles were actually good. For literally 2 extra dollars, you could go to the Hibachi Buffet restaurant in Bowling Green, get served drinks, and have your table cleared for you. Also, I've never had the food be cold there. They can make hibachi plates for you fresh, and they have a sushi bar. Far superior.

Last time I went there the food was incredibly off compared to what I had been used to over the last few years. The soups were thick and same with the sweet and sour sauce like they had corn starch or some sort of additive to make it thicker and more appealing looking. It left me and my friends all sick and one of us even got stuck on the toilet for a while.

This review is a no-brainer. A sign on the door tells you all you need to know. You have to pay before you eat. That indicates they are used to unhappy customers. We went at open time, and there was no fresh food smell because all the food was microwaved. But at least it was freshly microwaved.

This restaurant has came a long ways from when they first opened. Back in 2005-2007 they had my Mexican brothers and sisters doing all the cooking so so everything was spicy 🔥🥵 as hell and did not taste like true Chinese food. But today 2022 they must have a new chef because the food is always amazing. It is extremely expensive if you get a to go plate because they weight the plate for pricing. I spent $18.00 on 1 to go plate which was insane for the price. You are better off buying the Quarts or pint size bowls. To buy 3 meat trays, 1 large bowl of fried rice will cost you about $62.00. It's very pricey but well worth it.
