Customer reviews for China Bowl offer a mixed perspective. One diner who chose China Bowl after other options were unexpectedly closed on a Sunday afternoon had a positive dine-in experience. They found the egg rolls to be hot and crispy, the chicken rice soup fresh and flavorful, and the pepper steak, General Tso's chicken, vegetables, and fried rice to be very tasty without being overly salty. They also noted the hard work of the two staff members handling both dine-in and carry-out orders and appreciated the bonus of a child assisting with fortune cookies.
This reviewer also described the atmosphere as clean and updated without excessive decorations. The only noted drawback was the presence of empty carry-out boxes and related items on some tables in the dining area, which they felt should be less visible to diners.
In contrast, another customer who ordered takeout had a less favorable experience. They found the sesame chicken and sweet & sour shrimp to be soggy and rubbery with minimal flavor. The fried rice was described as simply "soy rice" lacking flavor or vegetables. While acknowledging the large portion sizes, they felt the food quality was lacking. However, this reviewer did find the crab rangoons and egg rolls surprisingly fresh, crispy, and not greasy, with crunchy vegetables in the egg rolls. They also enjoyed the pineapple and peppers in the sweet & sour sauce and found the hot and sour soup to be "amazing." This customer also noted that the woman taking their order was very sweet and helpful and suggested that the dine-in experience might differ.
Overall, reviews indicate that China Bowl offers large portions and has some well-received items like the hot and sour soup, crab rangoons, and egg rolls. Dine-in experiences may be more positive, with one customer specifically praising the freshness and flavor of their meal and the service. However, takeout experiences have been criticized for the sogginess and lack of flavor in some main dishes and fried rice. Potential customers may want to weigh these differing opinions when considering China Bowl.

You would think fulfulling a craving for dine-in Chinese food on an early Sunday afternoon would be easy. Thanks to two places closer to my home being confirmed closed when their Google listing had them as open, China Bowl was the day's winner, and I'm glad it was. The egg rools were hot and crispy; the chicken rice soup was fresh and flavorful; and the pepper steak, General Tso's chicken, vegetables, and fried rice were on point - very tasty, but not overpowering with salt or other flavors. There were two women working their tails off in the front of the house dealing with an increasing number of dine-in customers and carry-out orders. (Bonus points to the little boy running around and passing out fortune cookies and other items. He was cute and generated a few laughs with his infectious smile.) China Bowl is clean and updated, but not overdone with decorations. The only reason I'm giving four stars for atmosphere is because one table was filled with empty carry-out boxes, napkins, etc., and similar items were found on tables in another area of the dining room. Maybe that's necessary because of the size of the room, but, in my opinion, those items should be hidden from diners. I'll definitely be back - and soon!
I visited for the first time & ordered take out from right around the corner for 2 different dishes plus some appetizers. Sesame chicken & sweet & sour shrimp, pretty basic staples. They both were soggy & rubbery with very little flavor. The fried rice was just....soy rice? No real flavor or vegetable in it. The portions were huge & looked good, I will say that. It's a lot of food. Just not good food. The crab rangoons & egg rolls were surprisingly fresh, though. Not greasy, good crisp, & the veggies in the egg roll had a great crunch rather than the mush most have. The pineapple & peppers in the sweet & sour sauce was tasty & unique & how I managed to eat what I did of the dishes. The woman taking my order was very sweet & helpful, maybe dining in would be a different experience. OH OH, I also got hot sour soup & that was actually amazing.
Personally, I do not recommend this location due to the lack of flavor in the food. We ordered extra spicy Kung Po and it was tasteless. It also seems like the ladies serving the tables are working in the kitchen as well. Thus leaving us unattended for extended periods of times. I would like to mention that the portion sizes are large but I will not be returning due to the blandness of the food.
This was honestly the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The beef was so tender it melted like butter. Egg drop soup and wonton soup were both amazing. Lived the wonton crisps that came with it (some sweet and some salty!). Easily got 2 meals out of it. Great service, they were really moving making sure everyone was taken care of. This place is out of my way, and I will happily be driving past many Chinese restaurants to eat here.
Sadly, the food didn’t taste like anything, even the chicken tasted extremely bland; keep in mind we asked for extra spicy. Looks like good Chinese food, does not taste like Chinese food. We got the Kung Bo Chicken dinner plate. Wonton soup tasted like it was taken from the egg drop soup, had to ask twice for our hot tea after our table was left unattended for a good 20 minutes, and as I mentioned above, the food tasted like the flavor had been wrung out.
