About China Apple
Welcome to China Apple, a Chinese restaurant located at 2288 Glenns Bay Rd in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (SC 29575), USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant platform category, China Apple distinguishes itself by offering a selection of Cantonese dishes, a rarity in the Myrtle Beach area according to one enthusiastic customer. While the restaurant caters to both takeout and dine-in customers, it has garnered attention for its authentic preparations of specific Cantonese cuisine alongside other popular Chinese-American fare.
Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, China Apple fills a niche by providing options that go beyond the standard offerings found in many similar establishments in the region. The discovery of Cantonese chow mein (listed as pan-fried noodles on their menu) by a long-time resident of Myrtle Beach highlights their commitment to offering more diverse regional Chinese specialties. This suggests that China Apple may feature a menu that includes both familiar favorites and some less commonly found dishes, catering to a broader range of palates and those seeking a more authentic taste of specific Chinese culinary traditions.
The environment of China Apple is described as "clean and neat" by a customer who chose to dine in. This suggests that while a significant portion of their business might be takeout, they maintain a presentable and hygienic dining area for those who prefer to eat at the restaurant. The positive mention of cleanliness contributes to a welcoming atmosphere for dine-in guests. While the size or specific décor of the dining room is not detailed, the emphasis on cleanliness implies a comfortable and well-maintained space for enjoying a meal.
In terms of services, China Apple offers both takeout and dine-in options. The review mentioning most customers opting for takeout indicates the popularity of this service, likely catering to both locals and tourists in the Myrtle Beach area who wish to enjoy Chinese food at home or elsewhere. However, the availability of a "clean and neat dining room" shows that they also accommodate customers who prefer to eat on-site. To inquire about potential delivery services, it would be best to contact China Apple directly at (843) 650-4926 or +1 843-650-4926. The positive experience of the customer who dined in suggests that they provide attentive service to their in-house guests as well.
Several features of China Apple stand out based on the customer reviews. A significant highlight is their ability to prepare authentic Cantonese dishes, specifically the Cantonese chow mein, listed as pan-fried noodles. This dish was described as "DELICIOUS!!!" with high praise for the tender and perfectly sautéed beef, the quality of the meat (no gristle or fat), the abundance of delicious and perfectly sautéed vegetables, and the "fabulous" light sauce. The "nest of fried noodles" was also noted to be exactly as it should be, with a desirable crunchy exterior and chewy interior. This ability to execute a less common Cantonese dish well is a major feature that sets China Apple apart.
Another positive feature is the "delicious fried pork dumplings" with a "delicious" filling and a dumpling sauce that was described as "one of the best" the reviewer had tasted in years. This indicates that their appetizers are also of high quality and flavorful. The crab Rangoon is another noteworthy item, as the reviewer mentioned that few Chinese restaurants offer it or often make a poor, greasy version, but China Apple's rendition was "very, very good indeed." This suggests a commitment to quality even in more common Chinese-American appetizers.
However, it is important to note a contrasting negative review regarding the "shrimp with lobster sauce." One customer described it as "terrible," stating that the sauce was not authentic, being "very gooey and bland" and lacking the expected crab meat. This significantly negative feedback suggests potential inconsistency in the quality or preparation of certain dishes. The reviewer strongly advised others to "stay away from this restaurant" based on their experience with this particular dish, indicating a severe level of dissatisfaction.
The stark contrast between the overwhelmingly positive review highlighting the Cantonese chow mein, dumplings, and crab Rangoon, and the strongly negative review of the shrimp with lobster sauce, suggests that the quality of dishes at China Apple might vary. Potential customers may find some standout items, particularly in the Cantonese and appetizer sections of the menu, but there could be inconsistencies in other offerings.
Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not contain any details about current specials, discounts, or promotions offered by China Apple. To find out if they have any ongoing promotions, such as lunch specials, family deals, or discounts on certain days, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly at the provided phone numbers. They may also have information about specials available at the restaurant itself or on any online platforms they might use.
In conclusion, China Apple in Myrtle Beach, SC, is a Chinese restaurant that offers both takeout and dine-in services. It stands out for its ability to prepare authentic Cantonese dishes like the highly praised pan-fried noodles (Cantonese chow mein), as well as delicious fried pork dumplings and crab Rangoon. The restaurant maintains a clean and neat dining area. However, there is a significant negative review regarding the shrimp with lobster sauce, indicating potential inconsistencies in food quality. For local users and visitors in Myrtle Beach seeking Cantonese cuisine and well-prepared appetizers, China Apple is worth considering, but it may be prudent to inquire about the preparation and quality of specific dishes based on the mixed feedback. Contacting the restaurant directly for menu details and any current promotions is recommended.

Customer Reviews
China Apple is a hidden gem which I was so pleased to discover. Since moving to the Myrtle Beach area 5 years ago, I’d been searching for a restaurant who actually makes some Cantonese dishes. I ask at every Chinese restaurant I visit here if they can make (for example) Cantonese chow mein, but not a single one- until China Apple- had even HEARD of the dish. Well, they have pan-fried noodles on the menu (which is Cantonese chow mein) and wow, was it ever DELICIOUS!!! The beef was very tender, sliced thin and perfectly sautéed; there was no gristle or fat in the meat; it was a very good quality beef. The dish was loaded with delicious and perfectly sautéed vegetables, and the light sauce it was cooked in was fabulous. The nest of fried noodles was exactly as it should be, crunchy on the outside and chewy inside. We also had delicious fried pork dumplings- the filling was delicious- with a serving of one of the best dumpling sauces I’ve had in years. Wow! We also tried crab Rangoon, which few Chinese restaurants offer, or make a poor, greasy rendition; but these were very, very good indeed. Although most customers did takeout, we ate in the clean and neat dining room. We will definitely be coming back to China Apple!
I had went there with my mother and we both got the shrimp with lobster sauce. It was terrible. The so called lobster sauce wasn't even lobster sauce. It was very gooey, and bland. There was supposed other be crab meat in the sauce but there wasn't. It wasn't a good meal and it was a waste of money. Please stay away from this restaurant.
I ordered beef egg foo yung and was really hopeful that the knot in my stomach would be wrong. It wasn’t. I never met the beef! Not only was the meal bad, the cashier tried to hold back a dollar on my change! Be warned!
This food was amazing will definitely come back the hunan chicken was great and the house lo mein was bomb . The dumplings where great and that sauce in the dumplings even better.
The lady that runs the counter and answers the phone for the business is not real friendly and she gets very frustrated with people because she doesn’t want to talk with them in English. I spent over $100 in the place in the last two weeks trying to give her some business and it was really Was very difficult. I wouldn’t recommend the hospitality there at all.
